[Q] GB Bootanimation? - Vibrant General

Does anyone know if its possible to a custom boot animation on a 2.3.4 Rom.
I am running a 2.3.4 ROM and using Bullet kernel and boot animation.zip don't work
If someone can put me in the right direction I am will to create request boot animation for them

Not at this time no because we don't have a kernel that supports it. I have a kick ass boot animation that i'm dying to put on my ROM but can't yet.

CM7
Now why does CM7 Have a kernel that allows boot animation when they are on a 2.3.4 Rom?
Should people look into those kernels and find out how to port to our 2.3.4 roms

[Q] EB01 Boot Animation

I used the Search above and jsut came back with Q like is it compatible from DL30 to EB01, so my question
Is there any Custom EB01 Boot Animations? and if so where can i find them?
Edit-I'm not looking to swap out a WHOLE theme jsut for a Boot animation, im looking for a stand alone boot animation!
Rom manager under sonofskywalker. But you fist have to install the voodoo kernel jt has listed because the stock kernel does not support custom boot animations

JT' BootAnimation Kernel?

Hi, I was browsing through the BlackHole section and jt's boot animation kernel was listed. Just curious it's NOT a voodoo kernel right? And it works well worth eb01? Thanks

blackhole section of rom manager?
I could be wrong, buy I'm pretty sure that kernel only works with Eclair roms. Since we have no source code for the Froyo kernel, there are no custom versions, other than the one that gives you the Voodoo lag fix. Any kernels that advertise any other modifications will not be Froyo kernels, at least not right now.

The boot animation kernel in ROM Manager is for eb01. JT was able to hack on some additions to the stock kernel without source. There's also a voodoo lagfix kernel that he put up, it's in development. It doesn't have voodoo sound though.
Thanks guys, I'd wanted to make sure it'd work with eb01, rather be safe than sorry.

If you are trying to use an EB01 Froyo build then use 2.4. It has Boot animation enabled just not with sound. Use this link to get it. It supports animation but not sound on boot. But it does support shutdown animation and sound. I have aperature science shutdown with sound and droid peeing on an apple for startup animation.
I don't actually need the boot animations, I was just looking for a nonvoodoo kernel to use with blackhole 4.2. Idk if that makes sense but right now blackhole will not work and I think it has to do with my stock kernel. Thanks for the suggestion though, if I can't get blackhole to work I'm definitely gonna use SC 2.4.

[Q] Custom Kernel bootscreen kinda weird...

I flashed Twilight and everything is great except the bootscreen has "android" in the middle of the screen when it boots. I swear I've read how to fix it before a couple weeks ago but now I cannot find the the post. Will anyone help? Thanks!
Edit: Nevermind, I did a little more digging..

Care to share what you found. I have the same issue. Flashed the genocide kernal it's working great other than the goofy bootscreen.

It friends on the situation. If your on a custom rom that has a boot animation in it you need to flash the rom and kernel a second time work out wiping.
If your on a rom that uses the stock boot animation you need to delete the stock animation and add a boitanimation.zip to system/media.
I forget the exact files to delete

The fix will be in the kernel, not the ROM. It was never a ROM problem and never will be. Samsung broke RNDIS in the kernel.

Need to delete boot*.qmg from /system/media/
And then PowerOn.wav from /system/media/ I believe for the bootup audio

Franco kernel on stock rom

Is it poosible to flash Franco kernel while using stock rom? I know it isn't designed to work, but what would happen if I flashed with stock rom?
Will anything from the kernel work. Are there bad consequences?
I really like what the kernel offers but the small bugs inthe custom roms keeps me using stock

I think that is only for oxygen, miui and cm7 roms, so probably the device will stuck at boot screen if you put it on stock rom.

[Q] ICS MIUI for Defy+ (GB Kernel)

Ok, I think the title is clear enough but, I'd like to know if there are any MIUI ROMs for the Motorola Defy Plus with a 2.3 (GB) Kernel. Thing is, I have Quarx's CM9 on Multiboot but I'd love to try ICS MIUI on it, but I understand I have to flash Froyo Kernel but don't know what would that do to my CM9 I'm so in love with.
I've searched all the threads on xda and the web but I haven't been able to find what I'm looking for.
Thanks!
Unfortunately Currently there is no miui build that works on gb kernel.

Thanks for the reply! Is there another rom that I should try? I don't really know about another interface for 4.0 but it would surely be great if there were one.
Edit: I have another question, is there a way to install a froyo kernel on multiboot so i can keep cm9 (GB) on my default boot? I already have multiboot but I'm not sure if flashing wiui, for example, will damage the other rom.
Look at the miui ics thread by sesme

Well as far as I know multi boot requires same kernel for the roms. I don't know if any recent development has changed it. You may check multi boot thread.
