Thank you very much man. That works great except RSS Hub Chinese word wrap.
the font looks nice but there is one problem: the chinese fonts cant be showed under M2D SMS tab can you help fixed this. Same problem happens when i use CE Star.
Works very well with VGA Traditional Chinese. Thank you. Will there be Chinese SIP support in the future? Mainly looking for full screen hand writing recognition SIP that comes with stock Chinese rom. Great work. Thanks again.

Thanks for sharing,
Ricky, are you going to edit and compress also the bold YaHei?
The name of edited normal Yahei is MSYH while bold is Microsoft Yahei, so they can't be used together the way it's generally used (likewise Tahoma & TahomaBD, their internal Windows' name for both is 'Tahoma', so when you make font bold in applications like Word, it's ok; with different internal names, you need to change the font itself).
Please can you add bold font with the same system name (MSYH) as the one you've edited.
Also, what is ChinesePlus.exe for?
thanks Ricky, your fonts is always so good.

How to install new fonts

When I view websites in different languages I see boxes instead of fonts.
Can we install new fonts in rooted HTC magic phones?
How to install unicode fonts for different languages?
Is all unicode fonts (truetype) supported? Or, do we need special type of font files?
FYI my phone HTC 32A runs cursorsense 1.2.6
Thanks in advance.

[CAB] Chinese support(CHS font only now) for Artermis ROM [UPDATED 02-May-2010]

Hi all,
This post is about getting the orginal WWE Asia HTC HD2's font into Artermis ROM.
1) Install the attached cab
2) Soft reset
Note 1: I only tested in fresh ROM environment, which is V10,V11
Note 2: These files are taken from RUU_Leo_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.66.707.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe
One step closer to stock ROM "Philosophy"

I have tried various cabs before like ricky, RobRedbeard- LIA, sunglobe etc... and i have no idea what are the cabs actually doing. some of them even replaced the original wince.nls, create some junk reg keys, make chinese font in some app overlapping...
Here is the safer technique to get chinese font support without messing around with the system files and registry.
1) Download the attached zip file and extract to your storage card
2) Copy UCSH00B-gray.ttf to \windows
3) Import this registry file, SystemLink.reg
4) Soft reset

looking forward to your findings mate. cheers
temporary solution
I just tested with artermis v10 with the following
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6295918#post6295918
steps
1) download the attachment then extract all the files to a temp folder on your desktop
2) go files folder, copy & paste EzInputSettings.exe.0804.mui then rename the new file to EzInputSettings.exe.0409.mui
3) copy all the dll files from those folder name end with .ddl to parent folder (../files). you can skip HTCSipSrvc.dll
4) now go to your device, change SIP to other. change home to titanium
5) go to /windows folder and rename those dll file with same name you modified on your desktop temp folder to xxxx.dll.old( total is 11 files)
6) copy the temp folder on your desktop to your HD2
7) use total commander to move all the files inside files folder to /windows, replace all the dll & files (must make sure no overwrite error)
8) import app.reg
9) soft reset
Finally stock rom chinese support in WWE rom
Now just waiting for a kind soul to help to convert this into cab
UPDATE: Only pinyin and stroke is working...
ABOVE SOLUTION IS UNSUPPORTED NOW

i replaced the wince.nls, but nothing happened. i still dont get the 5 chinese regions in regional settings. also, can you check if your first post method works for google maps 4.1? in google maps, under settings, speech language, there is an option for mandarin. all i get are square boxes.. it should write chinese language, in mandarin of course. any fix for this?

Maybe try the following:
- rename the existing wince.nls to wince.nls.old then copy the new one.
- inside your registry... remove this key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink] then import the reg file from 1st post, if everything ok, only 5 entries will be recreated as following
"HelveticaNeue LT 35 Thin"="\\windows\\UCSH00B-gray.ttf,AR CrystalHeiU20 Bold(gray);\\windows\\tahoma.ttf,Tahoma"
"Helvetica Neue OTS"="\\windows\\UCSH00B-gray.ttf,AR CrystalHeiU20 Bold(gray);\\windows\\tahoma.ttf,Tahoma"
"Courier New"="\\windows\\UCSH00B-gray.ttf,AR CrystalHeiU20 Bold(gray)"
"Tahoma"="\\windows\\UCSH00B-gray.ttf,AR CrystalHeiU20 Bold(gray)"
"AR CrystalHeiU20 Bold(gray)"="\\windows\\tahoma.ttf,Tahoma"
remember to soft reset ... then enjoy the new font

replacing the wince.nls directly doesn't work. You need to use it with reloadnls.exe which will have to be in the startup folder. do a search for it and you will find your answers. I used to write a thread for this as well, so you can try to search for it.

If I know where the damn Fonts folder is located on Android and how to create the Virtual keyboard then I will implementing it
Anyway, I was hoping that Android has the same file directory as the Unix machine and devices like Nokia N900.
Linux and Nokia N900:
/usr/share/fonts
Windows:
C:\Windows\Fonts
Android???
If someone could englightening on this matter and directing me to the right place on a SDK of the Virtual Keyboard then I would deeply appreciated.
We've got to add Khmer language support to Android. It has been nearly 5years long and still no Khmer support. This is outragous.

Using Root Explorer and mount R/W to overwrite the system file.
Once rooted, installing the font is not the hard part. The font still doesn't render correctly. It's missing a script or something that can assemble the subscripts.
Khmer Keyboard is easy: Install MultiLing Keyboard and it's Khmer plugin from Android Market.
I have installed this two but viewing web site still not correctly display.
Do you have any idea on how to fix this ?

Android can read Khmer Unicode but lacks the script to properly display it. This problem touches the multi keyboard as well. To correctly display webpages in Khmer, take a look at the Khmum Browser from Beeline at Android Market.

I got it to displayed the characters properly but the bottom consonants won't get rendered. This pathetic, tried everything but couldn't get it to rendered unicodes.

how to add/remove preloaded apps and languages?

Hi, I'm new to Android. This gnote is my first Droid, I'm really happy with it so far. Just a few questions if anyone can help that would be awesome.
1, is there a way to remove the preloaded UK apps that came with the phone?
2, right now i can only switch between UK English and US English while typing, is there a way to add more languages like Chinese and Vietnamese?
3, can unwanted languages be removed?
Thank you.
For the languages, you have to be Rooted, after that install the Root Eplorer, with it go to the folders: Android>System>Fonts and from there add or remove the ttf files,at least thats what I do on my HD2 and it works.
Thank you. I will look into rooting. Where can I find ttf files for other language?

I use the attached ttf file (which i have extracted from Windows 7 Tahoma Font to use it on my HD2WM),Successfully on my Android devices to read Armenian,I know it also supports many other langusges as well, like Hebrew,Arabic etc.but i am not sure of Chinese,
Just copy/paste/replace/
You can do a search for Roboto Fonts as well.
You will need 7-ZIP to extract it.
sweet! thank so much.
