Ok guys I think I have figured out why the Samsung Vibrant has been getting no support in terms of updates from anyone including samfirmware.com! If you think about it all other Galaxy S phones and the Galaxy S 4G (Or Vibrant 4G) has had lots of leaks and even ETA's for updates except our Vibrant. Why? Simple. T-Mobile is doing what they tried to do for Froyo! There going to bring updates and bugfixes to the Vibrant 4G first alongside the other Galaxy S devices and use it as another justification to purchase that phone, then a couple months later or perhaps not at all the OG Vibrant might get some bug fixes and a Gingerbread update!
Please reply what you guys think on either this post or your theory on why the last leak we got was KB5 back in Feburary.

I don't know but i read something today that said google stepped in and now is sending updates to all phones on ATT which means folks who had older phones will get upgraded as well.. here is the article - http://socialbarrel.com/google-delivers-android-2-3-gingerbread-to-att-devices/11881/
I hope they do the same for T-mobile and help customers like us with samsung (vibrant and behold ) users alike..

Why isn't there "No more Samsung/ T-mobile" this time for the gingerbread?
i wish one of the dev can port the vibrant 4g 2.3 or 2.4 Rom to the vibrant i have been using the vibrant 4g with 2.3 and it is not bad at all it work real good better than most of the 2.3 or 2.4 Rom out there.

No, 2.1 to 2.2 optimized snapdragon cpus. Hummingbird got hardly any jump. Gb fixed that.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
+1 to hummingbird optimization.
TW4/4.5 also runs smoother on GB than Froyo (4/4.5 is a HUGE plus over the stock TW)
Some apps also required 2.3 (such as Netflix before they updated it to allow froyo)
CRT
probably more than I can't think off my head right now
edit: heres a pretty good comprehensive list and description
http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-2.3-highlights.html
we will reap the full benefits once we get an official 2.3 release (accompanied with source) so our talented devs optimize 2.3 for us.

I was tired of my vibrants jumpy inconsistent gps so got myself a Galaxy S 4G and installed the latest KG4 GB. The stock GB runs smoother than Cynogenmod for vibrant.
GB may be a minor upgrade but its a major upgrade for us due to hummingbird optimizations. Also the battery life is MUCH better on GB.
TouchWiz speed only matters for those who choose to use it
I use GO Launcher EX and love it.
Free, fast, beautiful, and more features than TW.

Sweet... from vibrant to mytouch4g to nexus s to galaxy 2. If its really got a dual core Sammy processor then we are talking Orion? If this baby comes out by summer then that best buy buy back insurance is going to be pretty nice!
I love my sns on cyanogen but really miss all the great codecs etc. Team whiskey really made the vibrant special. I hate touchwhiz but ifs easier to remove most of the bad with that and keep all the good with guys like team whiskey and supercurio than it is to try to hack all of it back in. You get a permenant rfs fix and get rid of the overlay and everything's flying high! The sns seems to have a better screen than my vibrant did in all areas save for the gorilla glass. Can't even imagine a samoled without pentile, its going to be amazing! Wonder how that Orion's going to card against qualcomm and Tegra2... gpu will definitely be nice at the very least. Qualcomm will probably always own the linpack scores but a phone is so much better than that. Lets hope by then gingerbread gets hardware enabled browsing...

The Nexus S supports ICS so our Vibrants should run it just fine. A Nexus S is basically the same hardware as a Galaxy S with NFC support. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be getting any official ICS from Samsung. We have yet to even see Gingerbread, although Tmobile also has a say in it. I've already decided to either get the Samsung Hercules or Nexus Prime to replace my age old Vibrant. I'm leaning towards the Nexus Prime simply for first-served updates directly from Google.
Looking at the leak that could have just been edited GB, I mean any of the devs here could have made that.

I could really care less about Ice Cream Sandwhich for the Vibrant. Update is released in December, we wait at least 6 or so months for CM8 to be stable, the new update may pose new problems upon the existing ones, and by then the phone is 2 years old already. Touchwiz already offers GPU-acceleration in its launcher and browser, and for the most part, the current Honeycomb GPU acceleration is still lacking compared to that of iOS or WP7 (app drawer, screen rotation, and homescreen animation still lags a little). Not really expecting much of ICS.

Yes, it is going to make Android the same across all Nexus branded platforms. Touchwiz, Sense, and Blur are not going anywhere and the manufacturers still have to modify ICS for each individual device. The Galaxy S is done for official support, period. Samsung is not making any more money from the original Galaxy S compared to the SII; most owners of the original have or will already have switched devices so Samsung has no true need to update the international version. Google's 18 month update suggestion was what it was, a suggestion, and by the time December comes, the Galaxy S is about 18 months old anyways.

T-Mobile doesn't want to cut into upgrades. Since the Vibrant 4G is out and is the current model, the original Vibrant is deprecated. It is pretty obvious, as no other carrier has been denied a Gingerbread version for the Galaxy S except for T-Mobile.

The 4G isn't much of an upgrade for current Vibrant owners imo. I don't see why we couldn't get the software it's not like it would give us a FFC or 4g(maybe). I guess for those of us smart enough to root and flash that we survive with better roms anyway. We probably should have seen this coming. I mean the only way possible to get froyo was to update via kies which hopefully won't brick your phone.

I think that's just a software limitation and it could be fixed by modifying the kernel settings.
For example, when I had my HD2 with stock Windows Mobile 6.5, the maximum recording resolution I managed to get was ~ 640x480 .
with hacked Android 2.3 installed (Ported from the Desire) it jumped to 800x600!.
with hacked Windows Phone 7 (Ported from the HD7) it jumped to 1280×720!!!.
