Upgrade video codec on ROM - Desire HD General

Hello,
I used RCMix3d v2.5 (2.3.4 Gingerbread) rom. This rom it's very smooth fast and stable but the video codecs are not updated and several of my videos are misread.
I would like to know the location of the codec in a rom to update my rom RCMix3d ?

Nobody knows how?

the codecs should be stored in /system/lib/ .
but there are also some video players with integrated codecs like dice player (.mkv in hardware decoding for example).
Sent out of my Free Candy Van.

thank you very much ;-)

I have not tried to update the video codec of a rom, but right now I use the CoreDroid v8 also based on a version 1.45.401.2 and the same problem on RCMix3D 2.5/2.6 (2.7 not tested)

Play Mp4 file on Media Player

Hi Gusys
The operating manual indicates that media player is able to play quite a number of video file formats, including AVI and WMV. However, my just simply dont and come out an error message that it does not recognise the file / format, especially when I tried with AVI. I tried with Mp4 instead and it works.
Anyone know why? Do I need to install any sort of encoder or driver? Or do I need to install other better player?
My choice is CorePlayer v1.1.1. build 1600.
Just need to enable under tools menu many video formats, then most of videos will be playing...
Hi Sas sas

Does the version you recommended the latest one?
I done a search online, seem that latest version is coreplayer ppc v1 2 3 build 4012 cab.full.
Hope they are the same thing we discussed here.
Look forward to your advice.

Thanks for your time and effort. I will check on this.
I had this problem myself and I am using Typhoon too. I noticed that video quality is poor and I tried a few other ROMS and the best I could get was with JW MIUI (a maximum of 12 FPS). Starting with a few weeks ago, I had the pleasant surprise that video recording got improved (with a minimum of 5 FPS and a maximum of 30 FPS). The converted video has an average of 15 FPS and the quality is ok. I am using the stock camera app, I made a comparison with MIUI Camera and the result was the same. The downside is that these apps use S263 codec. lgCamera didn't provide the best results for me. I tried with all the codecs (S263, H264 and MP4), I got the best results with the same default codec S263 but the video looked like it skipped frames. Bottom point is: I use either the default camera app or MIUI Camera.
so just curious
is it build issue or Installation issue?
for me as soon as i start video recording it gives error
I m using default "camera" app

Well, it depends on the build you are using. Try going into CWM and run "Fix permissions". Is this happening after a clean install or after an upgrade?
actually it is done by other person.it was clean installation.
I m new to customize the mobile. so was checking if it is Installation process issue OR issue of Build.

BLUETOOTH!!

I have been looking for some help for what seems like an eternity now.
In Tytung's ROM : NexusHD2-Gingerbread v3.2a (GWK74)(Android 2.3.7)
with the r_14 update kernel with callrec, all audio output (Winamp,Proamp,Youtube, TuneIn, Pandora, etc.) is streamed thru bluetooth without using and apps or tricks.
I have tried an endless amount of newer Roms including ICS and now Jellybean and I cannot duplicate this feature.
The rom only streams the native audio player only, if it even does it at all.
My question is, is there a way to copy a file from the Gingerbread rom to the newer rom to make this work or is it in the
kernel itself??
I like flashing new roms, but always go back to Gingerbread for the streaming audio through bluetooth.
Can anyone shed some light over here before I pull ALL of my hair out???
