Hi there, I've successfully rooted my Wildfire A3333. You can welcome me to the gingerbreaders.
But, I've made a mistake. I've installed Google Apps for Android 4.1.3, since I couldn't find older versions (which, of course, I've found right after I've finished the installation on the phone), while the version of Android is 2.3.7 (CM 7.2.0 -buzz). My bad.
Is there any way to fix this and put the right version on GApps?
I've tried installing the RUU (RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.14.405.2_R_C_Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35.15.19_release_141106_signed if that can be of any help) but the installer says the HTC is not connected, which is untrue. And I didn't forget to check the USB debug on. I was meaning to put the clean ROM again on it but didn't work...
Thanks in advance for your replies.
[EDIT] Probably I've posted in the wrong forum, please excuse me for that and move the topic as you wish.

no need for a ruu just do a full wipe from recovery, then reflash your rom and correct gapps

I know this is the wrong section but I got some kind of feeling that there are more people looking in this section.
I have read some guides in the Development section (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537'
But I got some questions about rooting/S-off.
Why is rooting/S-off necessarily, why can't I just put the rom on my SD and go right into recovery mode and boot it up from there?
Also the program visionary plus, I hate that thing so much.... At this step:
Open Visionary and tap temproot, then attempt permroot now. Your device will reboot.
How the hell do I open it? I use Astro File manager or something to go to the file but I can't install the program on my mobile/SD card >.<
Also what do I need to do more besides Wiping my phone? In this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11557769
It says to flash a Radio is this a must? Or is the S-off/Root enough.
Thanks already

No, the DHD has a protected system which precludes overwriting the system partition so without S-OFF you can not make any permanent changes.

Don't use it then the instructions here, achieve root without the use of visionary.

No worries!
When I had the wrong Radio my battery drain was 15% an hour and this was with a sense Rom. imo S-OFF is a must.
i used this and it worked great.

Actually all of the roms now are running Gingerbread, and sense roms are on sense2.1 (With some sense3.0 elements).
My bad, when I was choosing which rom to load yesterday, everything i read said AR was still 2.2. Must have been old threads.
Thanks guys I now know enough

just for the record, nobody can help you based on this information. you need to quote the error message.
Haven't tried CM7 but if you haven't already flashed a rom I'd give a big thumbsup for Leedroids GB rom, very quick, stable and flashed like a dream

+1 for this. definitely give LeeDroid a go if you can. admittedly, it's the only custom one i've used to date (and for less than 24 hours at that), but i can't rate it high enough compared to the branded rom i got in the first place. amazing!

There is no error message. I just can't find a 'exe' or AKP file which will install the program on my SD/Mobile.
@ Above,
No, I haven't flashed a ROM yet since I heard there are some problems with ClockWorkmod of ROM Manager so I am going to wait for a few days xD

sorry to hear that. it's news to me, though. i downloaded it (CWM), and used it last night in the process of flashing the rom, no issues. but i understand the whole 'there may be issues, so i think i'll wait - don't want to brick my phone' line of thought. good luck when you get there. i'm sure you'll be fine if you follow the various guides posted on here. they worked an absolute treat for me (and i'm the definition of n00b).

So basically I'm screwed? Since I need to downgrade to root, and to backup you need to have root >.< but when you downgrade you lose everything xD
I will try it tonight ._.
If you want to back up the new GB OTA ROM then yes but if you just want to back up your apps then No, you don't need root.
Titanium works with root but doesn't need it. Also, if you ticked to let Google keep a backup then your apps will be re-downloaded when you next perform a wipe.

Using Windoze is great....
One word for you: Linux.
At the risk of high jacking this thread, have you installed HTC Sync? Can you connect to HTC Sync? If not, try another USB port (if using front port use back ports or vice-versa). If none work uninstall HTC Sync and reinstall it after rebooting PC.
If that works when you are in adb (making sure USB Debugging is on) try
Code:
adb devices
Do you get a result?

Hello all.... can i get some assistance please???
ROM Manager should make your life a little easier.
Install ROM Manager, start it up, make sure that you RTFM.
To save yourself from making unrecoverable mistakes, search the forum for "nandroid backup" and do one before you start messing about with updating your ROM. You might want to investigate Titanium Backup so that your installed programs and data can be reloaded after a wipe.
Or:
Download 7.0.3, like you probably downloaded your nightly build, and flash it on CWR (ClockWork Recovery).
You'll probably need to convert your Gen (I had to), for that I used a thing called CM7 Universal Converter, worked for me, should work for you. Download it, put it into your SD card (like CM) and then install CM and after CM install the converter.

It is a bug in Cyanogenmod's release, that has been fixed in later nightlies.
Two choices -
Try the 3.4.4 Beta. It is not posted on the first post yet, but the link is essentially the same - change the link of 3.4.3 to read 3.4.4
Or download the latest nightly for Bravo from Cyanogenmod, extract it, and use the content of the /system/framework from it to replace whatever is there is the /system/framework on your phone using ADB. Fix Permissions and reboot.

I'm new to android ROM and just been flashing it for about a month. I've found NDT MIUI dev ROM from langthang which I like a lot.
Since I'm new to the forum, I cannot post anything in his thread so I'm here.
Please execute me if I'm posting in the wrong place but I would recommend NDT MIUI dev v29.1 for you to try out.
So come to my question, I see the SYSTEM UPDATES under Setting->System->About Phone..... When I press it, there is a fc and send report. How can I use this and don't need to clean install again when there is an update.

Don't think you can use those updates anyway. Soz, but just had to point out the typo 'please execute me...' lol. Sad thing is, some people would. Anyway, I don't think you can use the updates from that section, just use XDA. You can download files to be flashed straight from the web browser then flash them anyway, no physical connection needed.
thank for advise...

Yeah HD2 does not support stock OTAs as that is for Android phone updates, since this is not a native Android device, if you did somehow manage to initiate and OTA update it would not have correct drivers to run on your phone anyway.
Best bet, like posted, is just to download the updates from your phone or CPU and flash them as normal. Check the rom thread to see if a full wipe is required as most times it won't be necessary. Full wipes are usually for switching roms or if there is something major being changed in an update (like a new system base etc.)
thank again.... my last upgrade, i just wipe cache / wipe delvik / and flash zip file and it works so well using NDT miui. great battery life now. recommended.

Hi,
I have installed froyo a year back with help of XDA forum. Now that it has become very old and my HD2 is almost dying to run applications. Can anyone guide me to the links where I can download latest stable version of android, possibly with less bugs. I don't mind if it is gingerbird or ICS. But a Faster one.. Tired of using this damn slow froyo.
Please also point me detail steps to install it.
Thank you very much
I'll presume that you don't care whether it is MAGLDR or cLK.

Hi,
Thanks for the information.
It's been some time that I have visited XDA and lost touch with updating.
I tried to go through the link you provided and lost in between. Please help me.
I have froyo installed. I have to update to typhoon.
Now my mobile has HSPL 2.08 available. So what other files should i download now?
what software should I install in my PC? Please provide link to download.
Also, If there is some post available which has step by step procedure to UPDATE to typhoon, Please provide me.
Thanks,

Okay. I really don't know how I am supposed to reply to you.
If you got lost in that one short post, then I doubt you'll ever have your device updated.
Because that tutorial is as simple as it can ever be !
AND it also includes the links for everything you may need. (except sdext)
As per UPDATING, simply flash the newer ROM over the previous one after wiping cache and dalvik. (If not said that it requires complete wipe)
Updated to 2.3.7
Hi,
Finally, I have updated to 2.3.7 on my own. It was easy job, but I missed a small link yesterday.
There seems to smalls bugs in this. HD wallpapers doesn't work. Is there any recent update in this version??
Thanks,
Seems to work fine for me on the same ROM, try moving the app to your internal storage as widgets need to be on the internal storage, maybe the same is true for wallpaper apps?
