Hero wont boot after ROM change :/

Hi,
I finally got around to rooting and changing ROMs on my Hero after I read about the SimpleOneClick Method. So i did that to root the Hero. After that, I read this guide to changing ROMs
http://theunlockr.com/2010/10/12/ho...droid-phone-after-any-one-click-root-methods/
The root was successful, the ROM install was successful... but after restarting my device after the ROM was installed i get a Black screen and then the white HTC Quiet Simply Brilliant screen comes up, it only shows the HTC logo an the the Q appears and it freezes This just loops forever... what went wrong? Can I fix this?
You didn't wipe the data before flashing the .zip
Try again from recovery (home + power) and it should work.
sir, I thank thee
Backup worked, ROM install still doesnt Any 2.2 ROM you recommend? Preferably with SenseUI
LOL 2.2 and sense - not for a while mate!
Forget sense and use Froyo with Launcher Pro & Beautiful Widgets - will never turn back.
alright then, wadaya recommend for a ROM?

Help: Can not flash any other rom except MIUI

I was using Bionix-v 1.3.1 since last March, flashed over stock 2.2. I also had Rom Manager Premium V4.3.2.3 with CWM 2.5.2.1.
Recently decided to try out a GB rom. So I downloaded CM7 and MIUI 1.6.24. Tried to flash CM7, but just got a quick CWM screen with boot loop. Somehow using 3 button I could go to CWM screen and flash MIUI 1.6.24.
MIUI booted fine for me. One change I noticed is on power up I get the Samsung Vibrant screen and I new "Galaxy S Cyanogen Mod" screen. After that the MIUI boot animation starts.
Since it does not have GPS support I wanted to try Simply Honey 3.8 Revolution. But when I flashed Simply Homey it goes to Boot Loop showing Samsung Vibrant and then Galaxy S Cyanogen Mod screen. Then I tried other GB rom and got similar result. Only MIUI works and boots fine.
The CWM somehow changed to 3.X.X and it does not accept any FRYO rom having old style (with only update-script) file.
I even can not go to Download mode in any way. ( I have not tried the Jig method yet).
Please suggest any solution if you came across similar situation.
Because u were on a gb rom the way to get into download mode is different for gingerbread roms. Theres plenty of info on that on XDa, sorry dont knowit. But once u get the correct info to get into download mode the gingerbread way then odin to stock and all ur problems will be solved!

Thanks for your response.
I have never flashed GB rom using odin, only thing I tried is flashing CM7 using CWM. Does it automatically update the bootloader? If it does, why every other GB rom goes to boot loop?
You got a bootloop on cm7 because its a known bug, if you tried to install it again it would install just fine. You can go between miui and cm 7 easy outer roms are not comparable. I would like to know too if they install a custom bootloader, when you odin you need too install a bootloader too? That could be risky, that why i am scared to odin back.

[Q] [HELP!!] X10 Alive, but Deadd??! :( no Recovery

Hey everyone,
I was stupid and wanted to try Jerpela's CM7.1 Rom with ClockWorkMod. After trying the ROM I wanted to switch back to my Rom, or WolfBreak's Rom. But I had ClockWorkMod recovery because that was what was needed for the Cm7 rom. So I tried flashing the zip xrecovery 0.3 from the thread made by zdzihu. CWM recovery said that it could not install it.
So I went and booted and tried installing the apk for xrecovery. On the app when I installed it i had 2 check marks and 1 blocked symbol. I thought recovery had been installed so I rebooted and could not enter recovery. The freeXperia logo did not appear. The Rom booted and now no wifi. And also the root system is not RW, even though i'm rooted.
But even with this I could just use flashtool and flash stock gingerbread. Unfortunately the usb port on my X10 is wobbly and I cannot get connection anymore.
I would not mind staying on this ROM for the life of my X10, but unfortunately Camera, WiFi... does not work
Can someone please help me?? I really want to finish releasing my ROM and really want to see how far the X10 would go with the new sources released.
Thanks, and please help me. I feel soo crappy.
Okay
Do u have a memory card reader ?
If not then buy one
Place your sdcard in it
And copy the ROM in it
And put it on ur phone to try it ...
Hope that helps

[Q] Stuck on recovery screen after flashing

Hi all,
I recently decided to upgrade my 1 year old Samsung GT-P1000 tablet from its stock Froyo to a newer Gingerbread-based ROM. The tablet is not SIM-locked.
I tried using Heimdall to flash Technomancer's CM7 beta but I ended un in the CWM 5.0.27 recovery screen every time. I tried rebooting a couple of times, repartitioning and not, formatting EVERYTHING (/system, /data, both SD cards, etc) and I always end up in the recovery screen.
I also tried installing MIUI from the available CWM and again I ended up in the recovery screen. The only visible effect was that it downgraded my CWM version to 4.x (which I can upgrade with Heimdall flashing CM7 again).
While in the recovery screen I can connect from my computer using ADB and get a root shell (at least whoami replies with root).
I'm probably missing something really basic but I've been looking at many other posts and haven't been able to figure out what. Is there any extra step that I need to take in order to get a bootable system?
Thank you!
Wipe data in recovery

Already did that :-( I tried wiping data, cache, and still it goes back to recovery after rebooting.
Try flashing again with a different rom and telk me what happens

Press two times on the home button if you are in recovery

Frank2623: I tried doing that and the home button only moves the cursor. I tried other buttons as well but to the same effect, they only act as cursors and OK/back, no other effect observed.
YoshiFan501: After flashing CM7 for GT-P1000 I did try with MIUI 1.11.4 (Final Update), only I didn't know how to flash it from Heimdall and I just ran the update from recovery. I am also trying to locate other ROMs for Galaxy Tab. Any suggestion?
I did the exact same thing this guy did and have the same problem. Stuck in a recovery boot loop.
Did the same things, wiped everything, flashed different roms, miui etc, can't get out.
Can anyone provide a solution to this or tell me how to flash back to my old T-Mobile stock rom? I didn't brick my device did I?
Solution
Ok so I managed to get at least a stock 2.3 ROM, which is better than 2.2 and much better than not booting!
Here's what I did, in case someone else like Lucifus comes here with the same problem:
* Google for a stock GT-P1000 ROM like 001001-GB-Stock-Safe-v5.zip. Unzip it in a directory and untar the bundled GB_Stock_Safe_v5.tar as well.
* Install Heimdall v1.1, NOT v1.3 and open Heimdall Frontend (on 1.3 it wouldn't let me perform the following steps, maybe you get luckier)
* Turn on the tablet in download mode (with VolDown + Power)
* In Heimdall, select the PIT file from the 001001-GB-Stock-Safe-v5 and also the rest of components: primary boot (boot.bin), secondary (sbl.bin), factory FS, ...
* Choose a modem file (the Start button will remain disabled until you do). A quick google showed JPZ being the correct one for Android 2.3 and I for me it actually works.
* Recovery can be left blank
* Flash the whole thing
* It will reboot in recovery and output text on screen, including some errors
* Select factory reset, otherwise when you reboot again it will be stuck in the blinking Samsung logo (but you can power off, reboot in recovery and select factory reset then).
* Finally the Android OS boots
