HI ALL,
I had a htc magic and I have suffered with low configuration, so I thought to buy a HD2,the problem is that the hd2 was released since November 2009, so it is still powerful (with sense 3.0, SPB Shell 3D, regina 3D launcher, ...) ?
is the htc desire HD more powerful than the HD2 ? but the desire can not run the WM & Android
sorry for my english
i think you should choose HD2 if you will try WM & Android

The DHD isn't really much more powerful than the HD2. It has very slightly better hardware, but it's negligible.
The HD2 has some issues with Sense 3, I have not found a ROM that doesn't lag at times, so I stick with CM7. If I had a Sensation though I'd probably put an AOSP launcher or CM7 when it was out...
Between a DHD and HD2 I'd get the HD2 any day of the week, the only real upgrade would be a Sensation or GS2.
i saw 2 videos, the first was a hd2 running htc sense 3.0 et the second was the HDH with the same os,the hd2 lag and the HDH doesn't.
and what about using live wallpapers and HD games ? will the hd2 lag or not ?
why does the hd2 lag with the sense 3.0 ? is it lack of RAM or what ???

that's true, but CM7 runs about the same on both.
I've noticed that native Android devices tend to run Sense 3 better, maybe a driver conversion thing, but the Evo I had with a sense 3 ROM ran it really well with no lag, and every sense 3 ROM I've used on the HD2 lags.
If you want lag free Sense 3 get a Sensation, I would bypass the DHD altogether.
The HD2 runs games and apps just fine on CM7 or AOSP based lighter ROMs.

Hi Guys,
So there are many Desire HD Sense build around now for the HD2. I've tried them few though most of the issues have been sorted out and are smooth also. They still don't feel as snappy as the regular sense and I don't see much advantages over regular sense...the flying animations are also there in MDJ Revolution build....Is it about the extra eyecandy only for which all this hype is...or am I missing something
Regards
Im on froyo hd 4.3 by mdeejay. AND IT ROCKS. Desire HD builds have latest gen sense which is highter resolution(Several elements are smaller so that they fit in the screeen) that Evo and everything just looks better.
For me the bigest advanced of HD builds, is the extended goodies in Browser, and for me is faster than other froyo's.
Well I don't use the inbuilt Android Browser Much...its mosty opera mini for me..becoz its faster and saves bandwidth...
One thing i liked though is inbuilt task list in notification bar...its definitely a cool feature..
The percentage battery bar, keyboard with arrows and revised font size are worth the using of the Desire HD Rom.

for me: 1)lcd density (displays more on the 4.3 inch screen, unlike before...it showed the same as a 3.2" device)
2)htc sense . com
3)customizable (skins, skins, skins!!!!)
3) improved camera
I agree with op, the desire hd builds lag.. This is no fault of the developers as it lags on a DHD...
Personally vanilla android wins my vote.

i liked the desire HD build until the superfast rom i got with quadrant score 2775 :S itz the fastest smoothest i had till now... no lags at all..using 2 memory cards now... one for desire HD one for JDMS ultimate

I like the fact that you can re-order your pages, which I've not seen in any other build (I don't think it's in the Evo build).
When you click home twice, it brings up the pages and if you long-hold on one you can drag it round to re-arrange them.
That's a very nice feature that I'd like to see introduced into other launchers.
I'm with FrAsErTaG though - vanilla Froyo FTW!
^^yes, ordering of pages is nice...but its mostly a one time thing...atleast for me..so once its set...its all set...
Funny, I'm not able to see higher pixel density or such...its appearing exactly like sense clean which i used earlier...i'm on core droid HD v0.2 btw

What are the benefit/downside for Desire versus Desire HD builds?
I read somewhere that Desire may boot up faster whereas Desire HD may look better on HD2? Any comments are welcome.
I have SD/RAM darkstone right now, which uses Desire base. What's a good comparison RAM build for Desire HD?

All you are going to get here is opinion. I would honestly suggest backing up your data, and trying both out. The only true way to make a decision is to try each one.
For my opinion:
I use Desire base, not HD. I believe it is more suited to our phones specification, it is less buggy, and does everything I need. Even 'stock' HD's have issues that HTC are trying to solve, so the devs here have no chance to fix some things, until HTC do. Also, I have a 512 HD2, so the space issue is a big player for me. If you have 512MB leo, you're probably better off with a desire build, if you're on TMoUS, sure, go ahead and try a build you like the look of.
HTH
Desire HD has some nice eye candy and some new HTC widgets..that's just it (also there HTC sense online services, but i don't use them)
Personally I use the desire HD/Z hybrid (CMYLXGO's 15Jan one) becoz I like the eye candy and it works fine for me without any hiccups. Initial DesireHD builds were laggy and buggy...but developer's have ironed out the bugs and phone feels as smooth as Desire build...you have to disable live wallpaper though...it has big performance penalty
Thanks. I may try it out since I have a tmo version. I assume the rom you recommended is non ram? I haven't tried an android sense yet either so it may be somewhat worthwhile.

wow, didnt expect HD to be faster than DHD! thanks for the input! btw, just out of interest, how do the screens compare between those three devices? im guessing SGS2 would have far better screen
Galaxy S2 is faster, but some programs may start faster on the HD2, and I know that's strange! and it happens randomly. probably related to background processes or something.
HD2 is also not always faster than DHD, it's just the huge amount of tweaking the HD2 ROMs get that they feel faster, but that performance is ROM-dependent.
If you get two tweaked ROMs, one on the HD2 and the other on DHD, and both from the same developer (Core team makes ROMs for both as far as I can remember), I bet the DHD will be faster.
Samsung screens IMHO are the best on the market, but having to deal with a none-sense droid phone with not much of custom ROMs is a pain.

I run NAND Android on my HD2 and have been running Android on mine for close to 9 months. Granted I run a non-sense ROM (Hyperdroid-CM7) as my daily driver. But I tested dozens of NAND Android ROMs for the HD2 and it run pretty much all ROMs very smoothly with the exception of the Sense 3.0 ROMs, It was laggy with those ROMs. The MIUI ROMs run pretty smooth on the HD2 but you do have an occasional lag here and there, but I stress the word occasional.
As for your original question the HD2 can hang with just about any native Android device on the market with the same or close to the same specs. Now keep in mind I am not talking about any of new devices sporting dual core processors with bigger RAM and mor memory.

The only real lag was when you would first open a app sometimes it would take somtimes the a second or two to open. It would also happen when you would be transitioning from one function to another, you know like when you opened the phone or camera. But it was always just a second or two delay/lag nothing that is intolerable. Or nothing most other native Android devices do from time to time. But the Sense 3.0 ROMs were borderline intolerable, at least for me.
Ehi guys, i have an htc hd2, and a friend with htc desire asked me for a change.
What do you think?
Wich is better, and why?

Well very similar hardware so neither is really better, but I personally would take it. Android is native on desire so things, I would assume, would run slightly smoother, and the desire now has full (well nearly full) HW acceleration lol. Just my opinion.
It depends, advantages of the Desire are the properly multitouch screen (not just 2 like on the HD2) and native Android. HD2 on the other hand has a bigger screen, more OSes/customisation and is (I would assume) generally much, much easier to flash. IMO, stick with the HD2
I would say HD2, you really notice the smaller screen,
The HD2 has limitless posibiltys : WP6.5 one day WP7 the next Android the day after Ubuntu after that,
Desire is android one day android the next.
There is no real speed difference and android on the HD2 when flashed correctly is just as good if not better with so many ROMs.
I would say HD2

i had a desire, then i bought an HD2, sold my Desire 4 days ago, the HD2 is a great phone about the native android experience i found my HD2 ran android better than my desire and it have much greater OC, the desire only goes to 1.2 ghz, where my HD2 goes to 1.6 ghz,
and about the touch screen the touch screen on desire is even more sucky than the HD2, only 2 point touch screen and ****s up somethimes it thinks the fingers are at the opposite points
edit: sorry for my bad english :/
HD2 is awesome in my opinion.
So as the title says, witch htc hd2 android room works with themer? And does it lag?

All Roms working with Themer. But sometime can happen it lags because of the low performance of the Rom and limited Device. If you run ICS 4.0.4 on HD2 you should not have problem. All this days the apps are made for high-end devices and HD2 it's far back back away so you can't complain if sometime still laggy a bit.
