HELP - market place is not shown! - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I searched this forum, found some similar issues, but none of them worked for me.
I have been using my nook color with cm7 (cm_encore_full-140.zip) from uSD card, and now I decided to install cm7 on the internal memory (emmc). I followed huskermania's guide on youtube (2gb_clockwork-0.7.img>format system/data/cache>copy and run both [update-cm-7.0.3-encore-signed.zip & gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip]), but I am missing the market app. When I searched this forum, many people are having same problems, and I am wondering whether anyone has any idea what to do. BTW I went to setting>account&sync, but it asked to add an exchange account instead of sign-in to google. Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you using the latest version of CWR?

Thanks for the reply, and CWR 3.0.0.5 was downloaded from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=922870). I actually was able to get a response from huskermania via tweet, re-install cm7 7.0.2 and problem was solved. After that, I updated it with a recent nightly build (cm_encore_full-148.zip). I hope this helps others.

ver. 3.2.0.1 is the latest version of CWR and that is what you should be using going forward. Glad you got it working though.....

[Q] Google Maps 4.5 unable to install on HD2 Android

So this is my first thread and I'm not really sure if this is the right place to post this topic.
Basically the title says it all.
FYI:
running darkstone's FroyoStone v2
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747492
unmounting the SD card before attempting to install
un-installing Google Maps 4.4 before attempting to install using Titanium Backup and still no luck
What I'd like to know is if there is a work-around and if not at least a reason why it's unable to install.
I second this
I also have this problem and just wanted to ring in, I suppose we could just try a different build.

Do you know if it's just FroyoStone related though, or just any hd2 android build
Conflikt Icey,
If you had read the thread or at least did a search for maps in Darkstone's ROM thread you would have found this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8096500&postcount=3117
It worked for anyone that tested it, so I suppose it will work for you too...
I had problems installing on HyperDroid 1.2 and, at some point in time, it installed behind my back.

Tried it, didn't work for me. The directory structure was different to that.
Anyone got any further suggestions? I can't be the only one with this problem surely as I am using FroyoStone V2 which seems to be pretty popular.
I couldn't install it with HyperDroid 1.2 but now with Bangsters 1.3 it worked without a problem. You just have to do the installation manually.

Yeah I just tried Bangsters build too and it installed without any issues. So I guess it's build related

Just go to the market, select Maps and then update. It's relatively straight-forward

Market Upgrade? *Solved*

I noticed in the Liberated ROM that it's using the up to date market. However the CM 6.1.1 release is not. I did some searching and found this. But it's not working for me. I tried installing it from recovery. I also tried placing the apk in the /system/app folder still not working. In fact now market is missing all together.
I'm sure it's a easy fix but for whatever reason I'm not figuring it out.
*Solved*
What I ended up doing is wiping, installing CM 6.1.1 booted up. Then installed gapps-mdpi-20101213-signed.zip from recovery. I'm all set now.
Thanks for posting that gapps.

Any clue why that gapps file is so much smaller than the previous one?
The 10/20/2010 file was 16.7 mb, this one is 3.94 mb... ?

So... install the Oct version first then the updated market version from Dec?

That would be my guess, since the Oct version has several things that the Dec one doesn't. I'll probably give this a shot later myself. Let us know how it turns out!
Just installed that gapps, wiped cache & dalvik just in case, so far booted up fine, market works good too. Thanks!

Hello all.... can i get some assistance please???
ROM Manager should make your life a little easier.
Install ROM Manager, start it up, make sure that you RTFM.
To save yourself from making unrecoverable mistakes, search the forum for "nandroid backup" and do one before you start messing about with updating your ROM. You might want to investigate Titanium Backup so that your installed programs and data can be reloaded after a wipe.
Or:
Download 7.0.3, like you probably downloaded your nightly build, and flash it on CWR (ClockWork Recovery).
You'll probably need to convert your Gen (I had to), for that I used a thing called CM7 Universal Converter, worked for me, should work for you. Download it, put it into your SD card (like CM) and then install CM and after CM install the converter.

[Q] How to Fix the problem after flashed the MIUI 1.9.16 ROM

Hi, all the geniuses. I just flashed the MIUI 1.9.16 into my Nook color today.. However,I couldnt normally access to the system. When I turn on my device, There is a dialog box said that "there is problem in android.process.acore". I tried to close this reminder several time but it kept coming up. So how would these happen? any solutions?Aslo, I am using the 3.0.2.8 CWM.so will this be a possible cause? Thanks!
Yes, Your CWM is out of date. Find the latest one 3.2.0.1. Also, there is a much newer MIUI 1.11.04 rom to try (which I happened to love).
Go to miui.us. click on Downloads. Click on Nook Color. Download the latest ROM.
If your need further instructions, post.

Did you see a difference between 1.9.16 and 1.11.4?
Could you tell us what seems better?

Yes, I see a difference. 1.11.4 is snappier and finally my nook doesn't do the occasional freeze up. A much more stable rom for me.

Look at the opening post in this thread and follow the link for CMW. I also use eyeballers image for my SD card. Worked for me when others failed.

i tried to burn the cmw version from the link that you provided. But there was a error, the capicity of the 1GB CMW didnt match my 8gb flash card. Do you know how to fix this problem? or is there anywhere i can download the 8gb CMW ? Thanks!

Wrong GApps version on rooted Wildfire

Hi there, I've successfully rooted my Wildfire A3333. You can welcome me to the gingerbreaders.
But, I've made a mistake. I've installed Google Apps for Android 4.1.3, since I couldn't find older versions (which, of course, I've found right after I've finished the installation on the phone), while the version of Android is 2.3.7 (CM 7.2.0 -buzz). My bad.
Is there any way to fix this and put the right version on GApps?
I've tried installing the RUU (RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.14.405.2_R_C_Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35.15.19_release_141106_signed if that can be of any help) but the installer says the HTC is not connected, which is untrue. And I didn't forget to check the USB debug on. I was meaning to put the clean ROM again on it but didn't work...
Thanks in advance for your replies.
[EDIT] Probably I've posted in the wrong forum, please excuse me for that and move the topic as you wish.

no need for a ruu just do a full wipe from recovery, then reflash your rom and correct gapps
