Hello everyone!
I`m using Energy Rom 21898 Build. This is the best rom, but does not support Chinese. I`ve already installed Chinese view and input.(thanks Ricky) But i`d like to use apps like Panda Reader, QQ and etc, but Energy Rom display absolutly incorrect fonts. So how i can combine Full Chinese support with Energy rom?
Thanks for help!
In many new built of Windows Mobile, old Chinese CE-Star cannot work after installation. You have to modify and add the registry in order to make it work. Now I am using one of the newest build (as if 20 July 2010) - 23673 and it works with Chinese now (of course with registry modified).
1. Please install something like CE-Star first. But it cannot work immediately.
2. import this in registry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink]
"Courier"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"SC_Song"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"宋体"="\\windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Times New Roman"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"MS Sans Serif"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Segoe Condensed"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Arial"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Courier New"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Kingsoft Phonetic Plain"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Mangal"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Nina"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Segoe Condensed Bold"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Segoe UI"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Simplified Arabic"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"SofiaSans"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Symbol"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Tahoma"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"PMingLiu"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"UniSun"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"新細明體"="\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
3. Install relevant fonts (e.g. sunfon.ttf)
4. add one more registry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI]
"FontLinkMethods"=dword:0000000
This solution works for me
1. Install something like CE-Star first.
2. If it cannot work immediately, import this in registry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\FontLink\Sys temLink]
"Courier"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"SC_Song"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"宋体"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Times New Roman"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"MS Sans Serif"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Segoe Condensed"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf,Tahoma;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Arial"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf,Tahoma;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Courier New"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf,Tahoma;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Kingsoft Phonetic Plain"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf,Tahoma;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Mangal"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf,Tahoma;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Nina"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf,Tahoma;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Segoe Condensed Bold"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf,Tahoma;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Segoe UI"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf,Tahoma;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Simplified Arabic"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf,Tahoma;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"SofiaSans"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf,Tahoma;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Symbol"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf,Tahoma;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"Tahoma"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf,Tahoma;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"PMingLiu"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf,Tahoma;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"UniSun"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf,Tahoma;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
"新細明體"="\\Windows\\Tahoma.ttf,Tahoma;\\Windows\\sunfon.ttf,SC_Song"
Note: Please check if sunfon.ttf or Sunglobe.ttf fonts was be installed into \Windows folder or reference the Chinese font you are using (replace sunfon.ttf in above by your font name)
Hope it help!
Please can someone talk me how I can read Hebrew and Russian fonts om my HTC Hero.
Sent from my HTC Hero using XDA App
If you want only the fonts try the Hebrew fonts from here:
http://content.modaco.net/hero/1.0-update-hero-modacocustomrom-hebrewfonts-signed.zip
Personally, I use and recommend HebVillain (works well with English UI as well). Newest version is here:
http://iandroid.co.il/phpBB3/topic5651.html
It uses the same fonts as above, and I can see Hebrew and Russian (although the later I do not understand...).

rename "ARIALUNI.ttf" to "DroidSansFallback.ttf"
DroidSansFallback.ttf is used when particular charector is not available default font.

Hi, I'm new to Android. This gnote is my first Droid, I'm really happy with it so far. Just a few questions if anyone can help that would be awesome.
1, is there a way to remove the preloaded UK apps that came with the phone?
2, right now i can only switch between UK English and US English while typing, is there a way to add more languages like Chinese and Vietnamese?
3, can unwanted languages be removed?
Thank you.
For the languages,you have to be Rooted,after that install the Root Eplorer,with it go to the folders: Android>System>Fonts and from there add or remove the ttf files,at least thats what I do on my HD2 and it works.
Thank you. I will look into rooting. Where can I find ttf files for other language?

I use the attached ttf file (which i have extracted from Windows 7 Tahoma Font to use it on my HD2WM),Successfully on my Android devices to read Armenian,I know it also supports many other langusges as well,like Hebrew,Arabic etc.but i am not sure of Chinese,
Just copy/paste/replace/
You can do a search for Roboto Fonts as well.
You will need 7-ZIP to extract it.
sweet! thank so much.
