any idea ?

Yes! +1
I have wondered the same thing. I have a evo running MIUI 1.9.9 w/ Tiamat 4.0.7 sbc. And my awake is consistantly over 90%
Is there a way we can just force the phone to sleep when the screen is off? Better yet can we pick what apps are allowed to keep a wake lock and which ones cannot?

Alarm won't automatically switch phone on when it's time?

Hi all,
Do you all have any app to recommend for this? I'm a bit dulled by this fact that the alarm won't switch the.phone on when it's off.

This is a feature that android does not support and I dont think any app could over ride it due to the way the operating system is built.I do miss this feature from my symbian phones
When the phone is off, Android is no longer running. The phone itself probably supports a wake from deep standby, but it would be Galaxy S specific, and not something supported by the Android SDK.
are there any other solutions to this? Well, if not, I guess I have to buy a digital alarm clock.
Is there any feature I could let my phone know I am going to sleep, pls don't alert me until the alarm wakes?

I would just turn of the notification sounds in the pulldown menu so that you are not disturbed in your sleep by emails. I have sync on (All google services), let wifi on and loose just 2% in a night on my battery power.
Do you have any task killers running?
If so make sure you exclude the 'Clock' App from the list otherwise the Alarm will not go off.
Basically you need the clock application running all the time to monitor not just the time but when the alarm is due to wake the phone from idle.

Quickest way to determine which process keeps the phone awake

I'm currently running cm7.02 nightly #94 with a color theme.
I can see that sometimes my phone doesn't sleep properly. There are periods of time 1-2 hours long when the phone is awake with the screen still off.
What is the quickest and the most efficient way to figure out which process is doing that?
Thanks.
Spare parts, download it click battery history and them partial wake lock or something. I'm not sure if it still works. It would force close on sense 2.3 don't know about asop

I like using Process Monitor Widget. Download it from the market. Open it up, then hit menu>record. keep the phone unplugged, turn the screen off, and let the phone sit for like 5-8 hours with Process Monitor Widget recording (preferably overnight). Then, stop recording, and hit analyze. It should be evident what is causing the wake lock.

I'm going to second and say use Spare parts, super easy and it will tell you what is keeping the phone awake.
Man best way to tell is to go to the menu and click on about phone all the way at th e bottom and check your battery there is a uptime and awake time if you are having wake issues both of these numbers will be the same even when the phone is off.
Been running synergy nightlys with latest OTA no wake issues for me.

Most of the time it's when WIFI is on it will keep phone awake I noticed this when it's off phone sleeps like a baby. Some apps can do this also but mostly WIFI seems to do it for me on some nightlys depends on the rom tho .

I have never suffered a Wi-Fi issue like that. Never once have my problems with awake time ever been that. Always is a bad app... Which Spare Parts will show you which is doing it specifically.

Sorry for the delay. When you have process monitor widget open, if you press menu, one of the options is record. Press that to start recording. Let it sit for a few hours, then go back into process monitor widget. When you press menu, you'll see it says recording. Press that to stop recording, then press the analyze button and review the results.

What is preventing my deep sleep?

I have tried numerous suggestions of other forum users after searching through Google, but just cannot solve my deep sleep issue. My phone continuously idles at around 200Mhz clock speed, despite following recommendations and unlocking/turning on phone screen prior to unplugging. I have installed Better Battery Stats and from it gathered the following...
Partial Wakelocks:
Kik Messenger (Uninstalled)
RILJ
AudioOut_1
AlarmManager
SMS Dispatcher
Any ideas how I can solve these?
I wouldnt use juice defender, it isnt really needed with modern devices, plus the built in power saver does the same job.
I would recommend downloading better battery stats. its a paid app but will tell you what is using up cpu power when not in use.
99% of battery drain is down to apps / user configurations, NOT faulty hardware.

Don't you think I have tried that? I simply can't find a solution to my RILJ, AlarmManager or AudioOut_1 wakelocks.
Post screenshot of partial wakelocks please
For audio try disabling in setttings then sound then all in bottom
For rilj, which kernel are you using?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
For alarmmanager there is a thread that goes into alarms. You must have an app using that to do something every few timeperiods.
Search for it in google with alarmmanager wakelock you should be able to find it. Can be tedious finding that one. Was ages ago I had it.
Try uninstalling any special powerrsaving apps for that one.

3. Restart phone.
4. Wait 2 mins for it to load.
5. Turn air plane mode off and turn your sound back on.
Done! You phone will now enter deep sleep

i am also facing the deep sleep issue here are the steps i did
1. do a factory reset + format interanl sd ( knowingly i can hard brick my fone but it did't) do it at your own risk:angel:
2. when it booted up charged it until get 100% charged
3. then get into cwm recovery cleared my cache 4 times in a row
4. then wiped my battery stats

Not worth the risks. I already get 16 hours of battery. This is just to improve it for me.

Hi all - Just landed here on a search for AudioOut_1 partial wake locks and figured I'd give it a go. I can say this method works on the Epic 4g Touch as well. Maybe this will save some E4GT owners some searching. Thanks for the fix!

Wake Up and Sleep Bug - ICS AOSP 4.0.4 (khanning88 builds)

Hi All -
Can someone help me solve a problem that I am having with my K1. When my K1 sleeps for more than 30 minutes, it wont restore itself by hitting the on button. I have to hold the on button until the panel lights up and then reboots.
I experienced this when I had Honeycomb installed and the auto brightness was turned on, I have turned off the auto brightness and set the brightness to 40% (estimated) and I still have to reboot to wake the K1 up.
I'm running Lenovo Ideapad K1 w/Rooted Official AOSP 4.0.4 rev. 2 (khanning88 build)
Any suggestions?

I came here researching the same issue. Pretty annoying. You cant sleep it, if it goes too long powers down. Probably best on battery savings, but annoying when you just pick it up and have to reboot everytime in between use.

I don't have any problems with the sleep bug. I'm also running the AOSP ICS rom. You can try reinstalling your rom through CWM.

No problems here either. Get CPU Spy and check the times spent at each frequency (also see if you are going into deep sleep). Before you reflash the ROM, you might try to wipe both the cache and the dalvik cache and reboot - that may solve the issue
No problems here either. Did you flash the rom via CWM or NVFLASH? I installed it using NVFLASH and have almost no problems, id recommend flashing it that way if you haven't.
the problem is not because of the auto brightness. You have to make wifi connection stay enabled during sleep. Go to Setting - wireless - advanced and make it always stay enabled..

Phone freezes overnight

When I have my phone plugged in over night and then hit the unlock screen button, the screen doesn't turn on.
I have to hard reset to get the phone on then everything is fine.
What is causing this and how do i stop it?
Running totally stock rom 4.3
Which apps do u have installed on your Nexus? I saw the freezing issue with touch control. If U had no apps it could have just been a bad flash
Have you got any overclocking apps?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4
I have been dealing with this for a while. It has made me late to work since I use my phone as my alarm and the alarm does not go off when this occurs. I've tried everything. Toggled daydream mode to ensure it was off, done a factory reset and installed no apps, done a full factory image flash to make sure there was no issue with the system files, tried a different charger, tried not charging, etc... it still occurs about once a week. I plan to call Google to ask if this is a warranty issue.

Download and install Safe Charge from Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sash.sodeliminator. Open Safe Charge after installing the app and click the Enable Safe Charge check box. The developer has an explanation at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2226698 of how his app prevents the Nexus from entering deep sleep while the phone is plugged in. I installed his app after experiencing two sleep of death episodes in my first week with the Nexus and have not had one since.
I tracked it down that it only happens when wifi is enabled. When it's not enabled the phone doesn't freeze.
Try disabling location access? Wifi might have connection with that. No harm trying right?
Wifi on at night isn't good for human deep sleep anyway so I off it.
