Be more specific if possible plz!
You bought it with android or you rooted your phone???
If you bought it with android then its clear that the one who did it it was an accident! haha..
Since nothing working right as i can see... you should start checking the followings:
Go to android NAND delevopment and learn how to boot it up again with the right way

if android 2.2 is on it it's just an old rom were these things didn't work. just flash a new rom that is up to date.
and it is normal that it turns on if you plug it in because magldr isn't able to charge the phone when it's turned off so it turns the phone on that you don't run out of power.
how to check the version of rom?

settings-about phone(last choice in menu)-software information
Android version: 2.2
Baseband version: 15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14
Kernel version: [email protected] #2
Build number: 2.29.405.5 CL293415 release-keys
Software number: 2.29.405.5
Browser version: WebKit 3.1
I think. There is only one way to try repair. Reflash to official rom. And after try android
according to the kernel it seems like this is one of the first nand roms. a lot happened since then. just read the guides about flashing magldr and cwm and then install a rom that is up to date.
I think i found the problem. The problem is flex cable Can you suggest which flex cable to buy from ebay?
APN data conection
I just finished installing Stock Desire rom on my Tmous, so far so good except for one mayor issue, at the apn screen i cannot configurate a new one, i read somewhere that the middle hard button (it would be the windous menu button) would promt a menu from which i can select "add a new APN", but it does not work, so i haven´t been able to configurate a data connection, wich means i´m wasting my data plan. Any solutions??
Thanks for the help!!!
did you install the old dft rom? if yes i would advise you to update to a new rom. lot of things worked there but the new roms are much faster and more stable and you don't have to install a better kernel and gps libs with working agps on your own.
and yes, the apn option should be there when pressing the middle button.
It's hard to instal a new rom over 2.2? Which method i can use to install new android 2.3 or 2.3.4?
Sorry for my bad english and thank you for your help

Good evening everybody. I had installed NAND Android 2.2 on my HTC HD2 yesterday. Everything has worked fine, everything exceeded expectations, but today, something happened. I had to turn off my phone and find my SIM card to enter the SIM number, because i had to switch operator, but when I turned the phone again, the backlight would not work! If I keep the phone under lights, I could still see the menus, etc. What could be wrong? The light in the hardware buttons still lit.

Try to turn up the backlight or switch auto backlight on. I've had it on a different build, when sliding auto backlight completely down, it turned of my backlight completely, allthough I could still see the display under a light.
Sincerely,
Mac

Thanks for the suggestion. But it did not work unfortunately. I found out that when I put the phone to charge, the little red LED does not light up. I'll try to install Windows Mobile again and then install NAND Android again, maybe it will work.
Greetings Tobseren
I have now installed Windows Mobile on the phone and the screen lights up again. I would therefore suggest that the recently released Android version of Cotulla has a bug. Or could it be my phone that there is an error?

You're the first one I know who has this issue, so it's to soon to call it a bug. Why don't you give it another try? Could have been a bad flash.
Sincerely,
Mac
I found out it had nothing to do with NAND Android. After searching on other threads here, I found that it is the motherboard that has some bugs. It was thus that the backlight would not work (because of "microperror") and that the phone would not turn on again until it had been without a battery through the night. I sent it in to my carrier, which I hope will replace my motherboard and not say it is a water damage! What could be typical of them to say.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

My phone has now arrived at the post-office, and i got an message from my operator: The phone is waterdamaged. This means that the phone has been water damaged from the previous user of the phone. I only used the phone from 21th December 2010 to 6th January 2011. Everyday it has been in the pouch and not been subjected to some kind of liquid! It's 345$ straight out the window. If my operator did not damage the phone even more than it is, it can still be used, but with the 2 errors, namely "microperror" and overheating.

First off I did search until I went blue. I'm having the digitizer failure problem with my HD2 which has HSPL3 and a stripped down winmo 6.5 rom. I Have been running android from the SD card.
The main problem is the phone is stuck in "boot as disk" mode when plugged into my USB port and I can't use the screen to put it in "active sync" mode. Is there another way around this so I can put the stock SPL and rom on? I know I must be missing something easy.
Boot in bootloader: power off, and then after powering back on keep the volume down button pressed. You can flash stock WinMo from there.

Thanks! This is really strange though. The screen is now responding after not working at all for two weeks. Any chance somthing was stuck under the volume button and around the screen?
I doubt it. There's being quite some doubt about these digitizer failures though, whether they are really hardware problems or just software. I have always been a believer of the first, but recent stories have made me doubt that. It's probably a mixture of both, so if at some point the digitizer stops working again in WinMo, get it fixed while you're still under warranty.
ok, I still plan on sending back in. I bought it 6 months ago, found a winmo and android roms that worked and never messed with it again.
So I'm guessing I just flash the stock rom it came with from the SD card then take off HPSL?
I'm actually not sure how to completely remove all XDA-traces, but I bet there's plenty of guides on that in the WinMo section!
Thanks again. Right when my digitizer went out it seemed like 5 more OS options opened up Win phone 7, boot straight into android etc.
I got the phone into active sync while the screen worked for about 2 seconds. Everything should be cake from here.
Thanks for your help.
Hello,
I have a small problem with my 8525, it turns off automatically, when it does the display fades slowly in lines but you can still see the last image that was on the screen.
When i press (hold) power button to start the phone again it dies not respond.
I need to remove the battery and put it back in order for it to Start again but sometime it just turns off again while the phone is starting.
Yesterday i tried to change the Rom and it stopped until i tried to access the internet on the phone. After that it started to turns off again and again. When i try to make a call or when i receive a call it turns of. It also turns off when it is charging.
I believe that it might be the Radio which is doing this or the battery but i am no expert of this thing and it is mere speculations.
I wanted to know what other knowledgeable users think about this and tell me what you believe r know it may be.
PS: Radio Version 1.16.00.00
Rom Version: Calamity HD
Previous Rom: I forgot what it was :S
Any help will be really handy,
Thank You!

Hello,
This night, i have flashed my HD2 with Android using this tutorial :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
Everything was Ok. I followed the tutorial, finally i flashed the device.
My phone started with new Android system, i setup my Wifi connections, operator config....
Suddenly when i pushed the power button, my screen becames black.
Now when i remove the battery and power on the HD2. I can hear the sound of "HTC Quielty brillant" 's screen, a sound when Android looks to start. Finally my ativity LED turn Green (Stay green). The screen stay black. But the button and the backlight works fine. If i try to power on with Volume down, my screen still stay black to but i can't hear sounds of HTC (It looks like boot is working but no diplay :l )
So there is my question :
Do you think my HD2 is bricked ? I don't think cause i can hear sounds but in your opinion ?
Maybe it's my screen which is broken ? But exactly when i used my Android ROM for the 1st time ! Strange ?! :l
Maybe it's a way to fix it ? I missed something ?!
Please help me My Chrismas presents was HD2, clothes, clothes, clothes .... If I bricked my new smartphone ... I d'ont' care about clothes :S
It might be a hardware problem, it is a known problem that HD2s have their screen cables under the power button. So it might be that.
But 1 question: when you say the backlight is working, do you mean that the screen is light up, but with black color, nothing showing? - in this case, your hardware is OK. If so, then you should try getting into bootloader and install another different ROM.
Or you mean only that the buttons are lit up? In that case I'd say that the hardware is the problem.
In that case you'll have to return it for warranty... But you'll have to get the stick ROM on it back again... Thats gonna be another problem.
Lots of problems, sorry to hear that...
Thank you for your help
This is the video of what happens when i turn it ON. lol

It looks to be this case.
But when i boot my phone with Vol.Down pressed.
It don't start same way. But there is nothing displayed ...
Is it possible that the way i flashed the phone is making that the screen don't work ? (With the version on Radio or something about flashing ?!)
The person which gave me the phone, stop warranty to put it on his newone
So i'll must to find a solution in every cases or accept defeat
Ok, from what I see, it must be software problem, because there is backlight after turn on, so the screen works.
now, have you flashed clk or magldr?
If clk, then try after turning on the phone holding the home button. That should start the clockwork mod recovery. Maybe it will start.
However, you should try connecting the phone to your computer and seeing if the PC loads the phone?
If so, you should download hd2 toolkit (search for it) and run task29 on it (that will erase the nand memory completely).
Then flash the bootloader again, then continue with ROM installation as before.
Hopefully after task29 it should start working.
But 1 warning! After task29, you must install bootloader immediately, BEFORE disconnecting the phone or restarting it. If you don't, you'll brick your phone. Bootloader must be installed before restarting/ rebooting the phone.
I'm no expert in all this, I recommend to do a lot of reading before attempting all this.
Good luck mate!
Thats not right, you can flash everytime after you used task 29, you just need HSPL.
Also the phone restarts by itself after using task 29...

I hoped someone would correct me i dont use task 29 from hd2 toolkit often, i'm on clk, so everything done through cwm.
Finally I tried what you recommend. To make a Task29. And it looks to work but my screen still stay black... I think there is a problem with the data connection between the phone and the screen... the connector must be badly connected or a little bit destroyed something like this... :l
What do you think about this ?
Thanks for your help. Sorry for the time between my answers.
I have written a clk guide that will make this process much easier for you. I'm on my phone and the YouTube video isn't working. I will update this post more once I watch video.
But as of right now it sounds like you need a new rom
Edit:
I've read more, and somethings wrong with your screen. Your screen can be broken and the back light still work. In fact, it sounds like everything works fine except the screen. I think you need to flash back to windows mobile and send it in for a warranty repair.

Hey guys,
So i bought my phone yestarday, played around with it for a while and suddenly my touch keys stopped working.I keep my touch key light on "Always Off" ..so i thought that maybe if i turn them on,it will do the trick..didn`t work, they don`t even turn on anymore.I did a restart, same thing...only that the phone started laggin` real hard (when i unlocked`it and while using the drop tray).I turned the phone off and on again, same thing..i turned the phone off, pulled the battery out, waited a couple of minutes..same thing.I eventually did a factory reset..didn`t work as well. The phone is stock, haven`t got around to rooting it so it runs on 4.2.2 with XXUAME2 build. One more thing..before i did the factory reset,i digged around the internet for a bit looking for a solution and i came across the *#2663# code...i used that and tried the Touch FW update but it only said "Factory keystring has crashed/stopped working" ..after the factory reset i tried the code again, but the Tough FW button does not appear anymore. Now,do you think it`s a software problem that can be fixed (i would like to avoid rooting since if it does not work i want to send the phone at the samsung cervice center) or it`s a hardware fail and i should just stop looking for solutions and send the phone at the service?Thanx for your time
P.S i had a GS2 so far,rooted`it myself,changed a TON of roms on it and never had a single problem...so for me GS2 > GS4 for the moment

Well, i think that to know if it's a software or a hardware problem you will have to find out by yourself.
First thing to do is to flash a new official rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41072377&postcount=1 (and you don't have to download the attached files in the post)
Then do a factory reset from the phone recovery (VolUp + Home + Power - navigate with the volume touch and confirm with the power button)
For the roms take a look here :
GT-I9505 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41072426&postcount=3
GT-9500 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41072392&postcount=2
And dont forget to search for the same rom that you have, before you flash , check it by dialing : *#1234#
And if you did all this and it haven't resolved your problem so it's Hardware, just take it to the Service center and don't worry for the warrenty because it will remind active and official even after the flash
Thanks for the info and the advice!
Though now i`m convinced that it`s a software glitch, because i just restarted my phone and the touch keys turned on (unless samsung managed to build a phone that self repairs).I`m gonna be on stand-by with that stock rom, just in case it starts acting up again.
L.E Ok,the touch buttons crashed again,so i flashed the stock firmware and they are working now.Hope they don`t die again
Thanx for the help,again
many lastKi
Well, still no luck ..the touch keys keep getting unresponsive..after a while they sprung back to life and so on
I reflashed the stock firmware a couple of time, same thing...
When i use the *#2663# code and press the Touch key FW update it gives me a "Unfortunately,FactoryKeystring has stopped" error, i should mention that on the menu it says:
- Phones`s Touch key FW version: 0x10
- Part`s Touch key FW version: 0xfa
The only app that i have on the phone is WhatApp ....sooo ..dumb question, could WhatsApp be responsible for this behavior ?
L.E i rooted the phone, intalled CWM and the Google rom for GS4 ..touch keys didn`t even buged so i`m unrooting as we speak, returning all to normal and i`ll send the phone to warranty tomorrow

It's funny you mention that, because my GS4 start to restart and shut down by itself. The first thing I did was remove WhatApp because was always gaving me errors and then pull the battery out for 1 hour, since then no more reboots or shutdowns.
I was on Wanamlite when I experienced that. But all I did was an easy reboot and when it comes back, I wipe caches xD and it comes back..
I also prefer the button lights to be off.. so it's always off from the very start

Ok,i just got my phone back from warranty (it`s the second time..the first time they just resofted`it ..LOL) ..and it`s all peeachy. They changed the whole screen (i believe it`s called "digitizer" ) and that pesky problem is gone. Also ..before this i had a weird effect when i was scrolling through menu`s...like the screen was leaking or something, but now it`s gone.To anyone else that bumps into this problem (i see that the HTC One has this problem as well) ...well,there`s no way around this unless you replace your digitizer.Cheers
