You couldn't use Samsung Apps from pc anyway, because of Google's policy, so it was useless.

i jus connected mine after the latest kies update.. its working fine.
try installing the phone drivers again manually
Kies toolbar -> TOOLS -> Install driver

Or just install the drivers without your phone plugged in...
Just try everything and keep getting "impossible to iniate service at the phone"

I think it's global release. I installed it just now, reinstalled the drivers after updating without connecting the phone and everything worked smooth. Synced my phone from the first try without even rebooting the pc.
Kies is a crap
I also think that it is global. Anyway I'm really starting to think, that Kies in just a piece of crap.
1)Update to new version offered, but after starting the installation for 4th time, I've decided to download it manually.
2)Have the same trouble as some guys here, cannot connect to the phone (solved by restart, but WTF? This is 2011 and I don't like restarts anymore)
3)When the phone is connected and lock-screen on, Kies won't connect
4)When connected, I cannot use the phone (with HTC you can)
5) Still no BT sync available, why?
I have SGS II for few weeks and the phone really rocks, but dev team of Kies should get some slap in the face to wake up....
What do you think guys?

In Lithuania we got all JPM via Kies
Reg entries depend on your local Kies configuration, so there is no universal .reg file to import for everyone.
Create your own reg, remember to change DeviceDB\##YOURDEVICENUMBER## (in my case it's 8)

I guess, JPM was rebild to be available on KIES...
I installed the JPM when it released in samfirmware, and it changed my product code to KOR...
Please let em know the kies JPM also changes the product code to KOR ?

I've got a generic Galaxy S i9000 16gb and I can't see this update, surely if I can't see it, no one should be able to see it. How is it you managed to get this update? Did you use a registry fix?

No changes made, zeroundead. Just a plain standard, SGS GT-i9000 without branding. I'm suspecting it might just be released for scandinavia at the moment, but we'll see soon if some others pop in with news

you all wanna rush to the server to get update?
Worked fine to update through Kies here, but after install Market was gone. Trying a factory reset now, to see if that clears the problem.
Hopefully some lag will go away aswell, since everything will be install on a clean 2.2 install. also eager to test the GPS to see if those problems are gone, since the phone is useless when it comes to navigation and geocaching...
EDIT: After factory reset Android Market is back again.
z4root doesn't work anymore. I can't use SuperOneClick because Kies won't even recognize my Tab since it's a US version.
My question is: Are there any other ways I can root? Would manually applying the RageAgainstTheCage exploit work? Is there any other method to get me rooted?
This is driving me nuts not being able to do anything with my Tab!

Yah z4 only gave me what im gonna call a half root lol
Superoneclick didn't work cuz keis didnt want to sync so that was a no go.
Try and find one called visionary. Now it wasnt made for our tabs but it applies the rageinthecage exploit so it will work.
It will take a couple of tries and reboots to get it to stick. Im rooted and loving what i can do now.
P.S. - download root checker off market for an easy way to find out if your rooted properly. As always our advice is just that advice... use at own risk

Kies does NOT have to connect to your Tab. I have the same model (T-Mobile) and SuperOneClick worked just fine. You just need to install Kies so the Samsung drivers are installed on your PC. Just run it after you've installed Kies, and connected your Tab to the PC via USB once. Good to go after that.

yeah, as long as you dont get a "failed to install drivers" message when plugging in your galaxy tab, superoneclick should work fine. it has for me twice.
got like you problme to root after upgrading the fw! and the only way working for me, is the manual way. look at this post!

I did Superoneclick then ran Z4root afterwards and that rooted my tab.
I got it to work! I used SuperOneClick like I tried before, but it worked this time! I think it's because I first un-installed then re-installed Kies and went from there. It didn't install the first set of drivers last time, but worked this time. I think it's because my computer installed them a different way the first time I tried, who knows.

Probably just XXALE9.
Can't believe how long this is taking. Firmware has only flashed up to 40%. Started this process at 3.10pm but took a while to download firmware first.
This is taking the biscuit. Phone rebooted and it still had same firmware!! So I have connected back to Kies and it is downloading firmware again. This is a bloody joke.

Yeah but as below, what is it saying the two revisions actually are? If they're the same then you just flashed the original over again. If that's the case then the upgrade trigger is the problem.

No it is not.
I hate kies so I copied samsung usb drivers.exe from programme files and removed kies. Now whenever I reinstall windows, I install only drivers not kies ****.

After ICS and an upgrade to KIES I can no longer connect the two, the only way it shows up in Win7 is as PTP. And even if it shows up in Win7 it doesn't connect with KIES. The stupid Troubleshooter will not run either.
Now that i had reinstalled everything I thought it might be a smart move to make a backup. All I backed up was my frustrations.

Cf Auto root doesn't change recovery. To get cwm search for cwm e.g. Philz recovery and download tar version for your device. Then flash it with odin same way you did for Cf Auto root.

I have been installing various ROM's on my S3 but now want return everything back to how it was. I have used triangle away and odin to restore the firmware I had from a while back however it does not have any of the Three UK branding or apps.
Does anyone have the files I need to restore the S3 with UK three branding and that will software update officially.

Think my one is a old 3 stock ROM before jellybean just found stock 3 jellybean on other drive let me know I'll put it in dropbox
Just used the file from Sam's mobile. I used 4.0.4 because I wanted to test software update. Now have the three branding and three app but it says no software update is available. Is this correct? Should I be able to update?
