Will sprint let me use this phone on there network? Is it CDMA?
Thanks.
Afraid not...it's for the GSM networks.
I guess tmobile is putting up a new 4G network, but will this phone work on their old AWS 1700/2100 network at 3G speeds? I want to get this phone and use it on the Wind Mobile network which uses the same standard.
Thanks!
EDIT: Oops, my bad, the Epic is on Sprint! Nevermind.
My friend was testing out my phone and decided to put his Bell sim card into my "unlocked" T-Mobile HD2. The problem we couldn't figure out was why the phone wouldn't get any signal what so ever and even configured my phone to Bell Mobility settings.
I use Energy's Rom and changed some of the Band/Network setting but that didn't seem to work.
Any suggestions?
Tmo HD2 uses normal gsm and 1700/2100 hsdpa aka aws, bell does not support that. Wind mobile uses aws (which is what i am using with my hd2) all though you should get a roaming signal.

I know in Energy's Rom there is an option to change the 3G bands from like 850+1900 and stuff, shouldn't that work?
removed.
Is that Bell SIM card for a prepaid account? If so that's why it doesn't work. Prepaid cell services don't work the same way as regular ones, and have to use specially configured devices in order to gain a signal.
Thanks for the replies! Yes i think the Bell Sim Card is a prepaid account one. The probably explains the problems we were having.
What are some carriers that are confirmed to work with the T-Mobile HTC HD2? Rogers, Fido?, Wind?, Mobilicity?
Also want to know if i'm using Rogers would the 3G capability work. I am currently using Energy's Rom.
Roger's Wind and Mobilicity are the ones that I know for sure should work. I dunno about Fido, but basically any GSM service around the world that DOESN'T use prepaid SIM cards should work with an unlocked HD2, or any device for that matter. And as far as Roger's 3G capability I don't know, what bands does Roger's use for 3G access? The TMO US HD2 uses AWS 1700/2100.
I believe rogers uses 850/1900. Not too sure but thats what i heard. Theres an option on the rom i flashed to enable 850+1900 umts or something. Im guess that would work. Cause i know if you use the stock rom that came with the T-Mobile, you the 3G doesn't work since its like 1700/2100.

The rom will not enable 850 or 1900 umts. Ask any at&t subscriber trying to use a tmo hd2 on their network and trying to use 3g. Won't happen. If your looking for 3g, you need aws (and canada does have one, i don't remember who they are at the moment) or 2100mhz 3g/umts. gsm will work with a lot more bands.

your wrong the Prepaid part, most prepaid cards do work like At&t, some dont work if they are like the ones sold by wallmart, but ANy GSM Sim card should work. i tried it on AT&T, VODAFONE AND AIRTEL

Those options are there in all of his roms, but the phone doesnt have the hardware to support it

So you are saying UMTS(2100) will work with rogers 3G? Cause i know the stock T-Mobile roms have a GSM(900+1800)+UMTS(2100) band option.

yeah but only If Rogers supports 2100 cuz i dont think they do but i could be wrong
Im using prepaid on wind mobile both voice and data.

Won't work. Bell (and Telus, Virgin, Koodo, Solo) only has 850/1900 HSPA... which this phone doesn't.
Wind, Mobilicity, Videotron have 1700 AWS so this phone will work with them, ditto for Rogers and Fido but in 2G mode only (since they have 850/1900 GSM)
I'm confused, the PR for the 10.1 says that it supports HSPA+ and has a SIM slot. So could I use my GSM SIM on my Galaxy Tab?
Yes HSPA+ is just a name like LTE or Wimax but yeah HSPA is what most countries use as a 3G network and AT&T and T-mo call 4G
can it type sms?
does it have phone funtion?

Not unless you install an app or root it.

I knew that, but I was wondering if I could use my GSM SIM.
I just bought an AT&T LG G2 plan on unlocking it for Tmobile/metropcs (they merged in my area) Will I be able to get full connections to everything once I unlock the phone for Tmobile network? I'd hate to realize I wont get any data or get very slow data after spending so much money.
Since MetroPCS uses Tmobiles system in my area but also still use their systems can I choose if I want to use a metropcs or a tmobile sim card? Or are they both on GSM towers and so there would be no difference? 4G for MetroPCS is available in my area but so is Tmobile HSPA+ which is better?
Not if you don't have the 1700 AWS band...

not sure what you're saying. 4G is 2100. but other than that if i leave 4G area i wont have any reception at all?
4G uses different bandwidths. Not all carries use the same... Still the same old "GSM/CDMA" scenario, just a bit more relaxed.
