Hey people,
When Titanium Pro creates backup of everything, does anyone know where does it store my previous sms/email messages? I can't find them. :/
Thx.

I am using SPB Backup for full backup. If I upgrade my ROM, there is no option to selectively restore SMS or MMS and surely there is no option to restore call log.
PIM Backup works well, but it does not seem to have an icon in the Programs folder?

You can set it to auto schedule backups too
Try Microsoft Myphone. It's free. Also syncs other standard stuff, like contacts, appointments, etc. I NEVER use ActiveStink anymore.

I use SPB Backup all the time and you have various options. It does do a complete system backup/restore. Yes. you can use PIM Backup, but that only backups PIM type data. I use that, too.

[Q] Max Sms limit

Hi everyone,
first of all, sorry for my english, i'm not fluent but i'm trying my best.
I bought a GN3 n9005, and tried to transfer data from my old phone (htc one) to it. I used MyBackup Pro and Message Sync, but there was nothing to do. On my htc, i have 8304sms, and no matter what i do, it seems that the GN3 won't let me restore all of them on it.
Is there something i can do?
Please help me
Try Titanium backup
OR
SMS Backup Restore

Thanks guys for your quick answers. I've already used titanium backup pro, sms backup restore, smssync, MessageSync, Backup to Gmail. With MessageSync i output an xml from my htc, get it on my GN3, but while restoring, an error occurs when it exceeds 3000 sms (approximately). (screenshot attached to this post) With the others, in my sms box, i see 21 conversations all empty.
I think SMS backup restore won't erase existing when you restore. So try backup and restore in two pieces.

I did a factory reset so it was totally empty. Then after xml load fail, i erased all empty conversations so it was again clean, no sms, nothing.
I'm wondering if there's something in the sqlite like the "sms_outgoing_check_max_count" variable that i should set to illmited or something like that. Getting crazy with this thing!

quick question about restoring

Hey Note'ers!
I am currently on 5.1.1 TekHD custom rom. If I wanted to flash, say Beanstalk - 6.13, will I be able to restore the messages up to exactly the same place I have it now using TB? Will I get all the attachements etc.... ? I understand the setting probably cannot be restored, but that is easily reconfigurable, but does TB restore all apps WITH their respective data between different versions of ROMs? Are there any specials steps to do it?
I just want to make sure before I make that step. Thanks!
before you do anything, make a backup in TWRP.
Titanium Backup is supposed to be able to carry over messages, but this is why you should have a backup. TB is notorious for being a bit squirrely between different ROMs. i would do some research first on google before risking it. you can always revert to backup, though.

Use xml format for messages and call logs. I move between roms frequently and use tibu for user apps and messages/call logs.

messages as in texts? or messages as in email?
For texts, I use SMS backup and restore from the play store. Make sure you select to save attachments/emojis and all those things you want. It will create an xml file which you should store somewhere safe. You then use the same software to restore the messages.

Oh, I forgot about that. That is a good solution as everything else is pretty much backed up online those days. Thanks man.
