use this until you flash mgldr:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
then go to this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044830
because nowadays many roms use cwm method instead of daf.
and you can use this tool for many parts of your work:

Just like how DFT Team made it with MAGLDR 1.11
SIMPLE - Easy - Works Every Freaking Time!!
Something that makes (1) Img file that gets copied to the SD Card!
No Partions Ect. Crap .. Then you could just Flash it back
I am Looking for a Complete NAND Memory Backup Program more like ..
Acronis or Ghost That Does an Image of the complete Nand Memory.
Something Universal .. would not matter if you use NAND or ZIP Or > Whatever comes next! to install Android
I figure .. If we can backup using "clockwork" maybe it could not be that hard
to make a program .. that will Image the Nand from Sec. 0 - 99999.
I am trying to express my feelings and MANY others I have seen in other threads.
That we need a SIMPLE.. way to backup the ENTIRE NAND And Do A Restore.
Maybe a VERY Striped Down Ver Of Clockwork Of Some Type ..

A Program That Will Do this .. Thats What This Thread Is About ..

I don't see the difficulty of installing CWM, it's descripted nicely:
For new user;
1. download one of the partition files, if you don't know which one you need, use the 250M one or check with rom developer.
2. Extract downloaded zip to a folder of your choice
3. Copy contents of copy_to_sd_root (initrd.gz and zImage) to the root of your sd card
4. boot into magldr and select USB Flasher option while phone is connected to PC
5. Run DAF.exe included in the zip and follow onscreen instructions.
6. After complete, again boot into magldr and select "Boot AD SD" option
7. ClockworkMod recovery should load, you can flash a rom from here.
Click to collapse
Inside CWM, do a Nandroid backup and you're good.
Oh and Titanium backup works very well, you probably just don't know how to use it properly. Also, not all settings can be easily recovered among different ROMs, because, you know, the ROMs are different.
I haven't got time to follow every single [Tutorial] thread in here,
so don't know if there is a solution to back-up everything into 1 file (similar to *.ghost back-up file in Window).
Thus, +1 with the demand of WarLockW above

Right .. you can not .. use the settings .. Not thats the point of this ..
The Point is we need a easy way to backup CURRENT ROM .. and restore it.
Without having to do 1000 things that may or may not work.
1. download one of the partition files, if you don't know which one you need, use the 250M one or check with rom developer.
( Were does that go ? And Why Do you need it ? - What One Do I Need ? - Again Hmmm .. )
2. Extract downloaded zip to a folder of your choice

4. boot into magldr and select USB Flasher option while phone is connected to PC

6. After complete, again boot into magldr and select "Boot AD SD" option
7. ClockworkMod recovery should load, you can flash a rom from here.
( Have you Looked at the Menu's ? ) Hmmm .. Ok then ..
Ok .. Or Run a program that has two Options ?
Backup .. Restore ..
Hmmm .. Wonder whats easier ?

But Again .. I am dumb .. and may others are too ..
We Need a SIMPLE Way to back up these dam roms ..
That works 99-100% of the time .. and dont have to worry is this rom compatible with this partion ect.
MAGLDR 1.11 works 100% and is easy!
Thats all I am Saying .. SIMPLE Being the key word~!
Imagine a backup inside of MAGLDR. That would be great. I want to try different ROM's but like you, find CWM too confusing. Even if I do back up a ROM using CWM where does it save? And how do I restore it if the ROM I flashed isn't to my liking? Does the whole ROM be in the file or just your data, apps, settings etc?

Yeah, I don't really see any tool backing up a future or old ROM, cause you know, that's not possible. Nandroid is really just 1 thing, and it always works.
1. download one of the partition files, if you don't know which one you need, use the 250M one or check with rom developer.
( Were does that go ? And Why Do you need it ? - What One Do I Need ? - Again Hmmm .. )

Where that goes is explained in step 3. Patience, young padawan. Which one you need is pointed out too: 250M, unless your rom dev told you to do otherwise. Having problems reading?
Why you need it? Because it's a necessary file, obviously. If you wouldn't need it, you wouldn't have to download it. I don't think you're after some technical in-depth analysis either, so just do as you're told. Easy, right?

Surprisingly, DAF.exe is in the zip file you just downloaded. Why do you need to do it? You're installing something here ffs, do you expect to magically install CWM without doing anything?
Yes it does, that's also mentioned in the thread.
6. After complete, again boot into magldr and select "Boot AD SD" option
7. ClockworkMod recovery should load, you can flash a rom from here.
( Have you Looked at the Menu's ? ) Hmmm .. Ok then ..

Which menu's? Boot AD SD is indeed in the Magldr menu, flashing a zip is indeed in the CWM menu's. Yes, it's in a submenu.
Ok .. Or Run a program that has two Options ?
Backup .. Restore ..
Hmmm .. Wonder whats easier ?

Yeah, that would indeed be easier. So quit all the whining and use CWM, seriously.

[Q] Installing new ROM- NEED HELP

hey guys i dont wanna sound like a dumbass or anything

thanks alooooot guys and i appreciate it in advance.!
the first one is quite simple (i think you use winmo). download and unrar it.find the folder android and copy this folder to the root of your sd.then in phone explorer go to sd-find folder android-click clrcad then haret-you'll see something like 'starting linux'.it may take half an hour at the first loading.each time you reset you go to winmo,so in order to go to android you'll do clrcad-haret.
the second ron is a nand rom.for that you must wipe winmo.
i forgot winmo is windows mobile
im already on android running 2.3.3. with sense ..any way i can get these two roms to work through android?
please and thanks
please guys, if any of u could help ..im really tryina get at least one of these working. please and thanks
do you have mgldr in phone? i should also say that these roms aren't stable yet. their camcorder doesn't work properly and tyey have graphic glitches(whit horizontal stripes)
yeah thats what i read but i wanted to try either way
what could u suggest that has sense, and is something somewhat advance? 720p or 3d... and that new sense 3.0 lockscreen?
thanks mate!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075703
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1185087
i can say these two are the best as sense 3 roms.they record 720p but laggy and only can be watched by paid app vplayer.you can find necessary informations in their op. for sd rom you can use the one you mentioned in op.
im sorry to sound like an idiot again..
but how do i install these two? because im more familiar with the ZIP way ,where i just copy them to sd card..go to boot menu and load them
thank u again mate!
these are zip files. do you know how to make nand partition? if not download and install this tool. download the rom you choose and put to your sd. make an sd-ext partition of 1 gb in sd (if you don't have one).then ask again when you are ready.also say which rom you have chosen.

i got mgldr, i got it when i first flashed my phone from windows..
so is that mean i download the magldr version and just run it thru bootloader?
no in mgldr you dont use bootloader to flash rom.first download and install this tool to your pc http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
if you have an eu hd2 you should also have an sd-ext partition of at least 1 gb. meanwhile download mgldr version of the rom and be careful if it is eu or tmous.put it to your sd.when you complete these turn here again.

alright so i tried just loading it into bootloader, and it got stuck on the htc; quietly brilliant screen
now i got the hd2 toolkit.. what do u flash with it?
you can flash many things with it. now you'll make a nand partition. you didn't say but i think you have ah eu hd2 (512 mb). if not warn me. now connect your phone to pc. go to mgldr menu(i hope it still works) choose flasher.see usb flasher...usb.then in nand toolkit choose mgldr repartition-choose partition size 'custom'-choose cache size 5-at left bottom choose repartition.write 240 in the opening window.
after installation complete in mgldr menu choose ad recovery-install zip from sd-choose zip from sd-find your rom.zip. after installation is complete reboot.
nope i have a tmobile us hd2
i edited my former post according to tmous.follow and ask for help if you stuck.
this is what it says at the end in HD2 toolkit:
An error has occurred
Read below for more information

and before that it said.. the program cant start because RAPI.dll is missing from ur computer. try reinstalling the program to fix this program.

Is this because you don't have an SD card? I don't see any point in attempting to run NAND Android without an SD card to be honest.
If this is the case I would advise you to buy one. Without one you will have barely any space for apps and stuff, and you may as well stick to windows if you aren't going to use any apps on android.
Nigeldg , i have one 8GB on the phone!
i'm reading some experience from members here , and i'm see some bugs reporting from members , for that then i'm afraid if i get any error during install OS android on Leo HD2.
Sure , i'm asking here before trying to work on HD2.
Anyway thank's for reply.
Don't be scared...
When you will begin installing android for the HD2 you will first install a bootloader-program (MAGLDR) that manages everyting for your phone. After that you will install the actual rom from your sd-card with a program inside your bootloader-program (Clockworkmod). If this failes in any way you still have the bootloader-program installed which you can use to try install a different rom.
In case everyting fails you can always start your phone in the real bootloader (vol-down + power on) and install the original windows mobile 6.5 rom with USB to go back to the original situation. (keep in mind you still have a hacked HSPL then)
The reason why you'd want to install roms from your sd is that all the best roms right now are only available in zip-packages which need to be installed from your sd. Just follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948 (or take a look at the video)

you should try looking in SD DEVELOPMENT lol,but to be honest, why would u want to install it on ur sd card when u can have nand lol,if u have it on your sd card, everytime you reboot your phone,it'll go back to windows mobile, stay well away from sd card, none of that **** copying intrid & zimage to the root of your sd card lol and haret to sort the sound out,go with nand, you won't regret it
I agree with Ty5982. Nand builds are much faster booting and reliable compare to SD. Any reason why you want SD build?

Agreed with other two posters, NAND is much better. As for your issue, I think it may be radio related, upgrade to HTCs latest official stock ROM 3.14
There's nothing wrong with SD builds. They're great for trying out Android without voiding your warranty, or to be able to dual boot Windows Mobile and Android, or to multi-boot NAND Android and different SD builds thru MAGLDR.
Just follow the instructions in the thread where you downloaded the build from, and all should be well.
Don't rename the folder that all the files such as HaRET and CLRCAD are in.
Go into that folder, open the startup.txt file in a text editing program, and check to see if it has a line that says Rel_path=
After Rel_path= it should say the name of the folder all your Android files reside in. If it's a different name than the folder name, re-name the folder to match the rel_path line, so if it says Rel_path=Droid69, then rename the folder to Droid69, and not droid69 as it is upper/lower case sensitive.
If you still can't get that build to run, try another I guess.

Dude, if you're worried about warranty you are on the wrong site
Also, even if it does void your warranty, Its easy to get your device back to stock. Its not as if you need to open your device and rip the warranty stickers to get Android on nand lol.
No, I'm clearly not worried about my warranty, I was simply pointing out that that is one of the advantages of SD builds. Some people are worried about their warranties, or afraid they might brick their phone flashing a nand rom, and the sd builds are a safe alternative for risk averse or less experienced members.
I didn't say sd builds are the only or best way to go, I just said theres nothing wrong with them. Additionally, I don't think this is the wrong site for those who are worried about their warranties, there's still a wealth of information on this site for those who don't want to void their warranties.

Which Radio do you have? I had similiar problems to you but changing radio resolved them all, the first boot of any SD build should not take more than 20min, more means you're stuck. But again, NAND Roms are totally better then SD - faster, more stable, better battery usage etc. And Android wins with WinMo 6.5 in every challange so I would consider flashing a NAND ROM if I were you. Hyperdroid for the very beginning - definitely the best ROM available.

I want to install the IceCreamSandwich/jellyBean rom on my HD2 SD card as well, its my only option since my usb port is broken. I already had gingerbread installed but I want to upgrade. I formatted my SD card (don't ask me why) by mistake. So whenever I cut my phone on it goes to the bootloader menu and somehow I navigate myself back to gingerbread. I'm a "noob" so I have little to no idea what I'm doing. Is installing this after all I've done even still possible? I need help please and thank you!

The guides are really simple. All you need to do is read evrything carefully. All the steps are layed down and are very clear. Would u like me to reccomend a guide?

After instaling Task 29 with Radio 2.15.50.14 windows won't run.It say green HTC and don't startup.
Thanks a lot for **** up my phone ...
What i can do ?
download radio '2.15.50', the 'nand toolkit' and 'paranoidandroid' rom from android NAND section. (You can change later, i'm just keeping it simple.)
phone into bootloader (voldown and power)
connect USB
when the word 'serial' changes to 'USB' on phone screen, ,
run hspl4.exe and choose 2.08.hspl NOT 2.08.0000, it MUST be 2.08.hspl ONLY.
when phone reboots, hold voldown to return to bootloader
serial changes to --> USB
install the radio (either run the customRUU.exe that came with teh radio,
OR
in the nand tookit, at the bottom left ''browse|install RUU'' choose browse and find the radio file you downloaded (RUU_Signed.nbh probably) then click install RUU
when phone reboots, quickly hold voldown to return to bootlaoder
when serial --> USB
in the NAND tookit click 'install magldr'
when phone reboots, don't touch it, it will start the magldr menu. if it doesn't,. you probably skipped the radio step.
In the magldr menu choose USB flasher
in the nand toolkit at the top left make sure 'magldr repart' is selected, then below that click the 150 MB
below that type 5 in the cache size box
then in the bottom left click 'repartition'.
when phone reboots let it load the magldr menu,
choose option 8 - AD recovery - this will start clockworkmod
in the clockwork mod menu choose mounts and storage - mount sd card-
copy the paranoid android rom.zip (dont unzip it) to your sd card
(you can also do this through a card reader if you have one)
still in clockwork mod, press end to step back untill you see the 'install zip from sd ', select that, then 'choose zip from sd' , , find where you copied the rom to, select it, sit back, let it install, then choose reboot system now.
done.
zzz i'm newbie,it looks a bit hard....
Can u support me via Team viwer pls? ...ofc if u have time..
It can't be more simple.. You can also use HD2 Toolkit thread (with screenshots). Link in my signature.

If you find a list of step by steps complicated, then no offence but you probably shouldn't be flashing.

If you just read everything carefully you won't have any problems. As samsamuel said you can't get simpler than that and just use SD Android if you don't know what to do.

listen and read this CAREFULLY. In order to install android on your internal memory ie. NAND installation, you have to follow these steps,
1. Install HSPL 2.08
2. Install Radio 2.15
3. Install MAGLDR or clK ( BOOTLOADERS )
4. Install CWM(clockworkmod recovery)
5. Install the Rom via CWM
6. Voila
You can google how to do this. Flashing means installing(if you dont know)
This is a very simple guide which takes you through all the above steps and all files are available for download. READ READ and READ somemore

Sometimes you may run into strange problems when you install the ROM.
Therefore, my recommendation is after installing CWM do:
- Partition your HD2 (using HD2 Tool) 170 Mb (Custom) and 5 Mb Cache
- Copy your ROM to the SD Card (Using USB Mount in CWM)
- Flash your ROM using Choose ZIP from SD Card
- Waitn till it has finished
- FLASH YOUR ROM A SECOND TIME (This may solve written data to Bad Blocks)
- Do not reboot but go to Advanged in CWM and do Error Report
- Copy Recovery.log to your PC Using USB Mount and check this with your favourite Wordprocessor (eg. MS-Word) and look for errors
- if there are errors, try flash again of go back and create a bigger partition (5 Mb Increments will work)
- if OK, then reboot type your SIM/PIN ans leave the phone alone for 5 nimutes at least (all sorts of homekeeping going on)
- Log on using your Google account and after you finish, let the phone finish all synchronisations (may take 10 minutes)
- Then fix your Google Play and start installing apps.
Worked for me

During the partitioning process is when CWM is installed, , partitioning wipes / resets the recovery partition, and loads cwm into it, so partitioning 'after' installing cwm is nonsensical.
I assume what you're essentially pointing out is that you have to select a partition size when installing CWM anyway so you may as well do it right the first time, right? Just wanted to clarify to anyone who was unsure of what this meant.

yea. for most users, 'partitioning' and 'installing cwm' are the same step. Certainly for magldr, , , perhaps cLK is a little different, but i suspect anyone that knows how to apply cwm without repartitioning, how-to lists don't apply to. Anyone that needs a list, however, could do without teh confusaion of figuring out how to apply cwm and THEN partition.
