I called Samsung today at (800) 726-7864. According to Samsung customer service representative they are working on Gingerbread update for T-mobile Vibrant T959. I asked her if this is what she thinks or is this info 100% confirmed and she said it is confirmed and there will be an update but currently there is no ETA on it.
Does this mean there is still hope for the update?

for the tmobile vibrant t959
and was told yes there is an update being tested but there is no

Just to comment on your question, the JI6 update could very well be needed for a clear and stable path to a froyo upgrade.

This is just another troll. The JI6 update will be rolled to everyone throughout October. There is no way Froyo is coming until everyone gets JI6, so at least not until November, chances are probably even later.
I second the ban. As people get banned for Froyo trolling, we will see less and less. (Hopefully.)

TBH, this actually would make sense. Hopefully J16 is just a gateway and we'll see Froyo by months end or Even Nov. Wasn't Nov the "speculated" date from the UK site?

I was just abducted by aliens last night, and one of them told me that they had just dropped off a Verizon rep that they had abducted the night before, and that just prior to his anal probing, the Verizon rep revealed that, according to his Samsung contact, Samsung has decided to skip not only Froyo and Gingerbread, but Honeycomb too and go straight to Android 4.0 Ice Cream.
The Samsung rep couldn't give an exact date for the OTA release, but according to the aliens, they've been ahead in time beyond January 10th, and none of their phones were updated, but they couldn't rule out that the update might have failed because they hadn't restored all the bloat before their time-warp to Jan 10th.
And, by the way, no, I wasn't anally probed.

It's not really a theme changer what T-Mobile made for 2.3 is a theme changer, it basically is a application pack that gives you certain apps/advertisements varying on what pack you download. It's a crappy idea because all it does is change your wallpaper and give you random applications. Doesn't benefit the user.

Not quiet true. Basically it allows you to choose what Sprint apps you want on your phone and other customizations. It adds widgets ect. It's one single apk and will be easily removable...... Now if Sprint really wanted to make life easier they would make Samsung scrap TW
Sprint said they were including Sprint ID on all their phones when they first announced it. In a Q&A they said it was coming to the Epic. I was surprised it wasn't in EB13.
