Hi!
is there any good ROM for White ZTE Blade II from TeliaSonera (GEN2)
ROM Which have good files which are fast which can get really good Quadrant point...?
there is only ROMs for Blade which are not good: Quadrant 444 or more
ROMs for ext4... I didn't make new partition because now I use Win7 not ubuntu!
and it looks like I got it to work (GingerBread)
CM7 some features not work sometimes ex: touch screen!
I need good ROM which are most Stable and Fastest!
Does anybody know good ROM for Gen2?
thnx!

BAD Quadrant point and it is slow! :/
but thnx!
=)
I use right now GingerBread (Quadrant: 890-980)
Enable Stagefright and you'll get a better quadrant score, not that it matters.
OK, thanks!
have you tried Blue Ginger v5 ?
I actually love it, but am not very experienced and have no idea what Quadrant is.
(note that this is the rom I am struggling to get boot sound on though)
just installed that Quadrant, standard edition
and it gives my gen 2 blade with blue ginger only 760 !
Blue Ginger perhaps no use to you then, but I love it nonetheless.

Agree, most ROM's based on the Gingerbread Leak or Ginger Stir Fry are quite stable and solid.

Man with CM7 you get a new nightly every night! So every time someone suggests you and you reply 'I try Nxxx, I try Nxxx' - there is no way out!
Also, Quadrant scores are rubbish, pointless and baseless! I won't go by that.
None of the Gen2 2.2 will give you a better score than CM7 or any other gingerbread based ROMs.
When you enable stagefright, overclock etc - you might get closer but then you will lose battery WAY more quicker! - so not good enough for daily use.
If you are fussy about Quadrant scores - CM7 is your best bet.
If you are fussy about 'everything must be stable' - then GSFB19 or SSRL5 or Flb Froyo R12 are your best bets. GSFB19 is 2.3.4 and other two are 2.2
If you are not fussy about having fast and smooth phone - then GSFB20.
I know you might say, "Now I use CM7 N162"

the nightly ROMs: yes every night/day newer!
but so what, if the nightly is working more than the normal 7.1 RC then I use nightly older or never!
I wait when they make 7.1 stable or 7.1 RC then I use it!
Froyo 2.2: Quadrant sucks + overlock is not nice for froyo, difficult to ROOT, some ROMs can't to be ROOTED, Froyo stragefright: not faster!
So I use CM or GB ROMs which works fine!
I think CM stable releases only mean the CM specific are stable, not the entire build.
Which Froyo ROM's are hard to root/can't be rooted?
Stagefright was disabled as it was giving ridiculously high quadrant scores IIRC and was subsequently determined broken. The main advantage of enabling it on Froyo was to play Gameloft games without the broken textures, probably not to improve overall speed.

The CM Nightly's are not Stable! bur I use that ROM which works much better than other stable!
in nightly (newest) only wifi and other fixes nothing really much else..?
Froyo: I hate froyo because I think that froyo is not finished version..? Many froyo ROMs have too much problems which is not nice!
All Froyo ROMs Which I used (Stock) them are so hard to ROOT! need to add missing root files and other files to get ROOT to work fine even with z4root!
in Froyo Stock ROMs the superuser not work fine!
stable and other Froyo versions: maybe them have good ROOT files so then works normally!
and froyo have too bad quadrant, many games lagging, easily slowing down, many froyo ROMs don't have good apps2sd files to get files to SD card!
if the stragefright is enabled in froyo then: quadrant is something 500-800 P on Blade!
And gingerBread: stragefright not enabled almost same points 500-800 and some can get more than 900 and with enables stragefright: quadrant points are: 900-1480..? I got some day more than 1430 P on CM nightly (with stragefright..)
So I use CM nightly when there is newer Nightly where is better files!
P.S. If I flash to newer CM nightly then Do I need to do wipe and all if the newer don't have new apps?
I don't want to download all apps and games again to my Blade... :/
SORRY IF I WROTE TOO MUCH!
I need to go school so I don't have time to check this text.. -.-
I find N161+ (unofficial nightly), find it on MoDaCo very stable, battery life is also good. You may want to give it a go. It has a proximity sensor calibration app for those who have problems with it e.g. Me and a few other people.
When you update to a newer nightly then just wipe Cache/Dalvik Cache from ClockworkMod recovery, all your data/apps will remain.

ZTE Blade don't have good ROMs, all have bugs and problems whatever which stock, stable ROM! :/
Minimalist 3.2.1 ROM.
Built on custom modified Tiamat Xoom 2.1 ROM and HoneyVillain 2.5 kernel. No screenshots available. Just imagine or look up what the Xoom's UI looks like.
Download the ROM here.
Instead of doing a mega-patch, I've just decided to upload the numerous enhancements and fixes as an entire new ROM.
Kernel sources will be available here - https://github.com/anarchron/Iconia_a500_3.1
Thank you for posting a new rom, though a more detailed guide of what is included/not and some screen shots would be excellent. Thank you.
What is this based on? Stock Asus?
EDIT: But also, thankyou for putting in the effort!
Just wondering, since you didn't mention it in detail in the first post.
Did you include honeyvillain 2.5 kernel?
Stock Xoom 3.2 with modified HoneyVillain kernel.
any chance of some screen shots?
also, what apps are included/excluded?
thank you.
ROM is working very well here, thank you for the effort you've put in.
I decided to be a bit cheeky and see if it would work upgrading from HoneyVillain (3.1 Acer base) without a data wipe, and it worked fine. If I come across any issues though I'll be sure to wipe before complaining.
Downloading......seems very interesting specially the fix of the portrait mode....
Thanks

First feedback - will it work with Richardtrip's stock 2.5 kernel without your modifications? And if not - could you enable overclocking in your kernel? You've got it set to a maximum of 1ghz it seems.

It won't work on the stock kernel. I made a mistake earlier and left out the over clocking function. I'm currently rebuilding the kernel and preparing a patch to enable overclocking.
To fully comply with GPL stuff, I will be forking the HoneyVillain kernel source sometime later this week. I have yet to figure out the subtleties of github.

Hey guys I'm pretty new to android roms etc etc I have a 512 mb gen 2 european blade that much i found out but i wanted to know whether there was a complete stockish rom with the latest kernel patches? I am running GSF now and it is fast and stuff but i would really like it to go faster with the latest kernels as it was updated quite some time back so i imagine it wont have the latest patches... any ROM without any cm7 mods and all just plain and simple stripped and modded stock with latest kernel mods like gpu axi uv etc ?

U know the answer cm with tons of performance boosts and options
to be honest if you want your phone to go faster i would go with cyanogen mod 7 latest kang + wbaws kernel with GPU overclock
So the stock based ROMS arent the ones with the best performance..?okay and by latest kang which should i try?(i really dont want to overclock and things like that as it may damage the phone no?)
Err.. Cyanogen?
In my experience, cyanogen is one of the heaviest and slowest roms I've encountered, although that might just be me . It's filled with cool stuff and options though.
So far I've been hugely impressed with Elite Blade Rom:
It also has a stock looking ui, except for a sexy lock screen. It's very fast, and battery lasts f o r e v e r. Which is very important to me atleast.
Overclocking doesn't damage your phone, because it only lets you overclock to about 800mhz, and if it doesn't like that clock, it just crashes and goes to normal. Around 730mhz always worked for me, and battery life seems not to be affected.
Stock roms are like buying a new laptop, filled with user friendliness and sponsored apps. In other words; Mighty damn slow. So custom ones are definitely the way to go.
One down, nine to go!
By stock Roms i meant stock based modded roms but i agree thats what i thought was bad about cyanogen that it was real slow when i tried it once before i dont thats why understand how the KANGS will make a difference plus i want stock similar roms as there are no bugs not even minor ones for example in elite blade in landscape mode in the status bar the peeking android looks weirdly stretched and stuff the small things..are perfect in GSF.. if the KANGS can work faster then im willing to try that but preferably i want to know if there's a way to add the latest kernel patches or the latest kernel to GSF..?
Thanks for the replies guys
(Swedish Snow was nice but for some reason GSF still feels faster )
hmm ok i will help you out a bit after trying a lot of different roms available for the blade including ones not available on these forums since they are only Chinese based (im not chinese i just like to try out there roms).
Overclocking will not damage your phone mate because if you overclock your phone to a limit which is not supported by your phone it will simply reboot and put back the normal CPU settings for your phone to work in a proper manner (Do not tick set CPU settings in boot).
GPU overclocking is nothing to worry about because the GPU will overclock when you overclock the CPU (3D games experience on the ZTE Blade has improved)
As for other saying they find cyanogen mod 7 slow i do not know what version they flashed but i prefer to use CM7 Kangs developed by BurgerZ & Kernel developed by wbaw (both extremely talented devs).
The reason others may find CM7 slow is because they use ADW Launcher (free) by default but burgerz uses stock gingerbread launcher.
if you dont want to use CM7 my second fav rom for performance would be Swedish Snow
@ruckus92
i tried the rom when it was updated last, it was not bad neither good as the libs it uses need updating nowadays.
CyanogenMod is pretty bloated, but some kangs are not as bloated.
I find that Burstlam's kangs are pretty light and fast. I guess he must have gotten used to developing for Chinese blades (they only have 256 mb of ram)
You can find his latest build here.
I have tried the stock-based roms but didn't notice any major difference between them and Burstlam's rom.
And like Kannibalism said, ADW Launcher free is slow as heck. I suggest you switch to ADW Launcher EX, or a different launcher the next time you try a cyanogenmod rom.

nope no trouble mate just restore your backup
follow these steps:
1) take out the battery to turn off the phone
2) power on the phone holding the power button + volume down button (keep holding do not let go of these two buttons till cwm boots)
3) Clockwork recovery will boot up
4) select backup & restore
5) select the backup you want to use
6) wait for it to restore your data could take a few mins
thats all mate

On Hashcodes 28/04 ROM I linked to above you must go to Settings > Storage > Press the menu button in the top right and select USB Mass Storage and then the USB connection to the PC will work.
My Vote
My vote out of the ones listed here would be for GedeROM 1.2. I have tried all of the ones listed here (except for Hashcode's which I can no longer find in the Dev Forum) and Gedemis's seems to be the smoothest, at least on my KF. I don't think you can go wrong though with any ROM that uses Hashcode's fantastic 3.0 Kernel.
Hope that helps Thanks for listening.
Sincerely,
William

There is no sound on keyboard click. but battery life is awesome
The best way I can put this is GEDE rom is amazing. I just bought the Fire a few days ago with the refurbish sale, and rooted it within 15 minutes of opening the box. I already own the transformer prime + dock, and sadly I haven't picked it up since I got the fire. Gede rom is as close to perfect I have come across all the roms so far. It does everything my prime can do. Only downside (a plus is my eyes) are no key sounds. I hate them anyway.
The fire just feels soooooo much better in the hand than the prime. I thought the 7 inch screen size might be a limiting factor, but I don't really mind it. 7 inches vs 10 inches of screen space is negligible depending on how close you hold it to your face anyway. I've actually been on the fence about putting my prime up on ebay. I honestly don't see the benefits for 500 dollars over the fire outside of more memory. I have tons of apps, emulators, movies and music on my fire, and still have space to spare. Don't think I have a problem with only 5gb of space if you know how to format your media correctly.
I have tried Hashcode's, lithium76 AOKP ROM, Reloaded and GedeROM.
I have stuck with GedeROM.
I have not tried Energy ROM yet though.
The modaco rom works well if you like stock

another vote for gedeROM however it is the first ICS rom I have used coming from CM7 but I dont see any reason to switch. Transition was super smooth also, just backed everything up with titanium, flashed ICS, restored the apps without a hitch
GedeROM all the way.
I was on Hash's ROM for a while, then thought I'd try gedemis' ROM, and it AWESOME. Smooth, quick, and very few noticeable errors. No offense to any of them, but I do find it funny some people are saying the keyboard makes no sound. What, your magical fingers don't make a sound when they tap on glass? I personally think it's a trivial bug, but there are some out there who might NEED it for whatever reason, so it's understandable.

yes all I need for now is the AOSP 2.1 download. The 2.1 download I need is for build ERD79 since that is the build the nook runs.
the CPU speed is the big difference. The motorola droid has a 600 mhz ti omap cpu. The nook touch has an 800 mhz ti omap cpu.
so the nook should be able to run stock aosp 2.1.
I think I found the motorola droid android 2.1 update file. http://www.mediafire.com/?iny1nnnodmh
it is odexed and the patch folder contains files with a ,p extension.
what I need is an aosp 2.1 update file that is deodexed.
Tough one.

This is deodexed android 2.2.1 for motorola droid. I do not know if this can be nodded. If it can be ported to the nook it would be cool.
I think having a deodexed android 2.1 ROM would be easier to port.
I might be possible. The galaxy tab 3 did not get android 4.2 it came with 4,1, but the galaxy tab 3 lite came with android 4.2. The galaxy tab 3 lite stock rom got ported over to the galaxy tab 3.
