made me laugh pretty hard. ty, ty much.

I have the A500 and had a G2 during a same time period. As was stated before, the G2's screen was significantly smaller. Almost 6.5" smaller. The resolution on the G2 was less the the Iconia also.
Now for a serious answer. The display on my Iconia is bright and responsive. Images are clear and crisp. The G2 also has a nice SLCD on it. They are both nice screens, but I am very impressed with the Iconia's display.
If you can clarify the information that you are looking for, I would be happy to go more into detail.

Well obviously I'm looking for a quality comparison How does the Iconia compare in terms of colors, sharpness, etc.

I have both and overall the G2 appears crisper and brighter. This is most likely mostly due to having a higher number of pixels per inch. However I still love the a500 display.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App

The G2 screen is excellent. Vivid color, shall images, etc.
Still with the 10.1" screen on the Iconia, I couldn't be happier. Very easy to see, clear, good detail, and on and on.
Is very hard to compare a tablet and phone. I look for different things from each of them.

Display? ATRIX OR INSPIRE?

So which has a better display for mobile gaming wise?
Sent from my Optimus 2X using xda premium
Inpsire, no contest. It's a little on the oversaturated side, but the Atrix uses the abysmal pentile sub-pixel layout so it's fuzzy and has a green bias.
Inspire has better colors.
Atrix has a higher resolution.
Choose based on your preference.

Not entirely true. The Atrix has 1,036,800 sub-pixels, the Inspire has 1,152,000. So although the Atrix is advertised as having a higher resolution it actually has fewer sub-pixels.
Atrix hands down.
I just know my friends infuse for games look 100x clearer so was just wondering for inspire as well.
Sent from my Optimus 2X using xda premium
Also be aware there is an issue with the Atrix touch panel, after ~10 seconds of contact that area of the touchscreen will stop responding and you will have to lift your finger and touch again. It doesn't matter for many applications, but games like Galaxy on Fire or emulators with virtual thumbsticks are a bit of a pain to play.
I think the biggest problem with the Atrix screen resolution is a good amount of games don't show properly due to the resolution difference. I have a handful of games that run with blackbars and don't form properly.
So games will look better on inspire though correct? ?

After owning both for 3 months each, I'm going to say inspire hands down. Don't pay any attention to the Atrix fanboys that troll these boards. They can get a little heated defending their "precious" device.

Agreed. If you own the Atrix long enough you get used to the screen, but in a head to head comparison with Super AMOLED+ there is no competition. Another plus is that the touch panel and the display are the same piece of glass on the Inspire so there isn't the same air-gap you get with the Atrix.
I think some of you are confusing the HTC INSPIRE with the SAMSUNG INFUSE
2 different screens here!

The inspire is not a superamoled + display it is a s-lcd.
atrix screen is nothing to gloat about.
i think we all bought this phone because of it being a beast inside. the screen is good enough where it doesnt take away from its awesomeness too much.
so yeah -- inspire wins screen comparison.
but id take dualcore, 1gb ram, qHD over s-lcd/saomled any day.
Yeah theres massive confusion on this thread, the Inspire looks like ass next to an Atrix. The Infuse looks like GOD next to nearly everything else. Yes I've owned all 3. The Inspire has a lower resolution on a larger screen, mine looks fuzzy to me after using my Atrix for just a few days. However my Inspire running CM7 or MIUI pretty much runs right with my Atrix running Alien with the 1.1Ghz OC. Only gaming issue I've had with the Atrix are that some games (Order and Chaos Online) aren't available on the market for it.

Your eyes adjust to the ATRIX display after a week or so, switching from an i4 sucked so bad at first.
I ended up trading my atrix for a red inspire brand new love it game support is so much better and graphics as well..

holding both phones side by side the inspire does have a better look to it.. my atrix seems to display yellow oddly.. not a big issue but its odd.. the atrix is much crisper but with the extra landscape the inspire has and its running ADRevolution 5.2.4 with sense 3.0 apps its not a contest the inspire is a phone i shouldn't have given to her .. my two cents

LOL! Since when does Inspire have a SAMOLED+ display?
Why do I keep seeing the same thing on here... the atrix is made for power and performance, not for having the best 4" screen you can look at. I mean honestly, its a 4" screen! Look how clear my screen is when I hold it inches from my face lol I plug my HDMI cable into a 55" Samsung 3d tv when I am worried about graphics and color rendering. We have devs working on landscape too. I prefer beast mode with lightning response time over my amazing 4" screen.

link is already posted and probably should re-read the review
Phonearena said:
After our latest screen comparison, we concluded that the One X has the best phone display at this time, sporting very high levels of brightness, as well as saturated colors, with natural temperature. So, how does the PenTile-based HD Super AMOLED of the Galaxy S III compare to all that? Well, due to its AMOLED nature, the GS III's display is superior when it comes to color saturation and contrast. This screen can easily look spectacular and eye-catching – that's what it's best at. However, it is significantly colder than the One X. And thanks to its colors being saturated enough in order to guarantee an enjoyable picture, we'd consider the screen of the One X to be superior in terms of image quality.
As you know, both handsets sport HD resolution screens, so they both look incredibly crisp and clear. You might be wondering if the PenTile pixel arrangement of the Galaxy S III doesn't make it look a bit more pixelized. Well, there is a difference, but it is so small, that it can be easily neglected. In 99% of the time using the GS III, the effects of the PenTile matrix will not be noticed.

It says the color saturation and contrast is better with the AMOLED and SLCD2 is sharper

Trying to start another war huh? Nice try. User above me got to it first though.
Conclusion:
Well, folks, it should have become clear by now that the Galaxy S III will once again rule the land of Android, at least until a better contender arrives on the scene. For now, however, the powerful HTC One X isn't capable enough to question its leadership. Although HTC's offering is arguably better when it comes to appearance and overall design, the Galaxy S III is unbeatable as far as user experience goes and that's what's more important. Why would you need a good-looking phone that takes mediocre images and video, and as a number of nasty issues in its software? Meanwhile, the Galaxy S III may not be the most beautiful phone ever, but it does everything right in terms of functionality, meaning it will cause you far less trouble during day-to-day usage.
Once again, HTC's finest will have to play second-best to the Galaxy S phone of the year.

HD AMOLED = sharp images + nice contrast + nice colors
so choose yourself. And other fellow members, please dont start yet another "which is good?" war.

heard similar feedback from many here
I don't see why this matters so much, I've seen the Note and One X in person and both have amazing screens, I cannot even tell that the Note is a Pentile screen or the One X is LCD. I mean at this point whocares? Are your eyes really good enough that you're going to notice the difference in normal usage or do you just want one to be better than the other for bragging rights?
It isn't like the major difference of 3GS to iPhone 4, both screens look pretty much the same to me and that was on the Note, so surely the GS3 has a better display than the Note.

The bets course of action is to go to a Sony store and see how it works for you.

Moving from DNA to G2! QUESTIONS

Hello, I've been using the droid dna and experiencing bad screen quality issues with dead and stick pixels, and horrid backlighting. After the Sense 5 update I've resented the DNA more than ever. I'm hopefully getting a Verizon LG G2 in white, but it's a decent bit more than I'm selling this phone for, and wondering a few things.
1. Is the battery life better than the DNA?
2. Is the quality of the screen better in terms of perfect pixels and backlighting? I'm OCD about this.
3. Is it brighter than the DNA?
4. Are the back buttons easy to adjust to?
Thanks!

Battery - 2,020 mAh in the DNA vs. 3,000 mAh in G2.. G2 wins. Battery life for me has been great.
Screen - Probably comparable, but not too sure. I like the HD/IPS display on the G2, a lot.
Back buttons - At first, I honestly didn't like the idea. Now that I have the phone, they don't bother me.
Hopefully my little bit of info will help. Compare specs between the 2. I'm sure others will give their opinions as well. I don't think you'd regret getting the G2.
Yes to all. I still have my DNA. It hasn't left my dresser drawer since the day i bought the G2, and i haven't missed it one bit.

I like the UI, the snapdragon 800, and especially the screen. I've played with it a bit, I just wasn't sure if there were issues like the DNA. I got an LG G Pad 8.3, but the issues were horrid so it was returned ASAP. The biggest worry is dead/stuck pixels for me honestly.

My review of the One, about 1 year on

Hey there chaps. I've done a little review after using the phone for almost a full year now and wanted to share it. Love the phone, it's been a breath of fresh air owning it this year. Let's hope the M8 carries on the awesomeness!

Hey thanks. Yeh it's been a brilliant phone. I really hope the new one is good but atm it looks like HTC have done a bit of a Samsung and just done a (questionably) mildly better new device. Sad about the 5" screen though. Lower resolution then the M7 is the rumours are true.

1080p on a 5" screen = lower ppi which is lower level of resolution IMO. Less is less. And though it is all 'apparently' above what the human eye can tell the difference between, I don't know why HTC have chosen what in my eyes is a downgrade with the new device. Unless it ends up being just rumours after all.

Dont think the new one will do that well compared to other devices it's going to have to offer something really unique and iam not really felling it with pictures and rumours. But iam sure it will be a great device and a good upgrade but not sure about it being a huge hit hope iam wrong though.

By writing this, it is apparent you don't know what resolution is.
Ppi and resolution are not the same thing...
It is the same resolution, not lower level of resolution.
Electrical engineer here btw
Also it is such a minute difference that it will not be noticeable.
Higher at 5 inches (4K for example) is just overkill
Ok guys ok, let's not let this thread become a pissing contest please, it started out as a positive thread and quickly escalated to "who knows more", which isn't productive and to be honest kinda immature for no real reason...
The resolutions are the same, screen is slightly bigger in New one which will lower the ppi a tiny bit which will probably be undetectable to the naked eye in the real world...only difference if there is any, will be the vividness of the colors since the pixels will be ever so slightly further apart...

Exactly....
I think 1080p is the upper limit on a phone. The bump to 2k or 4K is just going to cause unnecessary battery drain and is more of a "whose e peen is bigger" thing than a useful addition.
More battery drain, more taxing on the processor...
I could see on a tablet, but not on a phone 6 inches or smaller.
I still love my One. Nothing has yet to match it in terms of build quality and design. It's no wonder it won the Smartphone of the year award at MWC:
http://www.globalmobileawards.com/winners-2014/#cat_id22
and I agree with your all points especially the point you made regarding the Highlights Themes being removed :crying:. I have even contemplated reverting back to Sense 5.0 to get them back.
A year on, this phone is still blazing. Although...I made a switch to GPE (sinless) which honestly flies faster and has better battery. I don't really miss Zoe or any of the sense apps. The hardware is enough for me to love HTC.

I wasn't intending on this becoming a pis#ing match and I did state that it was only my opinion. I know the technical description of resolution however to me it includes the clarity of an image and that is down to the PPI. Of course a 5" and a 50" screen can have the same resolution and you would chose which ever one suited your needs the best but the 5" display will always show the image better than the 50".
If you look at the defenition of resolution you'll find that is actually means "the degree of detail visible in a photographic or television image" this is what equates to something being "a high-resolution monitor". Hence I have formed my opinion based on this.
Electrical Mechanical Design Engineer here btw
And, still to me there's no need for HTC to have upped the screen size to 5". Nothing wrong with the 4.7" on the One. It is an epic phone and the high PPI was a good selling point. I know the're probably just trying to compete with the S5 etc but to me the screen size should have been left alone.
Let's not forget that even 1080P is an overkill on our little 4.7 inch screens, my tv is 46 inches big with the same resolution as my phone! This is nuts! Why don't they take it down to 720P and gain a massive battery life boost
