Hey all,
I've noted that the recent iteration of Chrome behaves oddly when hitting on a video link.
For example, if I go to ESPN and hit on the play button, I'd hear the audio part in the video, but no video. The only way to get it to work is to get the link to launch in a new tab in order to select the video player that I want. This never happened before. My defaults are properly set.
Any thoughts on what this could be due to?
Thanks~
in chrome, mines show a pop up of what I want to use play the video. whether I want to use a browser, MXplayer, Stickit mediaplayer, or overscreen browser. it doesn't do it on all videos but I think its the ones not optimized for html5. or if its a flash type.
So I'm sure it is well known that the nexus 7 doesn't have flash, however for embedded youtube videos that most likely use html 5 ( I know because I can play them on my ipad just fine) I cant seem to get the video working well on the nexus 7. for example, I tried loading up a roosterteeth.com video, (doesn't matter which one all of them are the same) and the video plays but I have no control over it, no scan bar, no full screen, and the video is choppy. this is one terrible experience that I really wish someone could figure out how to fix. at one point I was using dolphin and once it asked me if I wanna play the video using a stock video app, however that only worked that one time and only in dolphin. Someone HELP!
Bump, anyone have tips?

I'm also wondering this, any ideas?
I'm using Dolphin Browser now and it has been updated to the latest, when I try and use this browser to play videos off DailyMotion or MetaCafe and put the video I'm watching in fullscreen, it doesn't stay in fullscreen. When it tries to fade into fullscreen, it immideately comes back again and it does that back n fourth.
Can someone else try with a video from DailyMotion on Dolphin Browser try and watch in fullscreen, see what happens, ty! The phone has to be held sideways so widescreen.
I was just getting used to Dolphin Browser and I have tested DailyMotion and MetaCafe with Chrome and that works perfectly. What Chrome does is I play the video from DailyMotion, it comes to fullscreen, the soft buttons fade into 3 dots and I can watch. With Dolphin Browser, I play the video and it goes to full screen but after 2,3 seconds it comes out of full screen and back into full screen, then back out of full screen?!!
Just tried with YouTube as well, trying to play a video in YouTube via Dolphin Browser, put it to full screen, turn my phone into landscape and the buttons keep popping from the side every 2-3 seconds.
I get the issue as well, don't know of any solution unfortunately.

Thanks for your response mate, glad to know it's not just me with the issue. I wonder why the problem is still there, do Dolphin not know about it hmm

Possibly not, you could always e-mail their development team (should be link on Google Play) if you want. Personally I don't watch videos in the browser very much but when I do this issue is incredibly annoying.

Ah, yeah I see it. I have sent the email to them, hopefully they will look into this and give me a response.
Bumping this up to see if anyone else experiences this problem with Dolphin Browser.
Get jetpack installed, it works with jetpack.

That's great, it works now. Thank you
Whilst we're on this topic, I've no idea what Jetpack does except that it fixes the Video Playback on Dolphin Browser. Are there any additional things to Dolphin that I might need for compatibility? What else do you use and any idea what they said Jetback does to Dolphin?
This issue is related to the application "Feedly".
I watched a video with the browser of Feedly. I stopped watching it in the middle by pressing the system "back" key, but the video was still playing in the background (I could hear the sound), even if I exited/restarted Feedly. Amazingly, even if I turned off the screen, the video kept playing. It seemed that there is no way to stop the sound of that video, so finally I restarted the phone.
Anyone encountered the same issue?
The webpage/feed I was browsing:
http://www.universetoday.com/103719/how-can-we-stop-an-asteroid/
You can reproduce the problem by add the rss feed to your Feedly reader and play the video of that webpage with the internal browser of Feedly.
With the Chrome browser, after exiting the browser the video won't play in the background.
Android version: 4.2.2
------------------------
What amazes me is that, in the past I had been looking for a way to play some video on Youtube in the background and didn't found a good solution. Someone said that that is not possible. But now I find that this is indeed possible.
Feedly is most likely the issue, try contacting the developer via email in the Play Store about this.
You can force stop the app in the settings or by pressing the recent key, press and hold Feedly, press "App info" and then press "Force Stop".

Hi guys,
Rooted (CF-Root)
Stock Samsung Firmware: I9505XXUAMDE (Vodafone NZ)
I have installed Adobe Flash 11 using one of the many .apk files found on numerous websites (pretty sure I got it from XDA) but I'm having some weird issues. On my S2 I had no problem watching streamed videos using Dolphin and installing Flash Player after they dropped support, it still worked fine.
With my S4 however, something weird happens.
When I go to the website for the video, the video itself will be black and nothing plays.. once i tap the black area 3-4 times the video will start playing but I can't see any video controls, there's no pause, no progress bar, no volume.. nothing.
I thought I'd try a different browser, using the stock browser I can't stream the video directly from the page, but it opens the video and streams it using the phones media player app... I prefer this, the video is clearer and you have direct control over the video.
However, I still want to fix the problem above, because I prefer using Dolphin over the Stock browser :\ Could this be an issue with Dolphin? but that makes no sense because it works fine on my S2? has anyone had this problem?
tldr: dolphin streams videos but no video controls appear, stock browser streams the videos fine but does it via samsungs media player on the device
appreciate any help.
