[Q] Sony ericsson aspen help - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Can i change my current sony ericsson aspen windows mobile 6.5.3 os by android os?Please help me.if possible tell me full process of installing android.

Same Query
All searches on multiple forums have resulted in ZERO answers for this question. All suggest that max of WM 6.5.3 (the one updated by SE) is possible.
I also wanted to know if any upgrade to WM 7 or WM 7.5 (mango) is possible for SE Aspen and also a dual boot WM and Android is possible for this build. It was a good model with great sales, so I wonder why there has been no build / upgrade for that model even by SE.
Any help appreciated

I've try to find another source to get android OS for Aspen,,but unfortunately i can't proper information accordingly.

ya mee too i havent found any way to install or dualboot android on my se aspen though i 'm still reading and searching for it

Yeah i want android on aspen too..the hardware is good candidate for android port

OpenMoko on QTEKS200

Hi! I'm a user of a QTEKS200, with Windows Mobile 5.0
And I find this new OS for SmarthPhone
http://www.openmoko.com/press/index.html
And I'm asking if somebody knows, how to boot this Linux Distribution on my S200.
If somebody know something, just tell in this forum!
You can't.
Since the hardware drivers for WM based devices like your S200 are part of the ROM image and tightly packed along with the OS, unless someone goes to the great trouble of reverse engineering them and recompiling for this new platform, there is no way your phone will run this OS.
Plus, from what I see on their site this is not a generic distribution, but like other embedded OSs a device specific version.

Click to collapse
First, this distribution is not available. Second, the Prophet has omap850 CPU
which is a PITA to support with Linux because it is completely undocumented.

Android on Himalaya??

Hi !
Based on this : http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Xanadux
What d u think, is it possible to have Android on our Himalaya device??
For those who doesnt know Android: http://code.google.com/android/index.html
As i do understand from the existing infos (google forums and the wiki above) if somebody smart enough may run NOW the Android on hima...
Am i right, am i wrong or am i just dreaming??
whoa!!! 10 million dollars?! that's fantastic!
I am waiting the good news from the master of HIMA
The official facts say:
Will ANDROID run on (insert phone here)? No.
Having said that, the OS is based on open source linux and the programs on java. The hima can already handle java apps, so that is one step in the right direction.
As for the os, linux on a hima might be a bit different (yes I am aware of the above mentioned hima linux os). It really all depends if they tailor the code to upcoming phones and backwards compatible or just for upcoming phones.
There facts section suggests the latter.
SymbianOS ?
Hi folks,
and what about SymbianOS ? I read an official statement from 2001 that Symbian and Intel concluded a cooperation agreement about the port of Symbian OS to StrongARM/XScale ...
The statement (german) :
http://www.tecchannel.de/news/themen/business/408982/
So long
HonkBB
does it only run java progs ?
judging from the speed diff between .net and java apps on wm
compared to native progs
that would be pretty slow

[Q] Windows Mobile 6.5 on ZTE V9 (Light)

Hey Guys,
I'm a big Andrid Fan but also a WM 6.5 Fan.
So i want WM 6.5 on the ZTE V9? Is it possible?
And if it's possibel is ther a finished Rom anywhere?
Zhanks for Help
Maggo
PS. I'm a German Guy and not a English professional person!
That's a Chinese Android device try asking in android section might be a start in the right direction
I'll second this question, but mostly talking about emulating Windows Mobile on any Android device. Could something like Haret be made, just emulating our beloved WM? This is the main problem that keeps me from switching to Android
If you write proper drivers, sure .
What do you mean by those drivers, isn't Win Mobile designed to support every resolution and hardware configuration? And, at least theorically, it is possible to create something like that? Sorry if that sounds noob-ish, I just have no knowledge on Android-specified programming
