I am using SPB Backup for full backup. If I upgrade my ROM, there is no option to selectively restore SMS or MMS and surely there is no option to restore call log.

PIM Backup works well, but it does not seem to have an icon in the Programs folder?

How do I backup my M600?

As my M600 lacks xBackup, to backup to SD Card, and ActiveSync does not offer the Backup/Restore option HOW can I backup call history etc?
Is it possible to install xBackup, from my M500 (Magician)? Cannot find xBackup other than via Start/Programs/xBackup - it does not appear when using file explorer
TIA

You'll need a third party utility such as SPB Backup (www.spbsoft.com) or Sprite Backup (www.spritesoftware.com).
Thanks!

Does this backup text messages as well? I just hard reset my Jamin and lost all my text messages. I was kinda hoping they'd be backed up by active sync... Obviously not.

YES!
Backed up & then hard reset: All settings, call history & text messages were restored.
Only took about 3 minutes & the backup file was only 7.18M. The xBackup files (on my M500) were typically 45M & took 30mins+
Excellent product!

Is there a cab file for separating the sms from mms?

im using wrcx3 rom and its really good, but i cant restore my messages. ive tried pim backup, spb backup, sprite backup...still cant..
i noticed the other rom i used, tnt5 touchflo, had separated the sms from mms....and i could restore my messages on there..
i thought maybe its cuz the sms and mms were together.
anyone got any ideas?

What backup software to use before flashing ROm?

hi guys
what backup software would you recommend to use before flashing to another rom ?
I mainly want to back up :
sms
contacts
email msgs and mailboxes
if it could save settings (like for email, mms, connection settings) that would be bonus
I have SPBbackup but it just freezes ...
thanks ....

I second that.
Works wonderfull and you can even schedule a time in the day that it automaticly makes a backup for you.
Also, besides all the stuff you mentioned, you can also make backups of directories you like most (for example you wallpapers)

Yes, Sprite will work. As will SPB Backup, Resco Backup, Sashimi & PIM Backup
Hi there,
I use Sprite Backup V6.5.2, build 102 on by Blackstone. Yes, it can back-up the your contacts.
Select Custom Backup
Check the Pims box
Check Contact box
Unfold contacts
Here you can see that the contacts on Simcard and other contacts can be checked for backup.
Tab next and fill out the form...
Sprite works just file for me.
Cheers

I use SPB Backup all the time and you have various options. It does do a complete system backup/restore. Yes. you can use PIM Backup, but that only backups PIM type data. I use that, too.
