All,
I have a Sprint 7" tab that has gingerbread installed (update from sprint) and is rooted correctly thanks to all of the great info from XDA!
I have Spacemooses CDMA HC build on my SD card but can't install it. Here is what I have done so far:
- installed ROM Manager v4.3.2.4
- installed CWM v2.5.1.2
- when I try to reboot into recovery to flash I get the Android System recovery screen....not the CWM screen (is that a sprint thing?)
- I still try the "apply update from SD card" option and select the space moose zip file....I get the error "signature verification failed"
- when I try the "install ROM option" within CWM, the same Android System recovery screen comes up with same result
All ideas and input welcome....been working this for days
you have lost your clockworkmod recovery when you got the update from sprint. you need to find the thread to how to reflash the clockworkmod recovery first. I think what change was the kernel used on the update. I don't remember the thread for the recovery.

Hi
I have recently had my HTC Wildfire rooted after the fantastic AlpharevX contribution.
I've played around with different ROMs, and since I experienced problems with GPS in CM 7.1 RC1, I decided to go for a Radio update.
I have CWM recovery 3.2.0.0, which according to this general Wildfire thread is not compatible with flashing the current radio versions.
I therefore downloaded the Radio zip-file, copied it to my SD root dir and started ROM Manager and selected update ROM from SD card.
I checked "Backup current ROM" and "Wipe Dalvik cache" and pressed OK to the different dialog boxes.
It then rebooted to a black screen with the little green Android and a warning sign with an exclamation mark in it.
It has just stayed there for more than 10 minutes now.
I read somewhere that flashing radio can be riscy, and also that one must have patience and not interrupt anything. Therefore I haven't dared touching it without seeking advice...
What should I do? Am I supposed to press anything to continue, or should I try to turn it off (either using power button or by battery removal)?
Kind regards, Martin
UPDATE: I lost patience and decided to click on the different buttons. By clicking the power button, it displayed that I had entered CWM Recovery 3.2.0.0 and the log states:
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E: failed to seek in /cache/update.zip (Invalid argument)
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
I have just rebooted for now... Is it somehow possible to have two different CWM Recovery versions installed, such that I can boot directly into 3.2.0.0 and maybe enter 2.5.x.x. from ROM Manager?
you must flash clockworkmod recovery in rom manager then click run in recovery mode (second option) in rom manager then phone will reboot and got temporary CWM 2.5.0.7 and you can flash radio in this version

Thanks a lot...
I just updated the radio.
Now I also now how to flash Froyo custom ROMS. CWM 3.2 only allowed me to flash Gingerbread ROMs.
moderator pls close thread problem solved
Hi since we are at it, I also have a question about radios...
My Bluetooth used to work just fine on my htc stock ROM before switching to CM 7.0.3, I could both send and receive files from my mac.... well the thing is I can only receive them now, I can't get my wildfire to send anything to my mac! (already tried the app from the market, I think it's called Bluetooth File Transfer)
Anyway do you think a radio upgrade or in my case downgrade could fix this? I currently have 13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10.
Im trying to install custom rom.I installed Iconiaroot then installed Acer recovery from market and im able to reboot into clockwork recovery but when i try to install zip from sdcard it says e: cant mount sdcard..any help please...
Format your sd to FAT32 via the pc.
Insert sd card in Iconia (with power off)
Tab should recognize the sd.
Copy your zip to sd, and boot to recovery and select the zip
Ensure you select "install zip from sd"
Hey guys ...sorry for this but how do you boot to recovery?

I'll be nice to the n00bs today
AFTER you Root and use the AcerRecovery tool to install Thor's recovery, there are 2 common methods.
1. With the tablet off, press and hold both Vol - and the power button for a few seconds, until you see the text start to display in the upper left corner of the display. Then release both. It will finish booting to the recovery menu. Navigation is used by the vol rocker. Selection is the Pwr.
2. Download and install a ROM utility app that has the option to boot to recovery through the OS. This saves a little time as you don't have to power off manually.
However you need to have root enabled and if you're on HC 3.2+ then you REALLY need to read up on how to root your tab.
This is what the search bar is for in the top right corner.....
just rooted the unstable 3.1 and installed cwm 5.0 now im in recovery but i cant mount sd. I tryed formatting it, diddnt work. HELP
I'm a little late to the party...
My tab is rooted and i'm running tabooney 1.1 with thor's 1.3 recovery. i'm trying to install a new rom, but the recovery keeps saying "e: can't mount /sdcard"
i have a newly formatted (fat32) sdcard which i can see/browse with root file explorer.
edit: i installed the AcerRecovery tool from the market, flashed a newer version of the recovery, booted into recovery but i still cannot mount the sdcard.
what am i missing here?
i did some more homework/research and found a solution. it definitely wasn't a problem with the recovery since my micro-sdcard from my old htc thunderbolt worked just fine.
i formatted the card using the formatting utility found at sdcard.org (i found out about it somewhere on xda forums).
so after formatting my sdcard with this utility, i threw it back into my iconia a500 and voila! i was able to mount it from recovery (thor's 1.3.4 cwm).
shock2sys: You are the man!!! Thnx a LOT!! Worked for me
PLEASE USE THE CWM UPDATE BY KOUSH ONLY.. ALSO, PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT CWM VERSION 5.5.0.4 has been reported to have some freeze issues, contact Koush and forward a logcat or provide information so he can resolve. Until then, use an earlier version until all the bugs are gone..... thank you--- oka1 moderator
Today I noticed That Koush Has released CWM 5.5.04 for Our device. So simply You can Download Rom manager from Market and then just install the CWM.
AllCredits go to KOUSH.
Here IS the .img file.
http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-tf101.img
Installed fine. Reboot to recovery still doesn't work for me. Still works fine when using the app from the market though. Thanks for the heads up.
Reboot to recovery messed up my tab, so it would only boot into recovery (booting to Android was done manually).
works either manually or via market app reboot to recovery, via ClockworkMod restart the system, is not in recovery
"reboot system now" does not work, reboot into recovery again.
Same to me on my tab. Don't install it yet.
Unable to install either through rom manager
or
Terminal method
Rom manger says it installed it but when I reboot to revocery (via another app)
it's still the old one
Terminal emulator says image not found no matter where I store it or what directory I point to
Seems like I'm missing something.
The linked .img file is a blob file with the SOS partition. It can be flashed through the staging partition. If you extract it or strip out the header, it will be a regular .img file that can be flashed through cwm (with a little work).
I haven't flashed it yet.
Same here, unable to boot android again (recovery loop), is there any way to flash the old one from adb?
Thanks
bug
since i have instal it i can't go out of the recovery when i do restart and it reboot in recovery again
go out by pressing power button + volume down , wait a moment and you can select recovery or boot android os
If you go into advanced there's no option to return.
Wasn't there a bug about installing recovery with Rom Manager that causes constant boots into recovery?
let me look...
EDIT: This may or may not apply, but ...

Official, yes, see here the 5.5.0.4 for tf101, the .img and .zip:
http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/
I should have read more of this thread before flashing. Because now mine does what everyone else is doing. Goes back into the recovery in a loop..
If You have problems return to the older:

=================
mine flashed fine from rom manager pro on Eos-tf101-5 All menu's seem to work fine, but there is no external SD access only internal. Still can't access recovery from rom manager but that's the same standard issue with the rom.
it support tf101g or not ?
Cant flash a new recovery either.
Tried reflashing rogue and still boot loops into cwm.
Downloaded current cwm from web link above and flashed. Still boot loops into recovery.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
I would love to go back to the older one...But my Tab doesnt show the sdcard at all. Only internal memory...weird
Flashing the IMG via NVFLASH broke recovery for me. Installing it through ROM Managers works fine.
Hey guys,
I am really going crazy with my A500 and I really need help!
I tried to Update my Taboonay to the newest Flexreaper Edition. In the desciption it said that I need to have one of that custom recoverys to use Aroma installer. Because I had CWM with Thor 1.3.4 and 1.7.3 is neccessary I wanted to Update CWM via installing the zip from SD Card. Before installing the zip I accedientially deleted the update.zip from the SD Card. Tried to restart CWM than but it didn't work out and I could not enter CWM. I was stuck on booting recovery kernel image, waited about a minute and than the screen turned dark. Since that point the tablet doesn't start anymore and the tablet does not enter CWM.. What can I do to fix it?
I summarize:
- can't enter CWM
- cant boot the ROM
- deleted update.zip
Thank you in advance

I would guess, you are still running an HC bootloader? You must update your tab to the V8 unlocked bootloader from Skrilax_cz.

I'm new to the Moto Droid world coming from Samsung, and trying to learn about it. I've googled and read a lot about all of the topics below, and I'm looking to learn more. Here are some observations/issues that I'd appreciate any insight on - It would also be helpful to know if these are known, open/unresolved issues:
My device is rooted and unlocked, running sys. ver. 183.46.10.xt907.Verizon.en.US, build KDA20.62.10.1. (I think that's stock Verizon). I have CWM ver. 6.0.4.8 installed. When I try a nandroid backup to my external sd card (/storage/sdcard1), boot-image, recovery image, and system complete normally. When it tries to backup data, I get the error "Can't mount /data!". When I look at my external SD card, I see 4 non-empty files (boot.img, recovery.img, system.ext4.tar.a, system.ext4.tar.b) and 1 empty file (system.ext4.tar). Is there anything I can do to get CWM to backup data also? Do I need to resort to backing up with ADB to get everything?
When I reboot from CWM, I get "rom may flash stock recovery on boot - can't be undone" with "no" or "yes - disable recovery flash" as my choices. I think either choice keeps my CWM recovery. I then get "root access possibly lost - fix? with "no" or "yes fix root (/system/xbin/su)". If I select "yes fix root (/system/xbin/su)", it keeps root, and if I select "no", it loses root. Shall I consider these as minor annoyances that I shall forever live with?
I've tried to flash TWRP, and the only version that I've been able to boot up is the latest one, version 2.8.1.0. The problem is that the font is too big, or our screen size is too small for that version. Is there a version of TWRP that works on our device? I tried ver 2.5, and it doesn't boot.
To flash, I boot the phone into AP Fastboot and use mfastboot on my Windows PC.. Flashing seems to work, but I always get the "<bootloader> variable not supported" message at the start. Is this anything to worry about or indicating some other problem?
Thanks in advance for any and all responses.
