Okay, so when I don't have any signal a message pops up with available networks to connect to. You can't get rid off it, it just pops up even when your network not there. Is there any kind off zip file that blocks it ?

WiFi networks? Go to Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Wi-Fi settings and uncheck "Network notification"

I'm kinda sure that this problem is a bit more complicated than just this but....
try going to
Settings >> Wireless and Networks >> Mobile Networks >> Network Operators
from there, tap the Select Automatically option. You should get a notification saying Registered on Network.
Yeah that it. If it's as simple as I think it is, then here's how to solve it.

Hi,
My Hero doesn't function properly with my provider LUXGSM here in Luxembourg. The data connection always gets disconnected after a few minutes in sleep mode.
When the Hero is unlocked, the internet connection is again established after few seconds. Gmail and other apps that need Internet connection doesn't work while the phone is on standby.
My provider doesn't get this issue fixed. Since three months I am in contact with teir helpdesk but they neither have a solution nore they know what exactly the cause for the problem is.
Does anybody has had such problems with his hero?
How does the android system keeps the Internet connection alive?
Thx for you help.
P.S.: always on mobile network is enabled on my hero. ;-)
i also have that problem
dont know if there is a setting or not

its enabled
but i have enabled use only 2G network
i will try for a day disabling that to use 3G and see if that's the problem
Do you get internet connection at all in the "2G only" mode?
How about you try WCDMA only or GSM only and see if one of these alleviates the problem. I'm on 3 ireland and had similar problems until I enabled "WCDMA only" (I don't get any internet in "2G only" = GSM only)
The setting for WCDMA only is hidden, go to the dialler and enter *#*#4636#*#*
any luck finding solution?
winmarc - i am in the US but having same problem - did you figure out a solution?
Hello,
I apologize if I have missed this asked in the forum, or in the phone settings for that matter but is there a way to disable the notification sound on the phone. I seem to be getting notifications whenever it connects/disconnects my wifi or whenever it changes service from GPRS / Edge / 3G.... at least I believe this is whats causing the notifications as there is nothing noted in the notification bar. I have disabled the notification for "Network Notification" however this just means I don't get notified about open networks in the area.. it still notifies me when my home wifi connects.
Other than that I'm loving the phone! I was rocking a G1 with a Cyanogen ROM which was great but was looking for something to be a bit more snappy... I will say i've been very surprised at how snappy this is.
if you go under the 'mobile networks' area under 'wireless & networks', there is an option to play a sound when you go into roaming. also under the wifi settings there is a check box for a notification when an open network is available.
check that out, should solve the issue
Thank you i0nicx , i ended up stumbling upon this on my own but u are correct this is what fixed the issue :

There are no GSM network signal, wifi, bluetooth, gps works .. I tested all of the radio 2.15.50.14 to 2.07.51.22.2. Uploaded nand HyperDroid android v3.0. The phone has no sim lock.
Have you went into Settings>Wireless & networks>Mobile networks and made sure the box has a check mark in it? If this box does not have a check mark in it you will not get any GSM signal on the device.

Ok when you go to Settings>Wireless & networks you will have two Mobile networks options. the first one should say "connect to internet" below Mobile networks and have a check box to the right of it. Make sure that it is checked.
Now the second Mobile networks option should say "Set options for roaming, networks, APN's" under it. I think this is where you went, also I just realized you might want to check Network mode that should be in the same place you found the "Network operators" option. Make sure you have GSM/WCDMA auto checked or you can check GSM only if you want.
I'm having the same issue, but it happened after installing mango on my HD2. Been trying diferent radios to see if it fixes itself to no avail.
have you tried another SIM card from another operator?
Going to try it later, it's a strange issue, when searching for networks it finds all 3 that are available in my country, but doesn't connect.
Sorry for the double post, but after flashing various radios, reverting to WM6.5, task29, back to WP7, my cell phone got it's signal back, my issue was with my network carrier. Thanks anyway, and good luck to the OP.
Where is the Auto-Network Switch located in Settings ? In my WIFI settings I have no ADVANCED setting to check, only a "Notify me" setting is present. Under each network connection there is an advance switch but it doesn't have anything for auto-network.
Started getting "unstable network" errors and I notice the device is scanning every 5-10 seconds even though my wifi signal is very strong.
You don't have advanced when you hit the menu button? That's where you'll find the auto network setting...

Menu button within Setting didn't dawn on me but yeah it makes sense, I guess. Thanks given.
When I check the Auto Network setting box, I disconnect from my wi-fi entirely, even thought I am right in front of it.
Any other ideas of how I can get rid of that 'Your Internet connection is unstable,..' notification?
Thanks!
This is pretty irritating it has stopped me from connecting to a "slow" wi-fi network when I had 0 cell signal

Ah, I posted a separate thread about this. I am receiving the unstable connection warnings as well, also with good signal (or certainly should be good signal where I'm located relative to the routers).
Wonder if some of us have bad phones in this regard .. will have to keep watching for others with the issue / possible solutions.
I have T-Mobile and an AL10. My phone's internet seems to work fine at home, but once I get outside of my local area I don't get any internet service. This makes it quite infuriating to try using Google Maps for example. I have to stop and use wifi.
The "Mobile Data" button is disabled. Also, the 4 config options on the "Mobile Networks" page are greyed out. How can I enable these config options so that I can at least get basic internet working most of the time?
Is this a related message in the Dual SIM management: "Global mobile data is in compatibility mode"
It says I need to disable this for internet work, but when I disable it the phone either asks for a Huawei ID or tries to get me to buy a data package.
Never mind, I'm a moron! There is a big switch on the top of the screen. Disabling Sky Tone allowed my sim card to work. Yay.
Note: the 4G button was greyed out by default, so make sure to check that after disabling Sky Tone.
