Now that the Evo is rooted again lets see who can throw up the fastest benchmark numbers. Here's the rules.
1) Must have a screen shot of bench mark results
2) Include your rom and kernal
Let the games begin!
My evo is 9 inches long.
Benchmark scores are much like comparing penis sizes - if you do it on a forum, everyone is going to use someone else's photo or photoshop their own. Or just spout off some random large number, like the nine inches guy.
But, in contrast to penis sizes, benchmark scores don't matter. I personally have no clue what my scores would be, but my phone runs perfectly smooth so I'm not going to waste my time trying to make it faster just for bragging rights.
But I don't have a penis, so maybe I just don't get it.

I agree with everything you said, so youre saying size DOES matter?
I'm on my computer so no screenshot right now, but I consistently get 1000-1100 Quadrants with the following combination:
Synergy RLS1 non-GM
More Freedom 0.8.5 Universal
245-768 MHz, interactiveX, noop
You do know that quadrant scores can be changed by the user?

We (and I'm speaking for most females here) will tell you otherwise, but size does matter to an extent. There's a little wiggle room, but yeah it makes a difference.
Girth is just as important, if not more important than length, and freakishly large penises are personally not much fun. But don't worry, it doesn't have to be as big as you think. I haven't slept with very many guys, but I have found that most of them thought that theirs was too small. Only one's was.
But no, benchmark scores don't matter. Not at all.
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
Yeah I can understand the girth part, I guess it's like being a musician, you never feel like youre good enough, even though god blesses you with.. talent.. anywho, i think its time to get it on.
I get 1300 with Miui.
We're talking about penis sizes? Hahahaha <3xda
Deck's + SZ + SuperCharger script + ViperMod script.
nice thats good
My quadrant score is 4.
Mflops is -12
Penis length is 7.1644" @ 75°F
Is that good?
Evo Deck 1.3b2, Tiamat 3.3.7, -75mV undervolt, 245/883mhz, smartass gov.
Running "[KingsROM][Alliance RLS-3] [ODEXED] [NETFLIX]SENSE 2.1+ 3.0 HybriD 3D " The BREED ", stock kernal. Might overclock, but I'm not THAT knowledgable on modding just yet.
LOL - Good to know size doesn't matter My Evo is hung like a hamster, but it's hell at 100 MPH. I try not to make him feel to bad by taking about his benchmarks and short comings. Fortunately for MY Evo he can fake how big he is in certain applications so it makes him feel better.
so.. whats the point of "size matters" if when I flashed Synergy+GM the score was way longer than regular synergy but way slower... makes no sense

I don't have screenshots, but I was running Synergy RLS1 + Godmode and I had a quadrant score of about 2000, but it didn't mean much considering how badly everything else performed.
I remember on stock OTA it was about 500. I'm on Synergy RLS1, and now I get about 1000.

Maybe its just me but I feel like overclocking our phones is unnecessary. It seems like its just for boostin benchmark scores and it doesn't really affect real world performance. For me I used setcpu and it makes the phone slower and laggy when on conservative. Is that just setcpu not playing nice with my phone?
Tapatalkin it from my Epic 4G
Overclocking, for most part, is all about getting the most you can out of what you have. For some its a numbers game, for others it's just because you can. Personally, I like at least having the option open. However, my Epic doesn't like 1.2ghz.
Stock speeds are enough most of the time. I don't usually run the programs that use 100% of the cpu, so I really don't need to worry about it. Though, if I had the capability to OC.. I would.
As for setcpu, I've never experienced any overly excessive lag or anything brought about by its use. Though, by its nature it will be slightly slower to respond.
Coming from a hero, i can tell you overclocking is certainly not a gimmick! It may not be as necessary on these epic cause its crazy-awesome fast from the box, but it still helps. I keep mine at 1.6ghz on conservative, and performance when i play certain games. For me its about the multi-tasking improvment. Also i like to see my icons fade in smooth no matter what i have going on in the phone
But for me at least, its far more than just a benchmark score. However it is pretty sweet telling my iphone rocking coworkers to eat my ghz

Well first it depends completely on your phone, all are different in terms of what they can handle, so each individual phone will respond differently to overclocking/undervolting. I can personally run 1.2, 1.3, and the 1.6 completely fine, while a lot of people can't run any of these. In terms of performance, it does make a difference with animation speeds, fps on games such as pocket legends or angry birds, and overall lagginess. But again, this is dependant on your phone.

Are you running v1.2.0? If so, the fps cap is not fixed on this version because Devin removed the 1.6ghz step which allows the framerate to be raised. It works on some phones, but not all which is why he removed it.

The same argument comes up every once in a while concerning PC overclocking. I admit the phone overclocking has yet less benefits and even more downsides, but oh well, it's still super neato.

Exactly, you have to compare this to pc overclocking because it is the same exact thing. Two processors of the same make and model will overclock differently no matter what, it depends entirely on the die. Correct, the benefits are less noticeable, but it still makes a difference.

Dude I know lol. I have a rooted hero, but im sick of all the custom bs. I want to underclock and thats it!
I have a Vibrant rooted running the Team Whiskey Bionix-v1.2.1 ROM. I have a few apps that I use daily, but the only one I know does any major damage to speed is beautiful widgets. I don't use any live backgrounds. I scored a 1536 on a benchmark test from Quadrant Standard.
Do you guys know of ways to better these scores?
Use AutoKiller Memory Optimizer
Unless your phone actually feels sluggish I wouldnt worry about quadrant scores. If it is sluggish try installing Voodoo or one of the Universal Lagfix in the developers section.

I do agree that unless the phone is feeling slow to not worry about it. Quadrant is pretty easy to fudge over 2k even though the phone isn't any faster.
Didn't wana assume lol..
Haha yes I have voodoo, bionix-v1.2.1 comes with it preset. Appreciate the help.

actually, if you going for score some of the older J-rom series with over clock really scored high........ But with the current setup, you typically have 11-15 or so things that are open and TSR, if you remove alot of those to make it a vanilla barebones, then o.c it...... you can improve the score........ BUT speed scores are not worth much other than bragging rights.......... Like everyone else said if your phone is performing well then,..........who cares about the scores
Yea I'm just trying to see if there are things I can do to make it perform even better than it already is

Stock 2.2.1 is the fastest/smoothest ROM I've used on this phone ever and it hasn't even been optimized. I also downloaded the Dragon Kernel v3.6 and overclocked it to 1.28Ghz and its very stable. I always use my friends iPhone 4 to compare speeds and with the current setup I have now their isn't any difference in speed.
Just wanted to know the highest score anyones ever got. Im using myns rls5 underclocked to 806 with nets kernel. Im getting a score of 908 lmao, wtf?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Well the fact that the new version reads lower plus the fact that your underclocked that much, I'm surprised it was that high, unless you're still on 1.5.
The highest scores are from CM6 w/ the Snap Turbo Kernel and range from 2500 to ~3000. Highest I ever got was 2700. Miui also gets high scores of like 1700 to 2000ish for some people, although I usually go 1500s. For Sense ROMs, I think the highest I've gotten was 1500s or maybe low 16s with the old Quadrant and MikFroyo + Ziggy's BFS kernel.
I also used to get 1400s with EViO 2 1.7 underclocked to 921. That is a sweet ROM.
Its been a few month's since i ran one, but I think it was a little over 1200

What rom has the highest quad score for the vibrant?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Depends on many factors, not just the rom. There's also the Kernel, OCing, UVing and even the launcher.
Highest I have had without an overclock was 2456, and that was on Simply Galaxy v3 RC3 (Port from i9000) with all the tweaks engaged. It was very very fast. Faster than any other ROM I have used, even with overclock. Hell, if I could OC with that ROM I would bet that I could break 3000+ quads easy. But quads are worthless. You just have to try using the phone with the speed of that ROM. I didn't know the vibrant could be that fast.
Running Trigger right now. Get anywhere from 1400-1600. Runs ok. Was just wondering what some of the other Rome were capable of. How is the Simply Galaxy rom? I personally don't know anyone who has used it.

2750 Quadrant.
Darky 9.5 Froyo 2.2.1 base rom, 1.48Ghz Bullet Kernel linked in my sig.
Phone is FLYIN. Gingerbread 2.3.3 builds can go higher (but have bugs).
I got a Quadrant of 3300.....!!
I was using my TI-83 calculator with a tic-tac stuck in the DC in slot!
2000 flat w/ bi winning V2 no OC w/ voodoo. VERY FAST though. Quadrant doesn't give it justice.

I have a 3500 quadrant. On top of that, my battery increases 2% every hour as a result.
I'm running Android 3.3 on mine. 4700 quadrant score and when I plug my usb up to my laptop the phone charges it.
5000 with a V8 hemi under the hood!
With the battery in, I get around 16K but I only get 8K if I take the battery out.
I'm using the FBS ROM.

I second this.
So useless of an app, it has nothing to do with the actually smoothness and snapyness in any phone. Sometimes I feel it's scores are the other way around, the lowest you get the better your phone is
I'm a total lurker, but after "bricking" my vibrant about 3 weeks after getting it home last Fall and discovering the fix here, I've been tweaking, wiping, flashing, odining, and having a helluva lot of fun with it. I'll probably betray myself as still being a noob, but I see everyone kind of poo-pooing Quadrant as meaningless (and other benchmarks, it seems). Is there any objective measurement that you guys consider worthwhile?
I thought I was all hot **** for breaking the 2K mark, but I guess none of that matters?
Trigger 3.2 with Bullet 1.42...just added bullet, so currently OC'd to 1.2 while I get a feel for what the phone can handle.

On Biwinning with o.c. I am getting 2580 ....... but it does not perform ant better than leaving the clock @ 1000 so I leave unclocked ......... I get great battery life then...........
Quadrant is amusing...
but it's not always telling of how a rom actually performs. Back in the day when we were using the OCLF, quad scrores were in the 2k range and that was with 2.1
That being said, I felt compelled to post this anyway, mainly just to show the cpu score improvement that we get with gingerbread. My phone was running Cyanogenmod7 at stock speeds. Comparing quadrant scores between roms that are all based off of each other is pointless.
The 1815 score is from CM7
The 1755 score is from MIUI
MIUI performs great, but it's not as buttery smooth as CM7. But from the two scores you wouldn't see that. More importantly I think this also lends to what I said about comparing two scores between roms that are based off of each other.
I'm wondering what peoples quadrant standard numbers are. Please post your number and what rom your running.

Quadrant is a poor representation of how well a ROM really works. I've ran Cyanogen for years and can easily hit 3k plus. How ever i feel that OSs like VU are just as smooth and snappy at closing and opening apps. But that will pull 2.3k - 2.6k, maybe lower.
no hard feelings but quadrant isn't very popular around XDA due to how easily hackable, and how inaccurate it is. Neocore, and MFlop are more respected, but not by much.

Apart from the ROM or kernel the score on any benchmark will also depend a lot on what else is going on on the phone. How many widgets are running? How many apps are running in the background? Is the CPU overclocked? ... Unless you switch basically everything off, benchmark scores are pretty worthless and comparing them with others does not make a lot of sense.
There is already a thread for this
