Cant go into bootloader - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi
I know this has been asked before, and I have read for hours.
But, this is like a big problem now.
I have installed HSPL 2.08 and aMAGDLR 1.13.
Something has gone wrong somewhere, and the phone uses one night to boot up any android version. It load over the night .
So, I want to flash in HSPL and MAGDLR again.
I do not have any WPH installed, so I cant get active sync running to flash.
So I need to go into bootloader. THIS I CANT DO!
I have tried like 100 times. Nothing works.
I have tried holding voldown pressing end call or red reset button. Always the white HTC-screen comes on, and enters MAGDLR, and if I still holds voldown, it scrolls down the whole menu.
Actualle I have gotten in booloader one time, but then I was not prepeard for it, and had to turn off again.
I know that my battery is quite poor. Can this have anyting to do with this?
Can I go into bootloader from inside android?
What can I do?

Remove battery,
Push and hold volume down,
Put battery back,
Press power and hold volume down.
And you are in bootloader

To make it clear volume down as to be hold pushed all the time until you get into bootloader.
Hope this helped you.
If it did, give me a thanks

Okay try this :
Remove battery,
With left hand press and hold volume down,
With the other hand you put the battery back in and press AND hold the power button, so power and volume pressed and hold, wait until you see the bootloader.
This will work (at least it worked on my phone 1min ago)

Also, when you're on MAGLDR .. Can you navigate through the options up and down? If not, then unfortunately you have broken volume rockers .

And if this does not work? Onlt thing that happens, is it vibrates, white screen with htc-logo and in to MAGDLR.
I have rootet many HTC phones before, not HD2, but hero and desire, and never had problems like this.

Some times, Bent Battery Pins can cause unpredictable issues (However, I have not seen one like this.).
You may want to check your battery pins, straighten them delicately if they are (even a little) bent.
You could try sd card flash method?

Why does my MAGDLR show aMAGDLR? This "a", is it suppose to be there?

yes, the "a" is normal .. did you check the battery pins?

Its possible that a task 29 and reflash would work. My home and back button stopped working and it worked itself out.

But to perform task29, dont I need to go to bootloader first?

same here
have the same problem. I can get into MAGDLR and I can move up and down the menu. I can install via DFT but I can't get into bootloader and I can't get into CWM. it is rather strange and I have not found a solution yet.
If I try option 8 (AD Recovery) I get - No Boot Sources

Yes you do. To get back you shut the phone off and while turning it back on hold the vol. Button down. Then do a task29. download the tool to your PC from the link below. Boot into the tricolor screen and start working. Install Task29, install magldr, install recovery, install rom from zip from recovery. :-D. forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783 pm me if you have any questions.

[Q] Clockwork Recovery Mod Stuck on Hat logo

I have ran AlphaRevX succesfully. I have pushed the CWR mod to the phone using instructions provided.
When I click recovery it loads cwr but whenever I click on any of the options the menu disappears and the logo just sits there. I can click the power switch quite fast and the menu just keeps reappearing and disappearing.
I am trying to get the su zip installed but I have obviously messed up something about the cwr mod tool.
Anyone have any suggestions?
EDIT:
I am officially a moron.
I got it into my head that you need to press power off to select the right option.
I started fiddling with the touch buttons and noticed they worked too. Then I clicked the track button and it selected the option. Ha.
Monumental error on my part. Must have pushed that cwr mod 4 times. Wasted an hour.

Remove the battery, put it back in and hold the volume up+down rockers at the same time, then it should restore, if not you're holding a paperweight

[Q] Any way to reboot the phone if it is hung?

Hi all,
I'm new to the Defy forum as I bought a Defy+ two weeks ago, working great till now. I have a question.
I used to own a Samsung Galaxy 3 in which there was an option to reboot the phone if it gets hung. We had to press the power button for 10 seconds and the phone reboots (hard reboot as we used to call it in G3 forum). Tried the same thing with Defy+, but this option doesn't seem to work.
So, how do we hard reboot the phone if it's hung? Any other way than removing the battery and reinserting it?
Try pushing all three buttons (Vol+, Vol- & Power) at the same time.

unfortunaly no there isn't any way to do that "native".
I do have that option now, after installing a Miuis room (pikachu), but, im unsure if that happened cause of the rom or just happened when i installed 2ndinit ...
Sorry. really new. :S.
If youre interested in starting to "go deep" in the phone, then, root it, install the 2ndinit for the defy (wich you will have to do if you ever want to get a custom rom), and try
hope that helps (?) :S

[Q] MAGLDR boots directly to Android

Hello!
I flashed my HD2 with Android 4.0 (NexusHD2) and now I can't access recovery or bootloader itself... It just boots directly to android, it says:

GO, GO, GO
And then boot animation is shown.
Any idea how to acces bootloader?

Do you have any idea how to use xda search button? have you even read the magldr thread to know how to access it or access recovery?
before you answer that, go use the search button, type magldr, go to magldr thread, read it ALL (YES ITS VERY LONG) read ALL INSTRUCTIONS carefully 9 times, and then go to bootloader. you would realise how to do it eventually. hope some mod locks this thread as there's been too many similar

[Q] Defunct power button, can't boot into MAGLDR?

I have a busted power button (end call button) and was wondering if I could boot into MAGLDR without it directly booting straight to android. I know that I'm supposed to press the power button at the MAGLDR boot sequence to reach the menu that lets me use CM recovery but I'm not able to do that. Is there any way in which I can install a new ROM on my phone without actually using MAGLDR and CM recovery? Or any other way to make me reach the MAGLDR menu screen?

You could try getting into the bootloader then flashing everything from scratch. To get into the bootloader without the power button I think you can take off the back cover and press the small reset button near the SD slot (using a pin or toothpick) while holding volume down. From there, if that actually works, you can flash a Task 29 followed by MAGLDR, CWM and a new ROM.
Or alternatively, there is an old legend that says "reboot into recovery" & "reboot into bootloader" from within Android let you reboot into MAGLDR, do you believe in legends?
(According to the scrolls, this legend may only be true if you have Android already installed obviously)
EDIT:
Actually, you can do that without having android working (e.g. you're stuck at the ROM splash screen or in a bootloop). Just use adb to reboot into recovery/bootloader and you should be in MAGLDR.
Apparently the scrolls were wrong.
You do realize that I mentioned that my power button was busted so it wasn't possible for me to boot into recovery through the power-restart prompt menu from within the ROM after booting. Or is there any other way to get that prompt from within the ROM? Infact from what I know, telling it to boot into recovery never did work on my HD2....I had to press the end call every time I wanted it to get to the MAGLDR menu.
