Download mode, flash new kernel.

If the three button mode is creamed then you need a jig or try downloading the free one of the market it may repair the old one

Can't get it into download mode too.. When i hold down 3 button, the sgs logo popout followed by the logo with cm7. Tried "adb reboot download" thingy, but same result appear.
Did remove battery for couple if minute, and reinsert it, but no valid.
Erm, whats a jig? I did some research, its a 301k resistor plug thingy? Its guarantee to work? Any idea where i can buy it?
Thanks all

I manage to get into recovery now... What to do next? Flash new ROM? Any to recommend?
Edit: Then, i installed CM7 #102.. However, the process is kind of fast. is it normal? After it says, checking DML/BMC? (Something like that, Can't Remember) And it says: Install update complete. SGS Kernel flasher still can't work, Still unable to go into download mode...
Just a question.. if i can't put this phone into download mode via, "Adb reboot download", will the USB JIG still work??
Cheers

Ok, I have ordered a USB JIG from eBay, and i was just wondering, Does it works? Because, I already tried to put the SGS into download mode via ADB, but this thing just happen to me. Tried also, to plug out battery, hold down both vol buttom, Blah blah blah...

Upgraded through KIES to FROYO buts stuck at BOOTING & VIBRATES

I have just upgraded to FROYO through KIES after 3 HOURS of waiting.
But my is stuck at boot screen & vibrates..
i had tried the recovery but no use.
please help me...
Take the battery out, try recovery mode again.
Or you didnt uninstall your lagfix before updating.. If so, do a factory reset in the recovery console.
i did that by VOLUME UP + HOME + POWER.
it went into recovery mode i did every thing NO USE.
did wipe all data, factory, format sd card. Still no use.
i heard about hard reset VOLUME DOWN + (press & release) POWER
then clear storage.
BUT HARD RESET is not working for me..

If you are able to enter to download mode then try reflashing via odin it should work.

how much time would it take through ODIN for flashing???
I got the same issue here. And my SGS can not boot into download mode by hold 3 buttons.
Anyone knows what's the option for me now?
Thanks
Hi
I had the same issue it vibrated and didn't boot up. Remove SD Card, go to recovery via VOL UP + HOME + POWER button when you see boot screen releae all buttons. You are in recovery mode. Vol up down and select wipe data/ factory reset, confirm and your device shall boot.
My SGS booted after this and Yes I had OCLF lagfix installed, device rooted which I didn't remove prior to update. Now its fine again.
Now i tried to flash it through ODIN.
It was taking a long time so i stopped
it is displaying this

From this screen you sholud be able to enter in downloadmode. And, but I'm not sure, from this screen Kies should be able to recover the phone too...
Any way:
Always is a solution.... Search here, on forum, about JIG method to unbrick Galaxy S. You have to made a 301kohms rezistor and connect it on 2 pins from a usb cable. You'll see more pictures, it's easy to made it...
This JIG rezistor will always put the phone in download mode. From here you can reflash with Odin any rom you want.
But, if Odin stopped, there are 2 possibilities: you don't have the phones drivers installed corectly, or (and most important) you don't close Kies from Task Manager before launch Odin. If Kies is runing will take the comm port busy and Odin can't use it to comunicate with the phone.
Always close all Kies applications before flashing with Odin. It's very important.
Good luck.

I did not find that recovery.....
does that have to work if KIES pops some recovery of os????
please tell me a way to flash back to
original DDJG4 india firmware...
and is it possible to upgrade to FROYO using KIES after flashing???
have you tried adb search youtube for a tutorial. you can reboot/recovery or download and much much more.
MAKE SURE YOU ARE IN DEBUGGING MODE WITH ADB. and i take out the sim card and ext sd card.
you use commands like c:\androidsdk\tools\adb reboot download
c:\androidsdk\tools\adb reboot recovery
c:\androidsdk\tools\adb reboot
also try apk 3.0 this lets you install apk's via your pc right to your phone, search for z4root apk on this site and use adb to reboot into recovery to apply update.zip
hope this helps, i also have no 3 button combo

Not sure why you would purposly stop Odin while it was running. All you are doing is creating a worse and worse situation for yourself by doing things like that.
It seems to me that you do not know enough about flashing, etc to even be concidering doing so, so... I reccomend that after you finally get your device up and running again that you ONLY flash through Kies and dont do anything else as you will likely end up with one issue after the other...

personally it amazes me when i read some of the horror stories on this site, i find it very couragous that anyone would attempt this without proper research, .
some of the complex hacks i am seeing just aren't needed, yet people risk bricking their phones. Anyway good luck to all who venture in to flashing, you dont learn if you dont try and without mistakes we would not learn as much so thankyou i know no what not to do hi.

no....where to find this file???
Here.
Sounds like you have some more reading to do though, man.
EDIT: Also, make sure your phone is in Download Mode.
Do the reading but here is a start
1. Download Eugenes 'Froyo that does not brick' file.
2. Extract the files.
3. Open Odin, plug in your phone, then put it into download mode.
4. load the PIT file in appropriate area.
5. load the .tar file in the PDA area.
6. DO NOT check 're-partition'.
7. Click start, let it finish. Your phone will load and reboot into stock recovery. It will error out again. DONT panic! This is what's supposed to happen.
After it flashes then go back and reboot.
This should get you back to a place where you can reflash. Then shut the phone down. Then remove the battery for at least 30 secs. the put it back and reboot It should come up just fine..............NOW you can go from there.........BUT ..........DUDE...........READ and use Google... This is all out there good luck
thanks man. yeah i am really confused rite now. and i am new to all these things. please bear with me. so after downloading this file. and putting it into PDA. and starting the process. what would be the next step or it would be the last step.
the thread about it says.
Put your phone to download mode (hold down: volume down, home key, power)
Do not plug in your phone yet.
Start Odin3
Tick "Re-Partition", and also check that "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" have been ticked.
Click "PIT" button and select s1_odin_20100512.pit file.
Now, plug in the phone and wait until Odin finds it.
Click "Start" button... <Firmware update start...> <Get PIT for mapping...> appear. The phone will turn off and the screen indicates "Reset". Wait until Odin indicates "Pass".
Plug out your phone, remove the battery, put it back in and put phone to download mode again.
Click "Reset" button in Odin and untick "Re-Partition" box.
Do not select PIT file again. Just leave it empty.
Click "PDA" button and select "CODE" file.
Click "MODEM" button and select "MODEM" file.
Click "CSC" button and select "CSC" file.
Plug in the phone and wait until Odin finds it.
Click "Start" button and wait until phone reboots with the new software version.
It doesnt say to put PDA file on the first start. and where do i find the modem and csc files. thnx man. n sorry for so many noob questions. i seriously need help.
By "start Odin" it just means run the .exe file to open Odin.
No need for the modem and csc files.

Yeah, I just read through the directions in your post. Personally I never go through all those steps. It may be a mistake, but I've flashed using Odin dozens of times and never had a problem.
Just load the 'PIT', load the 'PDA', check re-partition (if applicable), then hit 'start'.

That's the issue I have too, it seems it is bricked because the bootloader is locked. I would recommend just getting a warranty repair on it. I was refused that because I have already had a motherboard changed and now they refuse to do it again.

Ok here's what I did
Download mediafire.com/?1hbk6n46hgamyt6
Unzip it, and find UPDATE.APP
Put UPDATE.APP in a dload folder and upload to empty sdcard.
Put sdcard in phone, and hold vol+/- and power and flash it.
After phone has restarted pull battery.
Download http://www.mediafire.com/?6hrfz36b8e2vw87
Unzip and copy the dload folder to empty sdcard.
Hold vol+/- and power and flash it.
After it fails near the end or if it restarts then pull battery.
Download a rooted boot.img and a clockworkmod recovery.img (got both mine from links at modaco)
Attach phone to PC in pink screen mode and delete the boot.img and recover.img files.
Upload the downloaded root.img and recovery.img to image folder in phone.
Download any custom rom from XDA, I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1475687 and upload it to sdcard
Pull battery.
Hold vol+ and power and go into clockworkmod, wipe everything and flash the custom rom!!
Good luck!

You need to goto ODIN mode.
After inserting the battery try to turn on the device like this, Volume DOWN + Middle (Home) Button + Power button.
You'll see Primary ODIN screen then press Volume UP to continue to ODIN mode.
After that open Odin on your PC and connect your phone.
Then flash it via ODIN stock ROM version.
Good luck.

Maybe try a different USB port on your computer/laptop or try a different USB cord try a different Odin. Try to download the stock firmware again was your phone charged to 50% at least

You need to wipe data and cache, even if you install a rom in odin the older staff dont delete. you need to install via odin, then go to recovery mode and do all 3 wipes, wipe data, wipe cache and dalvin cache. it will solve your problem garantee

noticed that my phone went off, so i turned it back on and its stuck on samsung note 4 logo, restarts after 5secs, i downloaded the firmware n910h run it with odin everything went smoothly but phone still does the same thing, install philz recovery maybe i could check whats really going on with the internal storage, but phone wont boot to recovery, wont turn on either please help
Same problem here!
I find myself in a quite similar situation. After a while with a ROM that didn't perform as desired (overheating and randomly turning off) I decided to try to flash the latest stock that worked fine and then maybe try CM or something else... Problem is that now I can't even enter in Recovery mode. The only thing that works is Download mode, otherwise I'm stuck in a bootloop. I've tried everything, even restoring from KIES (which seem to work fine... until the phone gets into the same bootloop).
Please guys I need to fix this! My phone is fairly new and I don't wanna have brick that expensive... And I don't know what else to do!
PS: Download mode says that the binary is Samsung Official, but the status is custom and the KNOX counter is 0x1 (4)...
Kill the Kies processes on your computer before flashing with Odin. If it doesn't work try another USB port and use the original cable.
You should be able to find a tar or md5 version of the recovery that you can flash with Odin.
PS. 0x1 means that a custom recovery or root is or was once installed. This will always remain like this. It can not be reset.
same problen i was trying to flash recovery from flashify app but i flashed it like a boot image now im stucked into samsung logo and i cant enter to the recovery becuase the phone has no recovery mode and no downloading mode i think im ****ed up and the bigest problem is that phone when i plug it in the computer shows me that has no driver so odin cant read my dvice to flash something on it please if you know samthing tell me show me pls
i have the same problem
N910H boot to download mode but cant boot to recovey and stuck on logo
any one solve this ???
