A100 Forum Please? - Acer Iconia A500

Any chance we can get a dedicated forum for the A100? Thanks in advance XDA!

What I'm interested in is how much does the hardware differ. Screen obviously, but is it the same exact board just cut down and a different revision?

Seperate Dev section for the US GS3?

Just wonder what you guys think....Do you think it's necessary to have a forum dedicated to the US version of this phone since the roms for the international version won't be compatible with it?
I think it would help since there won't be any confusion as to what version a particular rom/kernel/mod is for...I think it would also help as far as troubleshooting is concerned too.
What do you think?
Sounds practical to me

I agree, there Is no point in cluttering this forum with a different device. Its a completely different beast.

So many newbs will be flashing quad core ROM's on their dual core phones, and vice versa.
It's going to be a real mess for awhile. And likely a lot of total bricked phones as a result.
This will happen, perhaps we could wait untill US versions are ACTUALLY available?
It will be broken down into VZW, Sprint , ATT and TMO..maybe under one thread, maybe completely seperate....
While sharing the same build, they will have different model #'s...as has been the case with just about EVERY phone ever released...
Chill out guys..GNEX started on Verizon...now they have a GSM/Verizon/Sprint sub thread...
Did you really think a dev would post a US rom into a I-9300 thread without clearly stating it's for said device?
They need to separate all of the variations......Korea, Japan, etc. This forum is already becoming cluttered

Closed as this has been answered before, at the very least the USA S4 versions will get their own dev sections, but the exact layout is still under discussion.

Tips of saving the i9000 digitizer's sensitivity

Today, i write these tips to help people who are no ideas in dealing with the matter of i9000 digitizer lost sensitivity. Now i just list some ways according to my cell phone repair experience.
I f you guys faced with this problem, you can do as what i said here:
First of all, you should check if there has a protector on your phone screen. If so, please tear off the protector, and you can touch you digitizer to check, if the phone has sensitivity, it means the protector has a bad effect on i9000 digitizer.
Secondly, check whether the contact has drifting problem or not. You can click one icon in phone display, if no sensitivity, but the other screen places where surround this icon have sensitivity, it means your phone contact faces with the drifting problem, and you should recalibrate the i9000 digitizer screen.
Thirdly, If the digitizer were broken. You can replace it by yourself just according to the i9000 take apart videos on youtube or a proffessional guidance site, it can save a lot of money if you do it.
Finally, the worst way is send you phone to cell phone hospital. I do not agree with you guys do so, because many repair shop just ask the very expensive price to fix the borken phone, and indeed, we can replace our broken phone parts easily.
Thank you Gooble Transillyate for destruction of a text that (probably) makes sense in native language.
But you can't blame Google Translate for posting in wrong forum thread??

[Q] Information thread

Hi all,
I've been scouring the forum trying to find a thread with a dictionary of all the terms I see here on different threads.
Is there one?
I just purchased a Nexus 7 and would like to know as much as possible about it..
Thanks in advance

Thinkpad vs. Ideapad Tablets

Hello,
I see a lot of different products mentioned/referred to in these threads; I'm wondering if it might make sense to, perhaps, create a seperate forum for Ideapad tablets, since the Thinkpad tablets have different features, functionalities and even Operating Systems than most, if not all, Ideapads. I'm not sure how that would be accomplished, since I'm fairly new to this community, but I do see an increase of interest in the Ideapad android rooting/development, etc. Does anyone have any information, opinions, or otherwise any input about this? It'd be much appreciated. Thank you.
Yes agree

Agree
I also agree. I have a K1 Ideapad y sometimes I have found myself reading threads that belong to the thinkpad. Sometimes this can be confusing, and I think it might lead to someone bricking their ideapad downloading the wrong software.
This has been raised before and no clear consensus was reached.
The people to approach are the mods (see the top of the forum) who can forward such requests.
It's unlikely they'll fork this forum or create a separate Ideapad forum since this one gets relatively little activity (by comparison to, say, the HD2 or G-Note fora). A request to this effect was made a couple of months back and no change occurred.
A reasonable compromise is to clearly mark each topic with the device type to avoid confusion. A couple of us have tried to get this going but with little success.
Being pig-headed about it, this is the Thinkpad tablet forum and not a generic Lenovo tablet forum, but personally I don't have an issue with it being shared.

12.8 Tesla Style HU advice

Heya,
I'm looking to purchase one of these for our RV. The number of different companies offering these and options makes it extremely difficult to make an informed decision.
Does anyone have any recommendations for these (seller, options, etc)? It seems the best unit would be one with 4gb ram and 64gb nand flash, dsp, GPS, tpms, odbc2, 3 camera input, and carplay/android auto. Can some of those options be enabled with known codes instead of purchasing?
I'm also open to suggestions for a better unit with smaller display. The swivel mount on the 12.8 will be handy with the already angled dash layout in the RV.
Thank you in advance for the help with this.

All these units are manufactored at Klyde. All others are only reseller. They just sell and give no real support...
To get the best support and the possibility to talk with them about the needed features, you should have a look directly at Klyde.
Get in contact via website, tell them your wishes and you will get an offer.
May be you are able to get it a bit down, or some gift extra.

Why create a topic with a question about a device where there is already a discussion about this device?

I saw that thread and read through every post. I also did a lot of searching in these forums and others. NO ONE has asked these questions yet and I was looking for help. I'm terribly sorry I inconvenienced you with my inquiry. I'll stop posting on XDA it seems. After 12 years I guess things have changed here and it's no longer about helping those with questions.

I was wondering if it was either Belsee or Klyde, but I saw on another thread that the boards were labeled Dacca or something. I've reached out to Klyde and have their prices and options. TY rigattoni.

You have not caused me inconvenience, inconvenience to those who like and you will look for answers to their questions. It is more convenient to have information in one topic, not in different ones. If you don't have a hard time let's have a discussion and share experiences on that topic.
