[Q] Battery Calibration Stuck at 98% - Eee Pad Transformer General

Hi guys,
I wasn't sure if this would be better here or in the apps section. I apologize if it needs to be moved.
Yesterday morning I rooted my TF and installed Prime 1.5. I had read that it was good to calibrate the battery after flashing a new ROM so I installed Battery Calibration from the market. This morning when I took it off the charger the battery was stuck at 98%. I had not actually run Battery Calibration, I had just installed it and opened it to look around.
Also, this was the first time that I charged it since rooting so I'm not sure if it being stuck at 98% is related to the app or to the flashing of Prime.
Has anyone ever seen this before? If so, does anyone have any suggestions for a fix? If I reflash or do a factory reset could that possibly remedy the problem?
Thanks in advance!

Drain the battery till it turns off the fully charge it.

Either that or you've struck gold by finding a battery that never discharges past 98%

I had the same problem just after flashing the 8.4.4.5 stock, wipping battery stats in the recovery(ClockWorkMod) solved it =)

Thanks for the quick replies!
Does it matter at what point in the battery cycle that I do this? In other words, does it need to be fully charged, fully drained, etc.?

Hehe, sadly it's not stuck in that direction. It drains just fine but won't go higher than 98%.

I wouldn't worry about it. Charging to 100% is bad for the battery anyway.

battery, battery and less battery.

Uptime: 2hours 27minutes and x amount of seconds and dead.
did I break the record for stress testing it?
Anyways, anyone got any tips on battery life? I was thinking of getting 3000mah or 3500mah, but the design of it (bulky) just doesn't seem the right option in my mind.
Also anyone here actually have the 3000mah or 3500mah so they can chime in on the design + battery life compared to the original?
just powered the phone back up. and it says battery is at 50%. wtf.
It turned off on its own cause of low battery, and now it says 50%?
E-gad the ghost recharge strikes again.
I had the same thing happen this morning. Woke up to a dead phone, plugged in, boot ed and battery showed around 70%... Go figure

Battery may not be calibrated correctly. I have to say my only major disappointment with the EVO is how the battery life is so tied to the particular rom I'm using. I mean I expect different drain rates on different roms, but having to recalibrate the battery every time I switch roms is just plain dumb.

Juice defender did not do it for me either. I got 1.58 but too many things were turned off to get there. What is the purpose of a smart phone if everything has to be turned off to save battery.

It used to work for me, but now it is doing the same thing. Im at 1.76 now but for the past week it was stuck on 1.00, then slowly went up with each flash.
just a quick update. The reason the battery showed empty one minute and then it showed 50% the next was because of the heat. The phone was very hot when I was playing with it, and then when it cooled down it seemed to have fixed itself or w/e. Happened again today.
im sure its been answered..but how do we calibrate the battery?
Pretty sure you can erase the battery stats through clockwork recovery. Also there is a way through ADB which is pretty easy too
Sorry I don't have any links atm.

[Q] the battery could not charge fully

currently, my Atrix always could not charge battery fully even using electric outlet. is there anybody know how to fix it.
You could try calibrating it.
Charge the phone until it no longer charges. Leaving it plugged in, shut the phone off, then pull the battery. Wait for it to boot up and display a ? and battery symbol. Then place the battery back in. It should read 5%. Leave it for a few seconds, then boot the phone. Should now read 100%.
definitely trying that later today, thanks.

This, but I would add, that when you reboot, go to recovery first and wipe battery stats.
Mine has the same problem. Never charges past 60%. Calibrating, wiping battery stats several times does not fix it. I plan to buy a new battery to see if that solves it but I am not optimistic. Search for the thread named "atrix not charging past 88%", no fix for me yet and several others.
re install rom and full wipe
Don't forget to flash the juggernaut battery fix too

Same issue here, the percentage isn't always the same though. One morning it will be 94, 96 the next, and 90 the next. Always at 4207mv at those points. Tried wiping batterystats full, empty, etc.

I thought this was already part of most roms out now?
Juggernauts fix helps the battery jumping issue, but not the battery not charging to 100%, at least not for me. The problem started after flashing official 4.5.91 and it has continued after I flashed to CM7. I am now used to removing the battery and putting it back in place while charging for it to read 100%, but it is annoying no one has found a cause or solution.
It really works
thanks

Let us know if it is fixed after a full battery cycle. Mine goes back to its old behaviour after one or two cycles.

Ok, this has to be glitch....

How is this possible? Last night my Nexus 7 shut down at 14%, right after the battery warning.
Fully charged afterwards and not touched for 12 hours. This has to be a glitch.
Anyone know if it's possible to reset the battery stats?

Google employees have gone on record to say that this doesn't actually do anything. Just power cycle a few times and see if it comes back.

Read the thread again. He is asking how to fix his BUGGED stats, not what is the latest trend in illusionary battery tweaks.

ok no need to calibrate the battery stats in this case. Just reboot and the problem should be gone.
Note: you will see the stats will reset on the next charge.
Thanks for the replies.
It seems like Fotogravin's method did the trick. Though the initial boot required me to hold on to the power button a bit longer than usual.
On another maybe related note, has anyone found that the Nexus 7 sometimes charges slowly? I left it on charge from around 17% and after 5 hours or so, it only charged to around 70%.
It's not the first time it's happened either...

I'm experiencing this exact series of problems currently. No amount of reboots will help. It decides at around 15-20% that it's actually dead and powers down. Now I'm sitting here in TWRP recovery, full brightness, and it's been running for 10 mins now without problem. Talk about dead battery....NOT!
I'm going to let this recovery menu run til it ACTUALLY dies, then charge it from 0% and hope that it will actually run down correctly.

[Q] Miscalibrated battery, need help!

I need some suggestions on how to calibrate the battery on my n4. It got miscalibrated when I did the update 4.2 to 4.3 and I haven't been able to calibrate it since then, a week ago.
I tried using battery calibration from the store but it didn't work, I tried charging the phone from 0 to 100 and it didn't work.
I remember I had the same problem 2 years ago with my Atrix and I solved it by wiping the battery stats from recovery, but now twrp and Cwm removed this feature and I don't know how to solve my problem.
Maybe it would help flashing all back to stock with the toolkit?
If you have any suggestions I'd really appreciate it.

Just the answer I didn't expected, and frankly a pretty useless answer, everybody knows that battery calibration doesn't improve battery life.
But I have other problems, like I turn off my device at 80% and when I turn it on it's at 77%. Do you think that's normal?

Either faulty battery or do the following:
1.Completley discharge N4
2.Charge fully(+2 hours after hitting 100&) WITHOUT disconnecting from the charger.
3.Repeat for better results.

You mean off as in all the way off? If so, then that ~3% is being used when the phone boots.

I've had many phones, and none of them lost charge during the boot, at least not that many. I think that's the clear sign of battery miscalibration, I've had this problem before with another phone. Besides that, I've had a strange behaviour of the battery, for example I saw it lose 4% in 1 second, from 66 to 62 in a blink of an eye.

It's not that it's losing charge quickly, it's just the OS (or the hardware itself) doesn't always do the best job of reading it. There's not much you can do about that, and it's really not an issue unless you make it so by staring at your battery level all day.

Hi,
I'm having a similar issue. Phone rebooting to weird battery levels (not the %age it shutdown at).
Phone shutting down at 31% battery and rebooting to 0%.
I tried charging only to 100% yesterday with the phone ON.
Do I have to charge it even after it's charged to 100%?

I tried charging through the night and then discharging it completely and charging it completely again. I also tried deleting the batterystats file (even though I know it doesn't do anything)
So what do you suggest I should do? Get the phone replaced or get the battery changed?
I live in India and the phone is from Canada, so replacing the phone will take some time but I can get the battery replaced for around $20
Also my nexus is also showing +ve mA values while it's not charging, and the values are absolutely crazy, +268, +168, +1171 (in batter monitor widget)
Please tell me what I should do.

Before you replace the battery try to disconnect the battery's flex cable and reconnect it [after you charge to device to 100% and turn it off of course] check if its 'reset' the battery.

[Q] Galaxy S4 Battery (I-9500) drains out quickly while playing Candy Crush

Hi,
I saw many folks are facing similar problems, but my problem is little different. Now a days whenever I play Candy Crush my S4's battery drains out very quickly i.e. 60-70% in the span of 5 - 10 minutes, also it gets charged up with equally fast (about 80 % in 10 min). My phone is just 3 months old...earlier there was no such problem. I haven't installed any new apps in between. Is it the problem with the battery or with the handset?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks

But charging too fast Im saying it could problem with the battery it self

It's because from what I remember, battery callibration is not regulated at rom level. It's a chip inside the battery.
For example:
With the old HTC Desire you could wipe battery stats in the recovery.
For the Samsung Galaxy S2 this didn't have any effect because the chip inside the battery regulated the calibration.
From what I remember it's the same for the S4. If the calibration does not work (eg charging to 100%, taking the battery out, putting it back in, recharge again till 100%) then his battery is faulty. So unless he messed his rom up seriously, no wipe or other rom will help. His OS just reads the data from the chip.
