now we have cracked bootloader in our single touch xperia x8 so can some one point me directly which files are the touch screen driver in the legends kernel because our phones have the same exact digitizer !
so thinking maybe if i replace the touch screen driver in our kernel with the touch screen driver files of the legends kernel maybe we get to taste the legend's multitouch on our phones , thanks

hey tcfanboy, thanks for the poll, u've got a point here but: u see all this work that the ppc wizes are doing is voluntary and asking them for stuff that they already know abt its not the best idea(my opinion). I'm sure they're doing their best to provide all of us with good roms and various improvements but they're not receiving any help from the company that was supposed to do all this work: HTC !
Anyway, HTC announced that they will release some sort of update in this month or next one for the devices with Q7xxx chips that will provide some sort of fix for the current issues but they didn't specify what exactly will the update do. And its not surprising considering they don't even admit they've got a problem with the video acceleration
I'm definitely looking forward to see your list of requests integrated in a rom and I'm sure sooner or later it will happen. Thanks to every1 working on any improvements!
according to an o2 germany insider at ppc-welt.info, there can not be software driver update, since this is software code on core-level, wich cant be solved by flashing a rom

there will be an update that fixes something that htc is not willing to tell in advance but it optimizes grafik performance
the hardware acceleration cant be activated afterwards, according to the o2 guy

i might be able to contribue with a ultra lite rom. i know i said i would release a new project rom but i want to mess more with a lite rom so will release a full and lite rom tommorow. if u all dont mind me removing almost everything like camera etc.. i can definatly get something really lite made.

acceleration can be turned on and off at any time. acceleration is nothing more than making dlls that turn on the acceleration and use it. manilla aka touchflo 3D is a example of acceleration in use. if u look at the dependencies of manilla then you will know the dlls needed for acceleration.
Manila runs on a quite different device though
The actual hardware could be disabled in the Polaris-generation through some sort of burning certain areas on the chip (some guy wrote about it in here a couple months ago) to physically destroy certain features. But giving effort to find out if that is the case by disassembling other ROMs is surely not the wrong thing to do! I guess I'll wait for some sort of fix or buy an Xperia if that one happens to arrive first

hey Pawel, if u'll integrate in your rom all the fixes and current improvements that vivi, pdaviet and udK have in their roms, it doesn't matter how lite the rom will be because we can always install on it the applications we want.

I don't know much abt wm platform but working in IT gives me a bit of a tech background and I'm learning fast, please correct me if I'm wrong but I think this video acceleration problem on Polaris is not easily achievable even with the dlls from Diamond because they are built for VGA and TC is using QVGA Right?

This is correct. But then again a driver is a driver and the resolution shouldnt play a role. nVidia drivers work for 1920x1200 as well as they do for some 1024x768 output... It could be different though for fixed resolution devices like our mobile devices are. We'll see, we'll see, or we might switch the hardware manufacturer...

u all asked for more than a full rom so i am making it. whats the problem in that. so i missed the deadline by one day. we all do.
I'm running WM6.1 on my shaddow thanks to ~MY HTC,~ but I love the Daimond interface and I'm hoping I can find it out there somewhere.
i would so donate to one of our talented developers to make/port this over to the shadow... hope someone decides to do it.

I'll try doing it, but I'm almost completely assured that there is no way that will work. Touchscreen phones have something called the Today Screen instead of the Home Screen on the non-touchscreen phones. The two for the most part aren't compatible. It's the same reason why the Sliding Panels haven't been ported to wm6.1 touchscreen phones. You can look up the difference on Microsoft's Windows Mobile site.
I don't think its possible because I read somewhere in a interview the htc diamond has some actual gpu accelerated code in the touchflow 3d home screen so it can't be ported to any earlier version of htc touchscreen phones (aka htc touch) let alone a slow non-touchscreen phone.

I like YOTA and i myself use the dialer and the contacts. What i wanna know is does anyone know if the max 4g's ROM can be used on the HD?
I mean its basicly the same phone right? and if someone could get a ROM then surely it could be modified to run on the HD? i.e putting whats makes the HD into the ROM and keeping everything else that i personally think is better (whole theme and layout and so on) onto the HD?
Ive been reading about getting the xperia camera working on the HD and other transfer stuff.
Plus people got YOTA contacts working in the first place so surely its possible?

Yes it is possible. Other devices such as the Raphael have used this ROM as a base build. I have not seen one made for the HD yet. The problem with the ROMs from Yota is that they are all in Russian.

From what I have read a varaion of the HTC 4G Max will be going to Teltra in Australia. If that happens, I'm pretty sure we will have a WWE version.

i have a little problem about gesture module
first i have Xgins v3
i installed the module and it's not working
here's what i did
1. copy/paste x8gesture.ko to system/lib/modules
2. added the command to hw_config.sh in system/etc
3. installed multitouch visualizer 2
and it works only one finger
should i change something in settings or anything else ? i saw the videos on youtube and they had no problem i did the same thing as they did so what's wrong ?

EDIT : i even installed froyobread v006 and it's not working in there, multitouch visualizer 2 only show me one finger

First, one of the things that is not written here, in all these post, should be a warning: the Fake Dual - Touch or pinch-to-zoom, or any name used is not working on any Cypress cip device. please check Doixanh thread and follow the steps in order to check FIRST OF ALL if you have this or not.
In such case, miracles cannot be done for now, because all ROM's have Doixanh based module ....I am one of the unlucky ones as well.

I think they change the hardware for low costs...
If you´re using XGin 4.0, i would say it was the ROM, because the DT works flawlessly on my X8 in Racht ROMs and XGin 2.0 and 3.0, but in 4.0 it has serious problems...
Industry sources, X8 has 4 finger touch,so far,there is only 2 touch.why?
Just wait, I think somebody will someday create real 4-finger touch for Cypress, those who have Synaptics will never get more than fake dualtouch.

We, the "unlucky" ones with Synaptics, have all the chanches to get real DT. Why? Because the digitizer suports real DT (just check datasheets), it's only a problem of firmware/drivers.

I don't think so,cause the bottleneck of synaptics can't handle real DT is not support hardware,not just firmware or drivers.

Nope it supports dual touch in a way as it is a clearpad 2000 as stated by the official synpatics technical support agent.....

It's officialy stated that the Clearpad 2000 suports DT via hardware. The problem is that on some digitizers, it's locked via the firmware. That's why I said is a problem of firmware. The possible solution here is to rewrite the firmware, but I guess a development board is needed for that. Without some official sources by Synaptics about firmware, I can't precisly state how to play with firmwares.
I think 2 finger touch enough, but 4 will be nice

We are extremely thankful but it is always good to push yourself and push your liimits if i could code properly i would definitely try it just to challenge myself
