I flashed my HTC HD2 device by NODO WP7 day ago. Everythink was working perfect. But yesterday touch screen started to do unwanted think. it behaves like dicalibration of the screen. When i wanted to type the letter 'a' -> letters 'ad' displayed on the screen, when Iwanted to type letter 'b' 'd' display. And when i was moving in menus, it looked like screen is little bit 'moved' to right againts menus..
I tried to change radio, but it had still the same behavior.
When i reflashed stock ROM, it worked fine. Then i tried again to flash WP7, it worked for houres and then problem was back..
Now I have Dutty´s ROM and everythink works fine.
Anybody knows what is the reason of my troubles?
thats wierd, are yo sure your not holding the side of the screen? Mine messed up like that once and i had to send it back for repair after the touch screen stopped working entirely.
It was really hardware problem. Right now I got my HD2 back from repairer and everythink is OK.

ive upgraded my hermes with official O2 hermes rom a month ago. 2 days ago i upgraded with black satin normal edition. my phone worked 2 days normally but today touch screen has no reaction when i touch it.
firstly i wasnt panic because i tought it can be a software problem then i did hard reset. but still no reaction on my touch screen. i was starting to be panic. then i upgraded with O2 official rom again. unfortunately touch screen is still same. now my panic mode is active.
first, i mean time that i realized first about touch screen, all button was working fine, except touch screen
need some advice!!!

When you flashed the other ROMS did you bypass the screen alignment screen somehow? Or is that where it is stuck?

yes when i pushed power buttons it passes boot scren and says "tap the screen to set up your windows mobile based device" because of the screen i cant touch it. so nothing more

I had a similar problem, it turned out however to be an issue with the digitizer for the touch screen and it was simply a coincidence I was flashing roms.
I did the trick of sliding a credit card between the screen and the frame and cleared out some gunk - then it worked perfectly.
I just had the same thing happen lol.. company bought me a new one and cingular sent me a broken refurb so now they are sending another

can you give some details what have you done. did you open your ppc. because i live in turkey and i bought mt ppc form germany. so ive no garanty here. to fix it i need to send it to germany. it means at least 1,5 month. so ive to do it myself or someoneelse here
any other advice?
i just had the same problem after upgrading my new 8525 to wm6 then flashed again to shaps 3.54 then 3.60 and then back to wm6 because it had so many bugs. then screen stopped working. i took out battery/sim card for 10 minutes as well as using a receipt to clean out the screen (under the case) and worked just fine for 30 minutes. now the screen is dead again. YAY. got a 300$ piece of ****.
This morning, my touch screen suddenly stopped working. Hardware keys are still working but device is not responding when the screen is touched. Already tried a hard reset but no success, now I am stuck at the align display screen. Also can no longer get to the bootmenu, so can't reflash my device! Any suggestions on what's wrong or how this can be fixed? Thanks for any help!!!!

I had the same problem .I replaced the touch screen and the phone is working again .
No, nothing, was working fine at night, when i woke up just randomly stopped working. The display is not cracked or anything, so wondering whether a screen replacement will do the trick? ALso strange that I can no longer get to the bootscreen to enter HardSPL...
Had the same problem, the issue (with mine anyhow) was the digitizer, which is an overlay that sits on top of the actual LCD screen to give it touch capability....

I had a similar problem,
To get past the Align screen I had to apply pressure to the top of the screen opposite side of front facing camera - then use the screen as normal
I reflashed the original rom (manually getting to bootloader) - it worked for a bit but ended up sending is back to 02 for repair.
All they did apparently, was to reflash the ROM again and its been working since.
Had the same problem a couple of times a while ago, when i was trying out WM6.5.
All buttons worked but not the touch screen. Never really found out exactly what the problem was, but the first time I managed to get it working again by resetting the alignment:
While gps button pressed (under green button), press center D-pad button this will bring you to alignment screen.
The other time the "alignment trick" didn't work, but i got it working again, after flashing the original ROM couple of times. (And doing hard reset between each time)

You say you can't get to the boot menu, do you run hard-SPL?
most likely its an hardware issue - had this one too, of course out of nowhere!
flash with original rom and if you cannot align screen (as the hardware seems to be broken) send it in for repair. it will be under guarantee, if screen isnt broken.
I had similar problem, I passed the alignment but i had a huge offset in the touch.
I replaced the touch screen and it solved the problem.
You can find it in ebay for 1 US $.

Thanks for all the help guys!!! I do run hard-SPL and have flashed many ROMS - just don't know why it won't enter the bootscreen anymore when I reset the device and press the camera button. Did manage to upload original ROM again by using activesync, now trying to restore original hard-SPL so I can send off the device for repair.
Hi, i had also the same problem, i find a threat in the internet... try to push the upper corners on the device with your fingers and then tab on the screen to see if the problem solved.
I had the same issue.
Its more than likely your digitizer. I tried flashing 100 different roms but always stuck at the align screen stage.
I actually have the barely used digitizer if anyone wants it (for a few dollars of course hehe) My mainboard died a couple of weeks after i installed the digitizer.
needless to say i moved away from the ****ty build quality of HTC to the MUCH better build quality of the iPhone.
hey guys.i recently got a hd2 for my girlfriend and the screen is behaving strangely.maybe its too sensitive cos when using the keyboard fr typing sometimes it automatically types letters which i haven't pressed.and also on the home screen sometimes when i press and hold my finger on a tab it moves back and forth to the next two tabs even though im keeping my finger still.i have used hd2 tweak to make the screen less sensitive but still this happens.

im on the elagancia rom from miri and steve and before on stock and this happened on stock too

flash it back to stock everything and take it back to the shop. its a known issue with some hd2's. i just got my new one back from o2 and its performing perfectly. when you describe the problem they may say that its because its capacitive, just make sure to emphasize that keys are being registers that arent near the one you pressed. they should replace it for you. dont tell then you flashed the ROM

I had a strange issue recently with my build (below). I had a 'normal' data freeze and rebooted, but when I did, apparently a message was waiting and some appointment on my calendar was due. This seemed to really slow down WM and HaRET ran very slowly before booting Android. However, after Android booted, the touchscreen was locked and wouldn't slide out of the way. In fact, the screen darkened and shut off just as if I wasn't touching the screen at all. I did receive a phone call, which worked, but touchscreen was still unresponsive.
So I tried rebooting again. This seemed to lock up JMZ Dual Boot and not allow me to boot up Android. Moreover, it locked my touchscreen in WM! I have pocketshield installed, and after cover screen showed up, I couldn't move it away. I tried rebooting, taking the battery out for 5 minutes, etc. and no luck.
Ultimately, I resolved this by a HARD RESET of the phone. Lost my windows setup which will take some time to repair, but since I use Android most of the time, maybe it doesn't matter?
Anyway, posted this in case others are having this problem, maybe there's a theme.
editted: ok, touchscreen stopped responding again, in WM and Android, while the unit was just sitting on my desk. I'm now thinking hardware problem...
yes i have the same problem since a ~week. NO TOUCHSCREEN... i have flashed maybe 100 different roms, but no luck... even when i install the original vodafone rom with radio and downgrade to spl 1.48 it doesnt work... this must be an android issue i think.
yesterday i was in the vodafone shop and they give me an NEW HD2 ))))).
now im waiting for an solution about that problem and hope someone will fix it. untill that i will stay on WM6.x. i dont think, i will get another new HD2^^

ps: when i started the hd2 there was an picture of an WORLD MAP for ~one second. maybe this helps. i think there is something in the front of the orange screen. something with "yes" or "no" option. but i cant see it.

In early February I upgraded my Touch HD to 6.5 from 6.1 and if am right it was energy.blackstone.21891.leo_Max. It worked for about two week and and then one day I struggled to get a gps fix on my tomtom. The next day the screen just froze with no response of any touching or stylus.
Managed to put the original orange rom back on it but could not cariberate the screen due to its not responding. I sent the phone to HTC UK for repairs but they said due to my having used unauthorised software the motherboard needs to be replaced and they were asking me to pay 168 pounds so they could go ahead with the repairs. I got the HD2 on a new contract.
Still love the TOUCH HD and was wondering is there another way of breathing life into this thing. Responds well to install new roms but the screen continues to remain frozen

My HTC had broken Screen, I had it repaired.
After it came back the touchscreen worked OK. Than I flashed it with the ENERGY Blackstone ROM.
Flashing etc was OK. Device started again and came to the Point where you have to tip on the screen to do the SETUP. But that did not work. I tried Softreset. Hardreset but No change of Problem.
Send it back to the repairshop and after I recevied it again the Energy was still on it and working.
Since a new ENERGY rom was out, I flashed it again . Result, Same Error, NOT working. To make sure that the ENERGY-ROM wasn't the error, I reflashed it with the Original HTC ROM.
Also this one does not work. It also comes to the point where I need to tap to do the Setup. Nothing happes.
When I attach the Phone to PC with ACTIVESYNCH, the Synchronisation works OK.
Any Help Any Idea ??
Probably you need to replace digitizer(touch screen layer, not LCD) Look on ebay for a new one.

Damn, I have almost the same problem!
I have used Energy roms for a year, without any major problem. I have installed dec. 20. NRG rom, and today it is completely messed up my HD. No response on touching the screen or pressing any button. After a hard reset the touchscreen alignment was came up, and the touchscreen is working, but I can't align the screen, it starts over and over again... and thats all. I cant do anything else with it. I have reflashed stock rom and spl, still the same.

same with me here... I also have got an EnergyRom installed. For more then one day now I get no response from the touchscreen. Everything else seems to work properly, e.g. the popups which remind me appointments are there.

I installed energy sense last week, phone worked fine for 4 days then i came to use it and it didnt respond to the touch screen, however tapping the screen would bring back on the backlight?
I hard resetted it and also flashed a new ROM on, still the same, I found that it was responding but taking up to 5 mins to respond, i.e if you tap the first calibration point, after about 3 minutes the point moves, however calibration never completes.
I think the phone is scrap.

Yeah, this is digitizer problem.
