I was wondering what everyone's favorite build was for this device? Ive been playing with the Virtuous builds (where are fantastic, but not currently in development) and Dexters &fguy's builds over at tablet***.com. I really enjoy TouchWiz UX but all the builds seem to have issues (video, haptic, HDMI, etc). I was hoping for some recommendations with pros\cons of the various builds, if possible.
Currently on Fusion Galaxy V1.0, a hybrid Acer\Samsung build. Please share Thanks for the info!
do you mean falcon galaxy? its defently my favorite, virtuous i a little more buggy, and the other builds video camera doesnt work properly.
Yeah, Falcon is great... but what is this Fusion you are talking about?

Hey guys, what would the best rom be to load on the dhd as of today?
[ROM][PNK14] Occasional & funky CM7 (Gingerbread) builds by phunkycow
Its the most buggfree and fluid Gingerbread build.. Almost flawless and doesnt suffer the lagg issue other Gingerbread roms have
There isn't a best one. It comes down to personal taste. Right now I am liking leedroid although myself I have some technical problems with it. Many people are running it fine though. It's a heavily tweaked sense rom.
My other favourite at the moment is rcmixhd. Unlike leedroid it isn't tweaked much at all, you just get a very clean and stable sense build.
Cyanogenmod 7 shows much promise too although it's still in heavy development so even the above mentioned pnk build has some buggy behaviour such as the weird and broken video gallery. Within a few weeks it should be great though.
Cyanogenmod 6 is much more stable but I find the stock froyo copy paste just too annoying without a trackball. All cyanogenmod roms are like AOSP on steroids.

Hi guys, i like HTC sense interface, i was wondering what's the best, that is closer to the stock rom and simplest rom for Vision, in particular for t-mobile G2?
thanks
Here's a link to Virtuous Rom......I ran it myself for quite a while very smooth and stable.
I believe that there are five maybe six Sense-based roms built for the Z/G2. Go take a look in the development section, there are a number of stream lined sense roms ported from various devices such as the Desire HD, mytouch 4g, and the Desire Z etc.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835687
That link will take you to the various ports.
Currently the most updated and supported Sense rom is the Virtuous rom maintained by RMK40, get ready to read because there's a lot of goodies packed with this rom.
Here ya go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=837042
And lastly, there's like two other Sense roms that really arent supported much any longer, one by Paul I believe (released shortly after permaroot achieved) and a slimmed down Vanilla based sense rom (probably what you're wanting) by the VillianRom team.
Here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=855560
Lastly, please please please research as much as possible regarding any questions you may have as the only true route of learning is through consequence and self accomplishment. Not spoon feeding. Hope this helps
Virtuous is updated at least one a month, with great improvements with each. I highly recommend. Its extremely fast as well.

probably a way to make it function like that if you do the legwork yourself. no option through the rom because its based on the desire z which has a tab key and no www.com key.
miui is not based on sense its based on miui and is compared to an iphone like interface. its very smooth and fast. a great rom but not sense.
not sure about the other roms you mentioned because i run virtuous
I wanna know what other people's thoughts are. Me and a friend of mine had been going back n forth on good roms and I wanted to see what xda felt.
Plus I need to get my 10 posts again -_-
Personally team nocturnals shooter sense ed3 3.0 ROM. It's pretty flawless besides camera effects is still broken.. besides that its smooth and nice. Another favorite is team swags SOS X odex. The look is changing around currently but its stable and fast and smooth. Then primOG (forgot its name) has high potential.. its android 4.0.3 and sense 4.0 and actually looks like the real sense 4.0 but its very New in starting stages. Barely anything works
I tried Cm7 CM9 ,MIUI android or us, DECK PB22. the best is CM7. ICS 4.0 best is Deck Pb22 or later.
send from HTC EVO 4
The best Froyo was Koni's Elite Series. The Best Froyo/CM ROm for me was Destroyer.
Gingerbread and ICS are MIUI, since I have no 4G in my area although, I'll give MikG Honorable mention ans his GB 2.1/3.0 ROM was pretty flawless
I like tommytomato roms! he makes some good stuff
I like 4 Kornerz and AlterRom. They were both very stable and fast.
I saw this thread over at the Galaxy Nexus forums, and since I figured more people than just me might want to know more about the different ROMs, I thought it was worrth a thread here as well.
What I'm interested is a quick reference thread for the various Jellybean ROMs. Run by who, what's the aim, etc. Basically a quick reference guide to assist people (like me) decide which ROM fits my needs.
So far, these are the Jellybean builds that I know about for the TF101:
Team EOS 3 Jellybean nightlies
RaymanFX's 4.1.1 AOSP builds
CM10 preview edition
JellyBro (CM10 kang)
AOKP KANG
Let me know if you see anyone missing.
It would be nice for each ROM to have a a post which lists its key features:
Aim of the ROM. Tweaks, Stability, Speed, AOSP-like cleanness, etc
State. In active development, experimental, mature, stable, abondoned, etc.
ROM base, if any. Based on AOSP, AOKP, CM, etc.
Release-type/frequency: Nightly, interval, fixed releases, etc.
Non-stock/AOSP features. Swag, Toggles, Theming, OCing, etc.
Basically enough info to assist making a decision, without aiming for pages and pages of stuff which noone will ever bother to write (or read). See this post for an example of what I'm thinking about.
Feel free to recommend a non-default kernel for the ROM, but the focus should be on what the ROM itself offers out of the box.
Sounds good? Anyone wants to give it a go?
User summaries of the various ROMs.
I'm not guaranteeing that I will be able/willing to include all reviews here. If things get out of hand, I will edit this post to indicate so.

I've been meaning to make a thread like this, but I still have yet to find the time.
I read through all the JB threads about a week ago and Team Eos seemed to have the least amount of bugs so I chose it over the other options.
I'll start off by saying I've been using it daily since build #53 [2012-07-24] and I'm currently on build #54.
That said, here's what I've noticed so far:
Speaker volume is a bit low.
When using the HDMI out cable, sound plays via TF101 speakers, not TV speakers.
Video effects (Silly Faces) in Camera cause camera to crash.
GPS doesn't work.
Other than that, it's a very stable rom and working great. Dock functions 100%. Very responsive, stable and fast.
Also I'm using Guevor's JB Kernel 693. I just noticed 696 was released yesterday, so flashing that now .
Feel free to ask any questions about the rom. Maybe some time next week I can flash all the JB kernels out there and put them through their paces .
Note this rom is a GREAT daily driver, unless you really need GPS or use HDMI out very often, I highly recommend it.
I'm also running Team EOS nightlies and I'm very happy with it.
Here's my quick summary:
ROM: Team EOS nightlies
Non-stock/AOSP features.. Notification toggles. Overclocking. (Themes added in build #55?)
Aim...................... Stability
ROM base................. Team EOS
State.................... In active development
Release-type............. Nightly
Build(s) tested.......... 2012.07.23 to current (2012.08.01). With and without dock.
Not working / problems:
Audio generally low. (Seems to be a general JB problem across devices?)
HDMI audio out
Have encountered 2 sleeps of death while using it for around 2 weeks.
Everything else seems to be working.
My only complaint so far is lack of a status-bar battery-widget for the dock, like you have in Megatron (ICS). But I don't think any other of the JB ROMs available has that one either.
Great idea!
Will keep this thread under close observation :good:

Check out Dual Battery Widget from the play store. It has an option for having the dock battery level show in the status bar.
Also I'd like to add I haven't had a single SOD on Team Eos nightlies (been on since #53). But I have had a few reboots, all but 1 have occurred while not using the tablet.

Using RaymanFX's 4.1.1 JB
Hi guys, thought I'd share this info. I'm using RaymanFX's ROM and overall it's running well. My only issue so far is that Google Now crashes right after launching. It was working before I started adding new apps, so I'm guessing there is a conflict with another app. Unfortunately I don't know which one it is. I'm guessing maybe gmail, Google maps, or Google +. I haven't tested the HDMI or used in the dock yet but WiFi and graphics seem good. The ROM itself is extremely lean, no bloat to speak of.
I had to flash the ROM a second time to get it working but it's possible that I goofed it up the first time because it does take a bit to do the initial boot and I was getting impatient and thought it locked up and rebooted.
I'll probably try the EOS ROM next.

Team EOS nigthly.. Rayman has not updated this one in awhile and has been working on other projects. I'm not sure actually how good CM10 is, but I've run both this and TeamEOS and I changed to a TeamEOS / KAT 1.14 (now) combo and I have never looked back.. TeamEOS has the most fleshed out version of JB in my humble opinion.

If just install the rom 0.7 from raymanfx. The first time from me i root my tf101 !
It work great, some small functionnality are missing on the keyboard but it gives a second life to our baby.
Sent from my Transformer(4.2.1 rom 0.7) using xda app-developers app
Yep, I' using 0.7 from Raymanfx also. Its great to have the mutli-user support, but I think it comes with significant overhead and I'm not sure the TF101 can handle this.... still testing and will keep everyone informed.
Hello all,
no, this is not another "which is a best ROM" topic I know the best ROM is stock
I recently rooted again my DHD and started playing with ROMs. I would like to try some different ROMs - of every "kind", i.e. no need to try all ICS Sense ROMS, since they're all similar (1st ROM i tried was Revolution and I couldn't tell the difference between it and stock)
So, my question is which ROMS should I try that are different - like unique have different feel to them, and pretty stable? I'd like one MIUI, one Sense 4, cyanogen etc? (is that all?)
thanx,
D.
These kind of posts are becoming viral lately.
Can't understand why.
Do you people read, at least, the other posts titles already in here?
MIUI v4, CM7/9/10 (Gingerbread, ICS & Jelly Bean respectively) BlackIce1.60 is my daily, Virtuous Infinity (Sense 4 with working Camera)

Well my question was (as I stated) NOT which is the best ROM. I just wanted some experienced users to tell me which kinds of ROMs there are, I'm not gonna try all of them. That is what the boards are for, aren't they? To exchange tips and experiences... If you mind, why don't you just skip the post?
NeroXL sense 3.6 ROM by Paschal.
Omnivision sensors working after flashing the fix. And better battery life. Personally like sense 3.6 more than sense 4.

I am a big fan of Randoms Jelly Bean rom currently in beta9. The features blow ICS out of the water in my opinion. I love it =) It's worth a look.
I'm running RandomBlame's JellyBean beta 9 with no problems and I'm loving it currently. Ice Cold Sandwich is my favorite ICS ROM. I didn't find a sense ROM I liked. Revolution was laggy and not my cup of tea. I'm pretty happy with basic android anyway.

See the fun for being rooted is to try them all your self ,why would you skip all the excitement? Go on try them your self

Except that there arent that many roms to try?
There's 1 jelly bean ROM - jelly time
1 miui ICS ROM - MIUI.us
1 Aosp ROM - existz aospx
2 AOKP ROMS Paranoid android /ice cold
1 sense 4 rom. By virtuous
1 sense 4a rom.
All these have a pretty different experience though.I'm not sure if its wrong to create such posts, I just think it would be better/more efficient to just check put the ROM threads yourself. They probably more detailed than the info you can find here anyway
Virtuous Infinity v1.31.0 Alpha2 :laugh::good:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792074&page=112
I would recommend
Nero XL (sense 3.6/ICS. Camera works for all sensors, very very stable, but pure stock)
MIUI RD (Or any of the gingerbread ones, I didn't think the ICS one was worth it)
Energy (of all the GB/Sense 3.5 ROMs I stayed with this for 2 weeks, pretty damn long for a flashaholic like me).
Other ROMs I don't use a lot, but I hear good things from/I've used with success but I didn't keep: Runny Xtreme Surprise, ARHD, Ice Cold Sandwich, Redemption, Virtuous Sense 4/ICS, Jellytime.
BTW, check this thread out for a speed test of different ROMs. All creds to Apuabest
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1791803
My chioce was : IceColdSandwich, Virtuous Infinity, CyanogenMod 7.2 NIGHTIES (all was ok, best rom, imho, but i like ICS UI style), and JellyTime (some bugs, but battery life is amazing).
There is no sense 3 roms, because I hate HTC Sense 3 UI; I can't help witch choosing sense 3 rom, sorry.
Types of ROMs
This is my list:
1. Existz AOSP IceCreamSandwich for AOSP ROMs
2. Virtuous Infinity v1.31.0 Alpha2 for SENSE 4 ROMs
Existz ROM is bug free (at least for my experience)
The Virtuous ROM is very beautiful (SENSE 4 is fantastic), but for DHD bluetooth audio doesn't work during phone calls.
XGS series by krisjanne, it's very good ROM
