A few weeks back i bought a second T-mobile HD2, I have the exactly same configuration in both, radio 2.15.50.14 , magldr 1.13, and i´m booting a miui build via sd card, and i noticed that in the one that i bought recently the photos are washed out comparing to my first one, they seem to have the same age, yellow reset button.. is it possible that they can have differebt hardware?? i took a snapshot with both so you can see the difference, is the same build, i booted the sd build with magldr, then took the photo and then removed the sd card and booted with magldr the same build in the other phone and took the snapshot..
have a look:

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/828/img22082011105259.jpg/
does anybody noticed anything like this?
any insight will be appreciated, thanks.
check camera settings first. are they on the same brightness, saturation, contrast ?
If he used an sd build and took the same sd card in both phones as he told it, the camera settings are the same.
Thank you guys for your reply, They have exactly the same settings, i´m using the same sd card for test, After I started to use the other HD2, every time i took a photo I noticed something diferent, the colors and the sharpness of my second HD2 looked different to me, thats when I decided to test and the result is amazing, now I understand why some people say that their hd2 camera is not that good, I´m thinking in order one camera module from ebay and replace it, but i´m worried about the quality of those camera modules.
SOLVED.. I opened the HD2 that was taking bad photos to see the camera module and discovered that the camera lens had a few very small fingerprints in it, cleaned very well and gently and voila.. good colors and good photos.. If one the mods can please edit the title of this thread and put there the word SOLVED I would be very appreciated.

Hello
My working place don`t allow to enter it with devices which have built-in camera (the reason is to prevent industrial espionage).
I have 2 options, the first is to buy very old phone without camera - i prefer not to do this and the second one is to disassemble my hd2 camera.
I have seen the youtube disassembling hd2 video but in the video they didn`t disassemble the camera.
My quastion is if it hard to do it?
Can it cause to some software problems?
Is someone here have ever did it?
Do you have some guides or good links for this?
Thanks and sorry for my english.
Ofir
Maybe you can modify the software so that the camera doesnt work.
What OS do you have on your HD2.
Hi,
Thanks for your answer,
I`m using andriod 2.3.3 but your solution isn`t good for them.

Oke thats kinda sucks.
I thinks the best way is to remove the cam en then remove the software as well.
I will try to find some more info how to remove it safety.
Remove the camera bezel, then electrical tape over it with the cover off. Put the cover back on, and volla! No camera.

Hi,
I`m looking at the video,
Is the rigit flex board is used only by the camera?
Is it ok if i remove it from the device?

From the point of view the sound control buttons are on the rigit flex board as well.
your actually willing to break a fully functional Leo just for work are you crazy, wouldn't it be less hassle if you just got a different phone, what happens if you need to claim on your warranty at some point ??
just saying.
Screw it leave the camera in and do exactly what they are afraid of record everything. Post on YouTube

Basically im installing a new digitizer, i have the old digitizer out and new one in.
Just wondering if it will be safe to put the smallest possible amount of glue (only thing available) on the plastic around the digitizer, to hold it against the housing and stop it falling forward???
If not anyone know what i can use to hold it in place?
p.s i mean smallest!

thanks in advance
EDIT: Gave up on waiting to see if this was safe or not so just went ahead and did it All Seems fine phones working fine

Chris,
I saw your video and it really helped me repairing my gf's phone, thanks. But I really wish you went this bit further and had shown how to properly replace digitizer too. After some struggling I have succeeded but I'm pretty sure that I screwed both with removal and replacement (digitizer works but has poor sensitivity, doesn't react to finger push, requires light nail stroke).
Cheers.

I really need your help on this one guys!
I unpacked my brand new Nexus 4 yesterday. Everything seemed fine until I fired up the camera app. Everything was really blurry and the autofocus didn't seem to work at all! We're not talking about some minor autofocusing problem here, but a huge deal breaking disaster...
I then also noticed that when I moved the camera really close to an object, the image got sharp! So, it's like it's in macro mode all the time or something. I've tried to restart the phone, factory reset etc. NOTHING works! The worst part is that I can't even go to google and replace it, because I live in Finland and got the phone brought home to me by a friend who visited USA... Is there anything I can do to make it work?
I also tried a third party camera app (camera zoom fx) in which there were several focusing modes, like macro, normal, auto and infinity mode. Didn't matter which mode I used, there was no differens..
Have any of you guys experienced the same problem? I know there's been a lot of talk about the Nexus 4 camera, but I could never have imagined that a brand new flagship phone would have these kind of problems right out of the box. Please help me.
This may sound a bit stupid, but you have tried simply cleaning the glass over the lens and checking it for scratches right? You seem to have tried a fair amount of things so it's likely to be a hardware issue of some sort.
Not trying to be a smart ass, but did you remove the plastic film off of the backside. I made that mistake before with a different phone. The film was barely noticeable because it was only over the camera lens from inside the cover, so I just thought the phone had a sorry camera. Otherwise, it sounds like you could have a defective camera.
Also when you take a picture, hold the button until the focus ring rotates and locks on the 12 o'clock position, then let go of the button.

Claasical case of yet another defected user.
Hi everyone. Today, I noticed that something is covering my front camera lens.
Do you know what is that piece covering the camera? Anyone encounter this situation?
I didn't drop my phone not even once and I tried to smack the top of the phone to see if it moves, but no luck.
P.S. The camera is able to take pictures normally.
I have a SM-N9005.
Thanks
Go exchange it... Looks like a faulty device. It could be a piece of electrical tape in the wrong position.

Looks like some sort of cover for the camera.
Maybe this site can help understand: http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Samsung+Galaxy+Note+3+Teardown/19209
But i think @nicholaschum 's solution will work best.

I don't think they will consider to be a faulty device and change it, although I would like a new Note 3 :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
To me, it seems to be a soft plastic that keeps the front-camera in position and not to touch directly the front-panel (display assembly).
So, probably they will change/remove the soft plastic
GO to your provider an request a NEW device
Do this : Contact 1st Samsung Service in your country and tell to them the problem becouse this a factory fault phone .
After you make some papers and a proove that you contacted already the samsung Service from your country , contact your seller and show him the problem
YOU MUST proove that : you did NOT DROPED your PHONE , DID NOT SHOCKED YOUR PHONE with some other things , like drop with speed in bed trow in the pillow etc etc , proove that you did not used any screwdriver , to have ORANGE WATER SENSOR in the back under the battery STILL ORANGE and NO ROOTED PHONE .
THEY WILL CHANGE YOUR DEVICE , BECOUSE IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIX THAT IS A PART OF A PLASTIC THAT WAS SLIPPERED FROM HIS PLACE .
Please help me, I just noticed that when I take a picture up close, my camera seems to only focus on the part that I touch, even though it's a flat thing like my monitor. It's like I'm applying tilt shift to my picture.
My Note 4 model is N910H and I'm on Sweet Rom V3, and installed camera mod from the apps forum. Tried using stock camera and 3rd party apps, still get the same result.
I uploaded some picture I'm taking from my monitor with my note 4 so that you can understand what I meant.
Is this hardware fault? or is it software?
Looks a bit too extreme. Just tried that myself - SLIGHTLY blur at the picture's end, but just slightly.
Your pictures look like taken with "Background Defocus".

Yeah, this is really bothering me, when I want to take a picture of documents I can't read the whole page because of the blur.
I am reluctant to bring my note 4 to samsung as it already root so I guess my warranty is gone

I have removed them from the first time I unboxed it, even if I didn't remove it, it has hole in the middle so it should'nt affect the camera.
I have also tried cleaning the lens to no avail.

I know. - But there are many users not even noticing it - and it's possible that the film shifted a bit, so it might cover a little part of the lens.

Please try any other camera software. As said: It looks like that typical "defocus" effect - maybe that feature is still on although you can't see it being active.
There's a simlilar issue with the Sony Z3 front camera (the main camera IS an issue itself): There's a "Soft Skin" effect, causing massive blur. You can switch it off - but it still remains active.
So it wouldn't be the first time.
So I am not alone.
I am having similar issues with my camera.
Took it to Samsung for replacement. They were offering repair on a 10 day old phone.
Anxious to see what happens next

Glad I'm not alone with focusing problems...
Here is my topic : Note 4 camera won't lock focus + blurry edges on pictures with far focus
Best regards,
Chris.
Nope, definitely not alone. I am having similar issues with my camera, and I have been having them since I got my phone on October 21'st. Taking it in for repairs or hopefully a replacement. For me, the camera will focus fine on stuff within a meter or two, but anything farther just will not focus unless I hit the phone. That sounds kinda dangerous, but that is the only thing I can do to fix it. I have pretty much everything possible with no fixes. It doesn't do it all the time, but it seems to get stuck 50/50. When it works, it works for a while. When it doesn't work, it doesn't work for a while.
Same here....I got a repair ticket in with Samsung, I unfortunately have to send my phone off for 2 weeks.................WHATEVER WILL I DO!???!!!???!!
note 4 verizon camera not focusing on documents
I had the same problem and the main purpose of the "Note" family of samsung is to edit documents on the fly so this sucks.
I could not find a solution. There is no option in the camera menu that corrects this. I tried using "cam scan" and "FX" camera app and they both had the same problem with partial blurred image.
I purchased my phone from craigslist and met the seller in the store to make sure it was legit and not stolen. I purchased the phone two or three weeks ago and I feel very fortunate that Verizon helped me to do a manufacturers defect claim after searching my IMEI number for date of original purchase. since the phone only came out a few months ago they should all still have the manufacture warranty.
I usually dont post to things because im not tech savvy but I thought I should give verizon credit for helping me even though I did not purchase the phone from their store. I just got back from the store and I should have my new phone in one business day and just mail the defective one back in the package they provide. Amazing since I work with documents and notes on the fly everyday.
sorry I dont have a fix for the problem and if you root your phone your SOL unless you have accidental handling and damage type insurance, if you catch my drift.
The pictures you posted worries me a little as this can happen in other Galaxy devices released in the near future. Samsung is really falling apart, and need to get their act together and hurt innocent customers. No wonder Samsung's quarterly report is much lower than expected.

Sorry I didn't update the thread. I brought my phone to Samsung service center, and had to leave it for 2 days for them to change my camera module. And it's now all good again. The problem obviously lies on the hardware, so nothing you can do to fix it unless you change that camera module.

THIS WHAT I DID WORKING FINE FOR ME HOPE ILL HELP YOU
Sashka: Let us perform a few troubleshooting steps on the device to isolate the cause of the issue. Shall we?
karim: OK
Sashka: Please go to Settings >> Application Manager >> swipe to All tab >> scroll to "Camera" app.
Sashka: Perform clear cache and clear data on it.
Sashka: It would reset the settings of the camera app.
Sashka: Perform this and check the issue with the camera's focus.
karim: LITTLE BETTER THANKS FOR THE HELP
Sashka: However, as the camera is fine now, Let us perform soft reset. It will refresh internal circuit of the phone: Remove the battery and re-insert it after 30 sec.
Sashka: Once you perform this, check the camera issue, this would refresh the circuitry as we have changed a few settings,
