[Q] When Tether Hiccups - Acer Iconia A500

When I tether the tab from my phone, I am streaming music from the radio app,
if I turn the screen off to conserve power then hiccups every couple of minutes or so, keep buffering, but if I leave the screen on there is no disturbance at all for hours. Is Iconia falling asleep or what I am really disappointed of this issue on top of that screen can be selected to be on for 30min.

So nobody streams on your tab? And if you do when turn the screen of does run without breaking up on the sound, buffering etc...

I stream on occasion. I do get the buffering a lot however the times that i stream i am watching videos and only need it for about an hour so it does not bother me.

When you watching videos in same time seems ok since your screen is on my problem is when turning the screen off goes into buffering a lot vs if screen on works very fine no buffer for hours.

Epic low battery-phone goes crazy

my battery got low and it kept saying at the bottom to plug it in..it was basically flashing at the bottom of the screen every 5 seconds or so..also it would not let me paly music..i would click the song and it makes the screen animation as if its about to go to the song, then it dosent....this is really annoying. even if the battery is low i should still be able to listen to music...and it was just under 20 percent...way enough battery to listen to music..
It will also not allow you to take photos

It will also not let you watch videos. Annoying.
thats stupid, can you disable this when rooted/or with a rom (whenever they are released). so the phone is useless except for calls when under 20 percent battery..idiotic

YouTube freezes & causes all other videos to stop working

I've got a strange issue with YouTube thats causing all video files on the phone to stop working (playing)
YouTube is working ok, but if I pause any video thats playing & let the screen time out (turn off) when I return back to the phone the youtube video doesnt 'unpause' & then youtube freezes. I get the 'Youtube isnt responding' dialog box & I can kill the application. The samething happens is I try to skip through the video using the slider at the bottom.
The really odd thing about this though is that after this freeze happens I cannot play ANY video on the phones (avi, mp4 etc) using MX Player or the normal player. I just get the 'waiting' circle. I need to restart the phone.
Anyone got any ideas whats going on?
Cheers.
It could be the ROM you're on.

Using stock ROM, 4.2.1
Happens to me too, but I'm not sure about other videos stopping working after youtube crashes. Usually have to reboot my phone to fix it. It also happens (always) when I'm playing a video from my data/wifi and then switch from data/wifi to wifi/data, if that makes sense?
Hopefully will be fixed soon.
Happens to me too on my stock N4, very annoying especially if I want to seek half way through a long video. Seems to be OK on wifi. It also happens if I try and play an HQ video over my data connection. So seems like there's no fix for this yet? Argh!

Youtube stops after like 30-45min video

A try to play 1hr long video but never makes it stops after 30min or more, and playback is unresponsive ..during stock and force rom, any fix? Not to mention theres a bug whenever I connect a pc speaker no audio comes out sometimes and then my phone speakers stops as well when I disconnect it

Anyone's S7 Edge reboot after high pitched beep while watching video?

My wife just reported to me that her phone just rebooted after high pitched noise while watching a video.
I saw similar report on Reddit, but there was no reply to it other than couple of people who just returned the phone and got a replacement.
Has anyone experienced it? She has been using the phone for a few days and it was the first time. i wonder whether her slow SD card was causing this issue, but I don't know. I never had experienced the reboot and I have over 200 hours of uptime (since the T-mobile pushed the update) on my GS7E.
Someone suspected the "active View" setting, but it was off on her phone.
I watched hours of video without any issues so just wondering whether this was a freak issue, or something that people have seen before.
Thanks.
Funny, my wife experienced this too while watching you tube. Happened only once and her phone has been fine since.

Happened to me yesterday, first I was using Tango to video conference with my Dad and all of a sudden, phone freezed up with a high pitch noise then rebooted itself. Tried it again and same thing after a couple minutes.
So I gave up and figured it was probably a glitch with the Tango app, went to watch some YouTube an hour later and same thing happened, loud high pitch sound, phone freezes and reboots. Hasn't happened again with YouTube but I'll keep an eye out, happens everytime though with the Tango video call within 2-3 minutes.

My wife was using MX Video player. I don't know whether it was using hardware or software decode mode though. (I don't know why on her phone, the app appear to default to software mode all the time - probably some setting I missed).
The same thing happened to me last night and today! Last night I was watching a < 30 min video on YouTube and it was at either 720p or 1080p, and today I was watching a Facebook video on Chrome that was probably 420p or less. Wtf is going on! Is my phone going to explode?? Lol no but seriously, if I did a full retail purchase on my phone, then who would I contact for an exchange? I bought my phone from Best Buy for the Verizon network but I am on a third party cell phone carrier.
same issue on youtube video - landscape
I just sent mine back as defective as every time I watched a YouTube in portrait it was fine, but when I rotated video to landscape it would pixelate green blocks and then loud beep and then reboot.
I'm new to posting so I can't post a link but:
I made a crappy video on Youtube but can't post link. should be able to find it ...search..........Samsung S7 edge Youtube landscape video problem
Hmm.. It is odd.. I was watching John Oliver You Tube video without any issues and I do watch using MX Player for hours without any issues.. So, maybe it is my wife's phone that may be having an issue.. Interesting.. I will have to see what Costco can do for me.
Just literally happened to be last night using mx player. I had to restart and it worked fine. I had been using mx player for prolly close to 25 hours so 1 hiccup isn't to bad.
Is this a Snapdragon issue? My Exynos version hasn't done anything weird (yet).

There's a big thread on this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/getting-random-restarts-reboots-t3327296
Mine just beeped super loud like an alarm after watching a youtube video. I hit the "back" button and the beeping stopped. Googled it and found this thread
Had this happen to me last week, a super loud high pitched car alarm type sound, i actually thought it wasnt my phone making the noise, i said to my mate, is that you!! he says no.
And yes, it was coming from the s7 edge speaker, thought it was impossible for a phone to make such a noise.
Rebooted the phone and it stopped making the noise.

Streaming Music Always buffers/stops

I've been noticing that since upgrading to the S7 I have not been able to use my S7 for streaming music. It happens when I am streaming music through Amazon Prime Music and I am streaming content to my device. After listening for a few minutes the phone will constantly buffer and take 10-15 minutes to gather the data to play the song through. This problem never occurred with Amazon Music on my LG G2. It has led me to give up on streaming music and only rely on local content. Am I missing a setting that limits my data connection with the screen off? I assume it's a setting that I am missing here which limits the data connection while the screen is off. It buffers more consistently while the screen is on. Any thoughts?
Try going into settings/battery/more and apps optimized to unselect Amazon.
Are you currently using greenify? Also, do you get the same results when using other music streaming apps like spotify or Pandora?

The issue has been fixed. Might have been something with an update.
