[Q] Revert to stock - EVO 4G General

I'm searching for a way to remove the rooted rom I have and go back to stock. I've found several rooted stocks, but I need to be fully stock. I'm looking at upgrading and will be selling my phone. The person that wants it requested it to be completely stock. Can someone point me in the right direction on this?

There are 2 topics in the Development section that can assist you in rolling back to a completely stock firmware without root.

Stock rom

I am rooted and on slimbean rom and I love it but I am one that likes to change back and forth between roms. I was wondering if there is a stock rom that I can flash without having to unroot? I do like the multi Window and the camera from the stock firmware but I won't want to stay on that for long. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Since rooting is so easy, I haven't seen anyone create a Stock+root ROM yet...
But then again I haven't been looking for one.

Rooted before realising there was an update.

Hi,
Bought a brand new gt-i9300 unlocked in the uk. yesterday.
I rooted it first, assuming I'd get a non-stock rom on the phone, but in my digging only found people with problems on the roms I'm familiar with (latest CM, Android Revolution). I'm hesitant to put a buggy rom on, so will have to use stock for the time being, definitely want root access though.
The issue I have, is that as I rooted, now I see the mb5>mg4 ota ugrade won't work. I've got kies on my mac (so I know that's the update I need).
Can anyone advise - should I:
a) just update to mg4 using kies, then re-root? (is there an issue with overwriting the IMEI / EFS here, or am I confused)?
b) return to stock (reset the counter), unroot, update, then re-root?
c) leave as is on MB5?
d) keep looking for a rom that's got a more recent android (I'd prefer stock rather than touchwiz) - is there a stable option?
advice appreciated, as I'm a little lost.
Please follow the link in my signature to General > sticky roll-up thread
Read:
1) Understanding the basics before rooting.
2) IMEI / EFS - Know this stuff
Read both before you do anything else please.
Many AOSP roms are stable. 4.3 is new though so they're less so. 4.2.2 is fine.

Ah, my apologies - i've waded into the wrong place and asked too vague a question.

how to unroot and go stock mf9

so cant really find anything that helps the answer I am looking for
Sprint updated my phone to mf9 than I rooted it
now I am thinking I want to go back to stock mf9 and clean the counter
I know I need to use triangle away and read that once you use it stop the reboot and load stock mf9 and it will make it look like everything is stock and wouldnt have tripped the counter
is this true?
I used odin to root it but other than the hotspot mod I dont really need it rooted
1) This goes in the Q&A forum.
2) There are tons of guides available on how to do this. Search is your friend.

i figure it was a developer issue since it was with a roted device, and it said to post in geneneral if it wasnt a specific rom issue

Looking to unlock bootloader & root. What's best? Advice please!

So this is my first Motorola android device.
Got it second hand last weekend. And I have already sent it to Motorola's repair centre. SBE UK. I received it back today.
I was having battery problems and problems when resetting phone and not being able to then set it up properly. They have 'repaired' the device which seems OK.
Just now I'm looking to root the stock app. Mainly for xposed and gravity box and ad blocking. As I'm happy with the rest.
It is the XT1572. Running latest MM stock 6.0 rom. Now can I unlock bootloader and flash a custom recovery and root this MM rom?
Also having to unlock the bootloader is the only option available using the Motorola option and getting my unique unlock code? As that will 'void' warranty.
Also if I do unlock, flash a custom recovery and root. Is it easy to get back to stock if needed.
Thanks for the help.

I would suggest learning how to read and then checking out the stickied threads in the general forum.
Thanks for the polite reply. I know how to root and flash a custom recovery. But every device is different. I have come from a one plus one so know what's what.
But haven't come across a system's root. And I couldn't find a stock factory firmware/rom for my UK variant of the 6.0 rom. But thanks for your help.

Your questions have all been covered. No one is trying to be rude. There is just no reason to rehash well covered topics that with a little searching and reading you could find the answers. Everything you asked i learned in less than an hour just doing searches here on xda.
As far as restoring to stock, i haven't really looked too much into it. However i believe you can find the stock ROM on Motorola website for developers. Don't have a link but I have come across it to see if they offered it.
No it's fine I've done it all now just never come across systemless root before. And with the one plus one always had a route to get back to factory stock. Plus just wanted to know about the unlocking procedure and if Motorola do refuse to repair phone if it's requested it's unlocking code. I've got a few questions about systemless rooting which I couldn't find when I searched. But I'll just carry on and keep questions to a minimum in the q/a section. Thanks guys.

If you have questions that have not been addressed in these forums then ask in a post. That is the purpose of q&a. Just make sure you keep on subject.

Unroot, default, stock recovery etc, N910F on EE UK

I want to put my note 4 back to complete factory restore, and install latest marshmallow (non EE firmware) stock recovery, complete unroot. Whats the easiest way to get this done apart from giving it to someone else to sort out lol
Thanks
And please don't say use the search etc.. Because I've been looking (maybe not very well) All night and my brain is fried now.
