Hi there,
I have VW droid pro used in Australia, it's already unlocked so it's the same as other handset sold in Australia.
my system is 2.2.1, since there's no root option at moment for GB.
But there's two issues,
1. there's no enable/disable data roaming option, If my data connection goes to roaming status, I will charge a lot for data usage. Is it available on GB system? or have other options?
2. I can't activate "Hide my number when make outcall", just google for a while, VW use their own system to hide number not depend on handset. Are there any other method which can be used to hide the number.
Any suggestion?
All the best!
1. settings - data manager - data delivery - data roaming on/off
2. settings - call settings - additional settings - caller id

Does anyone know if there is a way to connect to a normal ISP, using a GSM connection, instead of GPRS. I have data calls on my t-mobile account, but when i set up my isp details and dial it, the XDA tells me the remote computer is not responding, when it blatently is, cos i can dial it using my laptop.
Hi Dave,
If you are UK based T-Mobile have released their GPRS service last week. They have a number of packages including 0.075p per KB or £15 for 10MB.
Its not on their website but their staff know about it.
Simon.
Your settings are wrong. Put the correct settings in. Ask someone who knows what the correct settings are in order to discover the correct settings
Maybe it's not all about wrong settings.
After I tried to connect to O2 using GSM from Danmark last week, I called O2 Germany and they told me it won't work. They have no roaming partner for GPRS in some countries and they disabled the GSM for whatever reason. The old numbers I could use to dial in last year won't work any longer. I get timeout error messages or "The connection you dialed does not answer". (It doesn't say it don't exist!)
Considering to quit O2 and use T-D1 again instead. I am very disappointed by the O2 net coverage.

OK, some networks do not support GSM data, and frequently networks will not have GPRS agreements with other networks in other countries.
Can you register onto Telia? In Denmark I believe they have GSM data @ 9.6kbps
You also need to make sure that your home network enables 'full' GSM data, maybe that's what you meant in your post. If they switched it off ask them ever so politely if they'll turn it back on.
I connect to the net using the wap number which is included in o2 minutes on the 250 package, (the gsm internet number was not included minutes) you can change the number dialled in the connection settings box. also set it to "always dial"
check the number dialled as it puts a prefix depending on country settings etc you also need data enable on your sim which is done thru your gsm provider. Sorry if i'm saying the obvious... hope this is of help
Dave, you need to have T-Mobile enable CSD (Circuit Switched Data), which is off by default. There is no charge to have this enabled.
I know there is very few people that have dual sim installed in there mobile but those few all agree that there is little programs that takle there issue, therefore i would asked programmers to think of this software & am the first buyer
1. Ability to switch between cards by (On-Off) (this functionality is in Wivit SW)
2. Ability to connect each Simcard profile to Specified Connection accounts, i.e. If i choose operator A choose its MMS & GPRS seeting & if Operator B is choosen then select another MMS & GPRS seeting
3. Ability to have SIMcard switching Duration, i.e. Run Operator A for 50 Mins then OPerator B for 10 mins (even better if you can choose what days in a week it will do that.
4. Default operator to start with, i.e. Always have operator A on even after reset (so if i reset and it comes to Operator B it switches it back to Operator A
so anybody willing to do the little progy?
regards
I'm using XDA II and what I use is a Ghost Dual SIM holder.
I have two SIMs, let's name it SIM-A and SIM-B. When I'm using SIM-A and want to switch to SIM-B without turning off the phone, I just activated the "Flight Mode" to ON, which turns off the SIM, and when I turn the "Flight Mode" to OFF, SIM-B will be the one activated.
thanks but i was looking into more funtions other than switching network, i have wrote a software using mort scipting the does many usufull functions
my software does the following:
1. Switched from 1 network to another (Manually by Single Click)
2. Software stays 2 hours on network A & 20 mins on Netwrok B (Automatically)
3. Every time it switches to a network it chooses its respective GPRS/MMS Settings
4. Evertime you (Manually or Automatically) Switch between networks you can set a different ringtone to that specific network
* this software is free & its posted in this forum, just look under my contributions
regards
On my Sprint S4, the Domestic Roaming Guard selections are greyed out. They automatically get checked when you tell the phone it's okay to use voice and data while roaming, but there is no direct way to turn the guards off. First time you do a data connection, it gives you the roaming guard warning but gives you a checkbox to turn the message off in the future. And sure enough, that greyed out line in the roaming guard screen becomes unchecked. But every phone call made or received throws up the roaming guard warning without a checkbox to turn it off in the future.
It seems other Sprint users are seeing this same greyed out behaviour. Sprint support says it should not work that way, but can't confirm it as they have no S4's to play with yet.
So my question is, are other carriers phones working this way as well? How about phones with the latest updates (MDL, MDN, MDN)?
To check it, goto Settings > Connections tab > More Networks > Roaming > Roaming Guard
Almost 60 views and nobody can help me out? I don't know if that means nobody wants to check it on their phone or if everyone has it greyed out or ??
It's greyed out for me also
I bought this Nexus 7 3G used. When I put in an AT&T sim card from my Galaxy Note 2, no phone no and IMEI displayed, is it defective?
I doubt its defective, probably just not set up correctly.
Goto Settings then under Wireless & Networking click More.. then Mobile Networks and make sure Data enabled is checked. The you will have to find out AT&T's APN and enter that in Access Point Names and then choose a Network operator. In a nutshell, copy all the settings from the working Note 2's Mobile Networks settings.
Start with that and report back.

Did you get the data working correctly with the sim card ? If so.....
It doesnt need to be modified, just use a VOIP app like Groove-IP, its works in conjunction with Google Voice. I use it to make and receive calls on my wifi only N7 all the time.

I bought a T-mobile sim card $10 and another $16 for 8 days of use + tax. Inserted the sim card and then I did not know what to do with it and put it inside a drawer and today I got it, it said no services and the T-mobile cell no. was gone. Before I bought the sim card and the $2 per day charge, T-mobile CS said I will only be charged when I used their services. I did not used their services just inserted the sim card and now there is no services and no cell phone no. on the sim.
I registered with Google Voice and get a new number but I have not yet set it up how to use with free VOiP apps on Play Store. It is not as intuitive to make a call as an ordindary cell phone.
I am in UK and using BT/EE as SIM1 and Lyca Mobile as SIM2 on 6T and currently using stock OOS and stock phone/dialler app. Ensured that call waiting is on for both SIMs - checked via going into SIM settings i.e. Dialer -> settings -> Call Settings -> SIM 1 -> Additional settings -> Call waiting is ON and Call forwarding is OFF.
6T being dual SIM active means during a call only 1 SIM is active (so.. this is equal to having 2 smartphones giving the user liberty to engage on one or both calls at the same time).
Anyways, I don't get any notification or beeps to let me know that there's a second call while I am already on one call. Call conferencing functionality would also be limited.
My wife has a OP5T and she has the same issue.
Any experiences, help welcome!
