I am in pain - Nexus S General

I had to send my Nexus S in for repair. The good news is that in the meantime Best Buy Mobile gave me a loaner phone. The bad news is that it's an LG Optimus T. 600 MHz processor and a 3.2 inch 480x320 crapfest LCD.
Oh man, I miss my Nexus S so much! I have never appreciated it more!

Aww, I feel your pain. This might help, close your eyes and imagine 2 puppies kissing. Hmmm, makes you feel better already, right...

ha ha ha crap-fest........

I've never met a phone like the optimus that was such a nightmare to try and get root and recovery on. Sprint version. Nice little phone though.

Why risk it? Just lock it before you take it in. That's what I did. Although as soon as I gave the guy the phone he just took my battery out, put it in a shipping box, and asked me what the symptoms were.

I would try to lock it but my power Button is broken so I can't reboot into bootloader or fastboot and when I ddo it through terminal (Mac) It stays onstuck on waiting for device (on terminal) when I type fastboot oem lock
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App

have you tried to use ADB?
adb reboot bootloader
This should get you into the boot loader, then locking the bootloader should be a breeze

just keep jamming a straightened out paper clip in there until you short something lol.
If they cant boot it they cant say if it rooted or not!
Ima sleeeeeeaze but its going back anyway
I remember once my girl left her panteck in a bowl of salsa overnight (yes we were drinking).
when ATT shipped her a replacement I tore the whole thing apart and replaced all her inards and stickers onto the shell of the new phone that came in (new water ratters and all).
think i had to do this twice for her..... i need a new girlfriend

Yeah I can get into bootloader but when I do fastboot OEM lock it nothing happens and on the command prompt it says waiting for device.

Cracked Screen

My phone was in my bag and it got closed in the car door. The screen is cracked and the phone is rooted. Wil they not replace the phone because it is rooted? I have insurance on the phone.
From everything I've read you shouldn't have an issue either way.

Can u not see anything on the screen? If your worried just flash back to stock

http://www.ebay.it/itm/130639498734?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
Its very easy to install sice it doesnt have only the screen and the touch digitizer but also all the hardware realted to them so to change it you dont have to use a heater gun as you should do with the other products...
I bought one and it is PERFECT!!!! exactly the same feeling of the original one!!!
Hope this helps you!!!
P.s.=Its only for i9020 tho!!

wish me luck this weekend.

Got to bring the wife's epic into Sprint for a hardware issue. It appears the phone speaker isn't working. Thought it was Cm7 issue but flashed back to stock EL30 (btw thanks to who ever got that for us) with modem still no sound at all. Copied all her data off onto the computer formated the card then copied some stuff back like her pictures and music. Hopefully they won't give me a hard time I am paying for the extended. I am kind of hoping they will offer a upgrade to the touch.
Any suggestions would be grateful.
Good luck!
Gotta figure out the angle to take. Whether to pull a complete phone "What's root? Is that some kind of new Pokemon?" angle. Or the "Yeah I am alright with Android, I just hit a bump. Help me out?"
I usually play stupid. With the added nicety.
You should be fine on the service issue. Good luck on the upgrade attempt.

If it is the loudspeaker they have the ability to replace it in store if they have the part. Should only take around an hour maybe more if they are super busy.

Our headset speaker broke. I bought another one on eBay, split the display, replaced the speaker and it still didn't work. Took it to sprint, paid $35 and they swapped the entire display /top slider. They said they don't split the display as the policy is to swap put the entire piece. Problems solved go us
Oh yeah, I also had no insurance and was well over a year onto ownership of the phone.

I switch cells between my blackberry and streak, I put the sim card back in the streak one day and it was boot looping. So I figured Id install streakmod recovery and flash a new rom. That didnt work as it went back into a boot loop. I tried qdl and streakflash and still nothing. Tried going back to stock and still nothing. So F it lol. Its good for parts and lcd/digitizer since the price of them is threw the roof.

Rooted Nexus 4 sent to Google.

So yesterday evening I sent in my Nexus 4 to get a replacement due to my battery dying on me out of no where. The phone was rooted with aokp installed. I tried everything to try and boot it up and get it into fast boot to unroot but there was no luck there. So my question is have any nexus 4 owners that have had to get an RMA send there's in rooted? If so was Google able to get your phone up therefore causing you to pay for the replacement?
Sent from my GT-P3100 using xda app-developers app
every device that ive ever sent back to google to get rma'd has been bootloader unlocked, root, custom rom/kernel. never a problem. last one was my nexus 7, stopped charging. generally, if its hardware related, theyll take care of it.

At least 1 person has already been denied RMA because they unlocked the bootloader, so they care.

I can't find the thread (guy probably deleted it) but basically the guy told the rep he unlocked the phone and he was then referred to some other department that then denied his RMA.

[Q] Water damage

So I got pushed in the pool and needless to say phone got wet, turned it off immediately and shoved it in a bowl of rice, after a week when I plug it in to a power source it says battery is full and boot loops now if I hold the V down it goes into the bootloader screen but the power button doesn't let me select anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
UPDATE: I can get to TWRP but won't fully boot up, also I noticed there isn't a battery percentage in TWRP. Battery dead?

Open it up and look inside by power button connection, it might be corroded. Just use a toothbrush and some rubbing alcohol (dont use alot just a small amount and scrub til corrosion is gone) then let it dry and put everything back together.

That's the problem tho, as soon as I unplug it it dies, I'm pretty sure the battery is fried. I ordered another one already it was only $30 so I'll try that.
