The buying is done! Now, I'm fighting with it!!!
I install rock player lite. But only advertising is showing up, when trying using it.
I bought the version as required. And it is impossible to activate the beast...???
Not sure if I understand your dilemma exactly.
Try un-installing the free/light version, then reinstall the paid version.

Hey, just happened to be browsing Phandroid and saw an article that the Market version of Flash should NOT be installed on the Atrix because it's not optimized for Tegra 2 and the preinstalled version on the phone is... of course, that was on the list of things downloaded on day 1 not realizing that Flash was apparently already on the phone. Should I uninstall the market app? And if I do, will that restore the phone to the built in "optimized" version... or will i lose Flash all together. Currently Flash works on the phone. (I verified that the Market version of Flash does indeed have a message on the "What's new" tab stating it shouldn't be installed on the Atrix)
My friend did this day one too. He fixed it by factory reset. now he gets 60fps flash on many websites... I'm seething with jealousy. (Atrix in the mail)
This is quite interesting, i don't remember installing flash from the market on my phone, but when i search for it, it says it's already installed. I'm doing a factory reset now to see if flash is on there to begin with or if i did infact install it from the market once
Damn. When I got my Atrix I installed all my apps through the Android Market from my PC...including Flash(apparently?). Don't want to do a factory reset so I'll just wait for a fix.

Let us know what version comes preloaded on the phone
I finished my factory reset.
Under "my apps" in the market, flash is not listed. However, if i search for flash in the market it says installed.
I'm an android newb and I hate flash so I know that I did not install it. However, it is IS installed on the phone: version 10.1.120.10.
It doesn't show up with the rest of the programs though. You have to go:
Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Flash
Do we know if there's an easy way to roll back to that version?
I do believe that if you installed the flash from the market you may be able to use uninstall updates from the manage applications menu.
Not sure though.
Just looked it up on the market and found this in the description:
It SHOULD NOT be installed on devices/tablets with the NVIDIA Tegra 2 super chip including the LG Optimus 2X, Dell Streak 7 and Motorola ATRIX. The pre-installed version of Flash Player is optimized for Tegra 2. Future updates will include these optimizations.

I believe I may be in the same boat as those who have the version from the market... would be much appreciated if anyone has a method for restoring the original version that was installed with the phone.
Did a bit of searching and it seems the Tegra 2 version has been leaked. The version available in the market is 10.1.106.16. The Tegra 2 version should be 10.1.120.10. I've downloaded the leaked Tegra 2 version from the link provided below and tested it out. As far as I can tell, it runs as it should. I'd still like to get the version originally included with the phone if possible, but the leaked version may be a decent alternative for the time being.

As warned on the site: Use at your own risk.
I have the Tegra version 10.1.120.10 installed and I don't even can install the market version because it says it is already installed. So where is the problem?
Has anyone tried uninstalling the market version to see what happens?
I removed the update, and now I have no flash...
Well, you can download the market version or download the leaked tegra 2 version I posted above. I haven't had any issues with the leaked version for the tegra 2 so I don't think it's anything to worry about. Definitely going to download the market version again when they release the version built for the tegra 2 though.
I just uninstalled the market version...which totally removed flash from my phone... I then installed the Tegra 2 version from the link above... worked smoothly, no problems (as far as i know!)
Hi, the reason i ask is because when i sideload apps from my n7 to my xperia play, they install fine. When i try to do it to my brothers phone (its not the best of phones tbh) it always says app not installed.
So i just wondered what the reason could be? And could this be overcome by rooting and manually installing it?
Thanks
Not yet. Android Jelly Bean 4.2 will though. Read about it on google.
I mean check hardware specs ect, not the actual app for malware
I know this is a bit off topic.. But some apps will soon be verified by your device id. This is the same id that google wallet uses. It will make it so when you but a app on one device you can NOT install it on another.Ti Backup already has a built in way to help with this during back up restore.
The above is only from what i have read and is likely not totally true as its not implemented yet so who really knows .

It's because the phone is not compatible with what you are trying to install (either in hardware or minimum Android OS version).
Is the app you are trying to install offered to the phone on the official Google marketplace? If not, then there is a reason why.....

Nope, its not offered, but sometimes they can work when not offered.
I was just wondering if that was simply the reason, or if the apps generally cant install on a phone without specific specs, i.e android version X or multitouch
Thanks for the answer
i forgot about this.. I have used aptoide to side load a few apps that i know work on nexus 7 but in the play store show not compatible..This is not meant to Pirate apps.. I used this to install a messenger app that would not install and a few games that i have purchased...
I have a T-Mobile snapdragon s8 rooted and I can't play animal crossing because it detects root. I see people using magisk to play but we can't obviously use that method. Does anyone know any other way to get it working short of unrooting?
I don't have an answer for you but I'm in the same boat. I rooted my unlocked US s8 with sampwnd, tried to install animal crossing, nope. I gave up on getting it from Play Store pretty quick so I've been using an apk. It can get through the nintendo link, the initial scene, and the character customization, then shuts itself down. Countless reinstalls of this app. I ended up trying to unroot through the supersu app. Now I'm in an even worse situation: I don't have root, but every app that checks for root thinks I do, so no animal crossing or netflix for me. And I can't open a root adb shell in order to redo the sampwned root without reflashing stock. This weekend when I have more time I'll be reflashing stock and I really hope that works. Root will be worth it when the bootloader can be unlocked, but I can't deal with the missing apps and the 80% battery BS honestly.
Rooted exynos using magisk.batman rom and notorious kernal No special settings. Game working fine. Netflix works as well. Must be something with the way the snapdragon variant is rooted

You can try Xposed+root cloak or one of the other root hide tools there. If its safety net or knox you're outta luck though

Yea I just uprooted and re flashed stock. I loved having root but it was the same for me, I hated not being able to use apps plus the 80% charging. I was in the oreo beta so its cool I have that at least. Thanks for your reply
Edit: animal crossing is awesome by the way. I love it. Totally worth unrooting for me

Man I have read a ton and I am pretty much ready to install my first custom ROM (especially since ZTE seems to be done and thus no more official updates). I have a couple questions though that I was hoping somebody would indulge.
- After installing the latest gapp will I be able to update the apps via the play store properly? I know I had los installed on a tablet back in the day and most of the apps wouldn't update (was never sure if that was my error or by design).
- If there are potential issues that I couldn't live with ... how difficult of a process will it be to return to stock? What traces will there be that I had installed a custom rom at one point in time?
The HTC One M8 was the last phone that I actively maintained custom roms and flashed on a regular basis. I'm a little rusty.
Thank you to whoever takes the time to help me out! Much appreciated!

I've been on 15.1 since release, it's pretty good, still a couple of niggles but mostly good.
Yep GApps update, I installed the Aroma package, I like the pixel launcher and Google dialer etc. All updating fine.
I haven't done this but I believe you download an EDL package and flash that with the EDL tool, should put you straight back to stock.

Thank you for the quick reply!
Yeah using the google dialer and camera app are the ones I am most looking forward to using. I used to use the dialer on my One M8 and I loved it. Have you tried Google Pay? I would assume that as long as I don't root I should be able to use whatever.
I read somebody having trouble with installing Netflix from the play store stating that they got the message that it wasn't compatible with their device. Have you experienced anything like this? I remember running into this from time to time with some past custom roms where the device ID wouldn't show up properly and caused some perceived incompatibility. Do you know what device the AXON 7 shows up as once it has the custom rom installed on it?
Thanks again!

That's a problem from the past. Use Magisk and you'll be fine.
The phone shows as "ZTE Axon 7" and the model will be changed to A2017U. Don't worry, but remember that your phone is still whatever model it was, i.e. keep using whatever modem corresponds
If Netflix doesn't appear just download the apk from somewhere else, but it should appear anyways if you install Magisk and it passes safetynet (after you do, just hit the "check safetynet" button
Since it looks like the methods were recently discovered I am having a hard time finding the answer.
All I want to do is root the tablet and put on any version of android or any rom because I want to be able to use google family and can not get it to work in any form with it as a stock amazon fire.
I am comfortable running through all the steps to get xposed and everything else on it but don't want to yet if no other version of android exist for them ATM.

I am running Google Play Store, YouTube, Whatsapp etc on my stock 2018 Fire HD 8. No root, only unlocked bootloader. Search this Forum. There is even a method to root it via Linux.
