Can it be rooted?

There are yet no methods for 2.3 rooting because the only device with 2.3 on the market right now is Nexus S which can be "rooted" using oem unlock command.

I am sure it will be in due time

I just recieved my Arc, tried zRoot and SuperOneclick, nothing able to root it.
Tested speed, Q total: 1663, CPU over 2000. This is great, flash works great, HD PLAYER is excellent, demo HD video play so smoothly on both phone and DEMO TV.
So far, I don't see need of root.

Is there any other rom that can match up to MIUI? Everything else seems so stock and plain... and I've loaded a lot of them. Anyone, anyone?

Why switch roms, if you like MIUI so much anyways?

Miui has shut down thanks to nix apparently. Well, not the Chinese, just the site and bringing it to English.

I guess warttack and some other will be starting up their on miui Inc site...

I was wondering what was going on with the site. Warttack and NIX are no longer porting for the Inc, however, War said he will post new builds on Twitter.
MIUI has been my daily for about 3 months now. I was missing some aspects of HTC Sense so I gave Warm Z a try and it is a very nice ROM. The problem is MIUI's UI just blows everything out of the water and is soooooo smooth. It's hard to use anything else!

miui+tiamat 3.3.8 kernel is bombass. on top of that, i recommend the ilstonerules theme because its the most stable iphone theme. depends on what your into though. i used to be all about lp, but switchin it up every now and then is fun. miui is a great daily

Yeah! Wart, NIX, Wow all have decided to part ways with MarkHuk and the site but im sure they'll post them on this site... I also saw somewhere that they have a new site coming up. I think Warttack posted it, I went to it and it said coming soon! SOOOOOOOO lets hope for the best!
Ive been on this ROM forever now and have no means of switching. If worst comes to worst ill port it myself like i did with it when it 1st started. (its just time consuming)
Its a sad day when Devs cant get along and people have personal agendas that get placed in the negative light!

I don't think we have the ability to resize photos.

I don't use Twitter either but you can still go to the site and search for Warttack though.

Everything is slow on my x10 (gmail, yahoo, Facebook..)

Seems like everything slows down on this phone Facebook app, gmail app, yahoo app. And this is with me killing all the apps. Anybody have any idea what is going on? Maybe I have too many apps installed on my phone?

Or
Get a new Stable 2.2 Rom which is faster

Yahoo app slows down ur phone and eats a lot of battery

I'm on the stock ROGERS 2. 1 ROM. I'M waiting for the stock 2.3.3 ROM to upgrade.
I'm on :
FIRMWARE: 2.1 update-1

KERNEL: 2.6.25
BUILD NUMBER: 2.1.1.A.0.6
Really the yahoo mail app uses hat much memory?!
And on top of that it doesn't work properly.

sorry to say buddy, but just like your phone, your're slow too.. there are already much faster 2.2 and 2.3 roms available for x10.. and they are awesome, fast and stable.. updrade to them and have fun..!!

you need to be rooted
busybox installed
recovery installed, then you are ready to flash any rom available in the development thread..
the most fast and stable froyo rom is of wolfbreak.. try that

I'd still even look into rooting and running a custom rom.. much quicker for any phone. Rooted my cousins x10 not too long ago. A bit more complicated than my phone but worked so much better. Definately recommend doing so. Youtube helps a lot as well haha.

I'm pretty sure he meant it's 100% based on AOSP rather than 100% functional

yeah sense is cool too & many are looking forward to it, J had some promising progress with it but left it, Not sure why

The reason why he left it was because on ecalir HTC had put many restrictions and locked every Apk very tightly
It would be easier now because people for MOTO Droid with a diff chipset omap and powervgr have ported it
The main thing is decompiling and changing parameters
Like swappiness , RAM , etc

I dunno much about this stuff, but there was another thread about it recently & if I remember correctly even achotjan was involved but nothing released, maybe you should contact those & J, to avoid starting from zero

I've been wanting to try AOSP GB with fps fix and custom kernel from J's 2nd post but I'm not familiar with making boot.img's so I'm trying to look into steps of how to make one... BB.67 btw

Pm sent back and its cos of the customization of MIUI that makes it a great rom
We already have Trip and Cobrato working on it so why would we need another MIUI rom? Doesn't. make sense....
I want to see another rom which isn't on the x10 yet

Some people really need to improve their English here and besides, there has been not a single bugless software released in the computer world.
@OP -- I say go for it, and make it available for all basebands since we have kernels supporting all basebands now.

Kernels are available for all basebands but as of yet roms aren't
And because you cannot use internet whilst in phonecall on 2.0.XX (.46.49.52) and other things,roms on 2.1.XX (.54.55.58.61.65.67) are recommended for battery and signal strength

The App is nice but I like using the ICS theme for ADW Ex better. It looks nicer and it has the real icons. If only I could get a stand alone app of the menu carousel and the keyboard!
