I have a problem people. I was all excited when gingerbread started surfacing on the internet thinking we nexus one owners would be the first to taste it "chuckles". I have my nexus one which i purchased with google for almost 11 months now. Obviously knowing all the endless possibilities of rooting I went along with it. I have a Frg83d on board naturally in my case I unrooted my phone thinking I will get my gingerbread update which Is not likely to happen anytime soon.I will wait for my favorite cyanogen to do something with it before I put it on my phone again.I am sick and tired looking for a way to root my device again.I just can't find a way to do so. I guess even the whole process of unlocking the boot loader is a headache.I used the one click rooting back the with "androot". can anyone give me a simple way please to root my phone once again and to get my freedom back!!!. sorry for my English I am not from the U.S but I am doing my best. Any help with the bootloader and and easy way to root frg83d ..please help this is killing me.

Hi guys. I have been reading up on the forums for a couple days trying to figure this Root Unlock stuff out and it has me a little confused. I recently had a Samsung Galaxy S and rooted it no problem. But it seems that was much simplier than the things over here at HTC. So i have a couple quesitons. I am trying to unlock the phone from T-Mobile to AT&T. I understand that i could go to T-Mobile if my account has been active long enough, but sadly it hasn't.
1. I have found a couple guides on here explaining how to root and unlock but most of them seem overly complicated compared to rooting the Galaxy i used to have. Is this just due to it being HTC or have they just gotten way more complicated since then?
2. If i root it, then i should be able to unlock it so i can use it on AT&T by using the S=OFF guides i see around here right? I ask because i am not entirely sure what S=OFF even means, let alone what it has to do with unlocking the phone.
I have read a couple guides and it seems if i get it rooted it should be no problem to unlock using the S=OFF method, but it seems like rooting is a chore. If it is fairly easy then i will go for it no worries. And i understand that if anything happens it is my fault, i am just looking for the easiest method of unlocking this phone to AT&T aside from the unlock code from T-Mobile!
Thanks!

My advice would be just to go ahead and root that bad boy, in the process of rooting it will be the option to unlock it. The thread is in the sticky section of the dev section. I'll post a link in one second.
EDIT: OK here's the link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858996
Its pretty straight forward just follow it without shortcuts and you'll be fine.

I have an old Acer A500 that I want to fix up for my wife to Pinterest/FB and maybe a little work. I know it has some age on it, but it is in great shape! I would like to ROOT it and do some speeding up to it. How do I go about rooting and upgrading the ICS?
Thanks!

Which version of android does it have atm?
Are you familiar with adb, it's the easiest way to retrieve your tabs cpuid...Which you're gonna need.
If you want to run ics and root, you also need the unlocked bootloader.
You probably need to do some reading about the procedure, it can be complicated, but if you follow the steps in the guides you'll be fine. The process itself will take about 30 mins at most plus the time to download the tools, drivers and rom...so set aside a good 2-3 hours undisturbed...the process works best by completing each step thoroughly before moving into the next and not getting too hung up about trying to understand exactly what you're doing, lol...just do what the guides say!!!
Ok, so first retrieve the cpuid see my guide in my sig and it's stickied in tje dev forum.
Then also in the Dev forum is a sticky by civato to unlock the bootloader, it will be one of the first 6 or 7 posts.
That's about it!!! If you have any probs feel free to ask and we'll try to help
