hello...
i just flash new CM V7.1 RC..
but my GPS not working...
just searching that solution, i found i have to flash new radio image..
Radio_13.53.5524h-3.35.19.25 <-- mine
Radio_13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10 <-- want flash to this new radio...
i try flash using ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5 xx but nothing change...
if anyone help me on this.. or if have step by step how to flash new radio...
thank very much...
If you have already flashed the radio, then try to load your app which uses GPS, then the GPS icon will show. (It doesn't show when idle)
If that still doesn't work, reflash the radio v19.25, not 20.10

oooohh.. i will try..
btw which want is new radio image...
v19.25 or v20.10?
20.10 is newer, but there have been a few cases where GPS has worked on 19.25, but it didn't on 20.10.
i already reflash v19.25 but still not works...
try running papago gps around 15 minute out side my house but nothing happen...
gps icon on papago still seaching the satelite..
so any solution?
-Flash the latest radio image using CWM 2.5x
-Run Google Maps outside any building in an open area. ( go downtown or somewhere -near because usually, that is the place that has the best gps signal )
-Wait for the gps to lock on your position.
-Done
If it still does not work, go ahead and flash a Sense RoM, and repeat the procedure above.
After that you can go ahead and reflash a new RoM ( wipe data/factory reset before )
# Please note that when you first use Google Maps you also need Data Connection or Wifi to get the maps downloaded. The gps alone cannot do that so it will get stuck at ,,connection failed..."
Ok i will try...

Flashing CWM recovery will not change anything byond bootloader, flashing radio is another part - just search for radio for WF as zip suitable for your phone and country. Then in recovery (CWM recovery) select this zip as update file - but remember radios are depending of source of radio signal freq - as so on - EU differs from from Brasil.
I have'nt checked how works radio in my PL phone from BR - won't even try it

hi folks,
i got a really big problem: yesterday my SD card/partitions went corrupted. That wasn't really a big thing, i don't have any importend data on my sd. But all my programms (which where installed on the ext3 partition on the sd card) continued to work, so i thought it was just the fat32 partition which where damaged.
So, at the evening, i dropped my g1 from my desk. the sd card went out, and the g1 was stuck. no reaction to any touch input or keypress or something. so i took the battery out, restarted it and see that all apps where gone, and i don't get a signal strength any more. when i go to settings->wireless settings->mobile networks it instantly force closes...
i tried to wiped it a couple of times, but with the same result - the system works but without any phone services. it force closes when i trie to call a number or go to the settings and so on.
does this looks like a hardware issue or software issue? i don't know what to do next...
i am running CM build 4.2.3 with 1.4 recovery console.
Sounds like a hardware issue
Try a different ROM perhaps, but I doubt that'll help...
Do you have the latest radio and SPL?
Go back to stock RC29 by flashing the DREAIMG.nbh file to ensure it is not the software.

I have never flashed a radio or SPL... I went from my (european) stock image to CM builds since 4.04...
I really hope its just a software issue; i can't imagine that the antenna or something broke because it just fell down from my desk (and that wasn't the first time)...
I will try to install the htc recovery image and reflash the latest CM build; hope this works...

Can you check your radio version? Settings > About > Baseband Version, should end it 26i.
When i go to settings -> about -> baseband it says "unknown"... So my baseband ( = Radio/SPL?) is broken!?
thank you for your help!
Should i try to reflash the htc recovery image + cm build (i think those two roms flash the radio/spl theirself?)?
EDIT:
Ok, i tried to reflash the htc 1.6 recovery image and the newest cm build -> it worked (it took about 15min to reboot after flashing the two roms - i really thought i have bricked it)!
Big thanks to adrianK and everyone else for guiding me the right direction!
So, my phone IS a phone again...
Hi,
Already posted part of the situation in Amon_RA's recovery thread but neither of the answers there seem to solve my problems. Decided to post it here since the problem seems to involve aspects other than the recovery itself.
Here's the complete situation:
Had problems with RA recovery freezes since the start and with different versions. I could (and can) enter recovery mode (v1.6.2), scroll down the options but after 15 seconds the recovery just freezes and reboots every single time. Checked the version (H) and the MD5, they where all correct. Tried cm-recovery-1.4-32A and it seems to work fine but when I flash a ROM (1.6) I have similar problems with the ROM (freeze+reboot in "touch droid setup"). Curiously I flashed my hero 2.0.5 (1.5) and had no problems...
Tried booting the latest RA recovery trough fast-boot and it worked fine the first two times I did it (scrolled down the options for like 10 minutes and it didn't freeze). After that it did not work and got the freezes+rebooting problem back again. Tried ADB, Flash-rec and flashed the recovery but got the freeze+reboot problem once again. Re-checked the version and MD5 and they where all correct.
Why does this happen? Any clues?
Thanks for your help!
I'm kind of lost here...Could it be a radio or SPL problem? Should I re-flash/update it? I never had problems with the stock ROM so this situation is really odd...
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance!
strange... try some random methods here lol (I don't know if they'll work though but it can't hurt)
First, try flashing an ENG SPL, see if that makes a diff
If that fails, try flashing a whole new ROM/RADIO/SPL
for example: Since you're a 32A user, I believe you can flash the 6.35.x radio and the 1.76.2007 SPL and then use the hero recovery. Test out a rom on the new radio for like a day and try out the recovery. See if that freezes! (This doesn't really accomplish much though because even if it doesn't freeze, i think you'll wanna go back to the old radio to try out other roms lol. You risk bricking your phone if you don't understand this stuff so don't do it if that's the case)
But anyways, I'm a bit confused. What rom are u using?

So you can use the recovery fine, until you flash a rom? So when you flash a rom, your recovery beings to freeze. But when you flash a different rom, your recovery works fine? Weird. Sounds like a problem when you're flashing a rom...
I have no idea dude but what I would do if I was in your situation:
1) Flash ENG SPL, something like 1.33.0010 (double check everything, i dont like advising people to play with their spl/radio so dont just take my word)
2) load up recovery and give it a try! if all that fails...
3) I'd backup your phone via nandroid in recovery (i pray that it doesn't freeze lol)
4) Wipe wipe wipe
5) Go into fastboot, fastboot erase system -w and then try another rom! And if the rom is good, then go back to your old one. Try to find out what the prob is.
It appears that you're able to flash roms still even with your recovery freezing (so weird) so I dunno. Just give it a try I guess lol
very weird indeed.... question.. does this do this when plugged in as well as on battery? ive heard of some really weird issues with bad batteries....
i would try what kawata recommended as well.. kind of just a process of elimination...
hopefully you dont have a hardware issue..

Now I'm using stock 1.5. I tried cyanogen, superD and other 1.6 Roms and they all freezed at the android setup process. Used myhero for a week with no problems whatsoever. Since I have a nandroid backup done with CM's recovery I restore everything back as it was.

The Amon_Ra recovery freezes every time. It doesn't give me enough time to do anything...Now I'm using CM's recovery and I have no freezing problems while in recovery mode. The problem is after I flash a Rom and reboot. The ROM experiences freezing problems (just like the Amon_Ra's recovery).
Thank you for your answer and suggestions!

Hi,
Thanks for your answer.
I have never tried with the phone plugged into a socket but did it with the phone running on battery and connected via usb to the computer. Should it make a difference?
Could it be a hardware problem? I never had problems with the stock ROM or with the myhero ROM...
it could be hardware...
if you want to flash to new radio and spl please follow this guide to the T or else you will get a brick, you cannot flash radio and spl via recovery.
so...
follow this guide and all will be good... must have adb ....

Checked that guide but I'm unsure about this part:
If you do not have an Engineering SPL, download 1.33.2010 and flash through recovery before starting this procedure. Flash the SPL update.zip like any other update.zip file.

yup you can flash the eng spl via recovery ... i should have been more specific and said you cant flash new radio and spl via recovery

good luck

Hi again,
Still didn't mess with SPL and Radio. I'm still afraid I'll brick the phone..However yesterday tried a few simple things like using another sd card or entering recovery while plugged in. These two things seem to influence the behavior of the latest Amon_RA recovery but don't solve my problem completely. Example: When I enter recovery using the original SD card (2gb) the recovery would freeze within 20 secs max. Using another SD card (128mb) most of the times it would take longer to freeze (4 or 5 minutes). Sometimes it would not freeze at all. Although this seemed to influence what happened it wasn't constant and could not find a pattern. The same with the phone plugged into computer. Sometimes it helped. One thing is certain: with the original SD card and unplugged from the computer the recovery freezes within 20 secs every single time.
With the CM 1.4 recovery never had any freeze problems. It seems to work great while in recovery mode. The problem is after a flash a ROM I have freeze problems with the ROM itself (tried different ROM's, CM, SuperD, etc and got the same freeze problem). The only Rom that worked fine was myhero 2.0.5.
This is a very strange situation and I'm starting to think that this could be hardware..
Would that be a SD card problem?
try using another SD card and see if the problem still occurs
I am having exactly the same problem, did you ever find a solution?
Went from a fully updated magic 32A (1.76.0009H) now i'm at 1.76.0008
UPDATE: I just found that the hero recovery works (I would post link but xda doesn't allow new users to do that) however it may still be necessary to downgrade radio and spl
I had also same problem. My device is Magic 32A radio 6.35. Solution was to reflash recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img.
hey.. i just installed cyanogen mod 7.0.3 stable mod... i cant seem to use my wifi gps bluetooth and my usb tethering.. please guide me on how to make these work..
Please help me out with this..
- Open ROM Manager
- Select Install Clockworkmod Recovery
- Download this Radio and place on your SDCard - Radio_13.53.55.24H_3.35.19.25
- Then open ROM Manager again and select Reboot into Recovery
- This will take you to Clockworkmod 2.5.0.7. Flash the Radio file as a normal ZIP file. Then test your GPS WiFi and BT again.
Make sure your battery has enough charge before attempting this, and, do not interrupt the process of flashing the radio. If something goes wrong, your phone may very well end up as a paperweight.
does this clear my present rom data?? and i already have clockworkmod
No, it doesnt. The problem is Radio's cannot be flashed in Clockworkmod 3.x. Only in 2.x. Also, by installing Clockworkmod via ROM Manager, this is a sort of "secondary" clockworkmod on your phone, which wont affect your primary one.
In the entire process above, I am assuming you are on Clockworkmod 3.x. If you are already on 2.x, ignore the entire process. Simply flash the Radio file.
okay thanks.. =) and do i have to install any task manager and battery meters..
can you please send me the link of a nice theme too.. if you dont mind..
No. They are absolutely not needed. (Especially Task Managers) Battery meters can be installed based on your needs, although I like the stock battery %age mod in CM7, and use it, so dont really need any additional app. Further, I get extremely good battery life from CM, and again, dont require any optimizers as such.
A complete theme list for the CM7 Theme Chooser can be found here:

Radio need not be backed up, since it is common to all (Unless you are on a Wildfire with a special frequency support like 850MHz or your Wildfire is not A3333) . AFAIK, even Clockworkmod doesn't do it.

I donot think my GSM provider works at 850 MHz (I believe it be 900/1800 MHz), so I think I am safe on this account. How can I check if my Wildfire is A3333?

If you are on a GSM 900/1800 Network, and yours is a standard GSM Wildfire, it must be the A3333 in that case. (Still, cross check to be sure. )
Hello everybody,
I write down there a quick guide about ... how to flash any radio on your HD7
1. First of all you must have RSPL/HSPL on your HD7.
More info about how to do tha, you cand find HERE
2. Download any ROM posted by ANSAR or FOOTBAL or other on http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=783
3. If it's a zip file, then extract into a folder
If it's an exe file, then replace the .exe extension with .rar extension and then unrar into a folder.
4. In the unzip/unrar folder find and delete the biggest NBH file. That file it's the ROM itself and ussualy have more then 200 Mb.
5. Put the phone into bootloader mode (tricolor screen), conect to PC (you should see the change from SERIAL to USB on the white part on the tri-color screen), than run as administrator the ROMUpdateUtility.exe from the unzip/unrar folder.
6. The flash take no more than 2 minutes, the phone will reboot and you will have that radio flashed.
Pay atention, this operation will wipe all the user data. If you have NoDo or Mango unlocked with Chevron, you will lose that and you'll have to downgrade to 7004 to unlock again with Chevron.
Personally, I do this on a fresh flashed 7004 rom, then I upgrade until Mango 7712.
All the best !

i have a singapore operator HD7. bought from singtel.
a few days ag o i updated tot he july firmware update from HTC which moves the radio to 5.65
in these forums i see a 5.66 custom telstrar radio. so is this a newer version than 5.65?
should i install this custom 5.66?
A newer radio doesn't means a improvement in GSM or WiFi quality or battery life. It's also operator depending and what frequency (bands) use that specific operator.
You can try 5.66.09.21a (latest radio) from O2 rom.
Also you can use the custom wrapper and performing task 00 the phone will not hard reset after the radio flash.
Sent from my HD7 T9292 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
It doesn't matter which is the newest. You're best bet is to flash radio A. Test it for a few days. Flash radio B, test it for a few days & so on to see which radio works best for you.

First, for flashing with custom wrapper, try to flash directly into booloader mode (tricolor screen).
Second, 5.66 will work with your network, because it's a gsm, not a cdma network.
Third, if you can't get signal, you can flash, with the same method, the previously used radio.

Bands are a hardware limitation, radio will not change this. What was meant is that certain bands, regions, carriers may work better on a specific radio.
The wrapper does not seem to work.
How do I get it to work?
Anyway there is another by ansar which seem to update to 5.66 but it hard resets the phone.

And yes, after rebooting, you will lose the RSPL.
And I thinks it's better to read a little bit before asking ....
Ok I successfully flashed the radio. Its 5.66 now.
Now you can test and see if it's better than 5.65.
If not, flash another one.
