currently, my Atrix always could not charge battery fully even using electric outlet. is there anybody know how to fix it.
You could try calibrating it.
Charge the phone until it no longer charges. Leaving it plugged in, shut the phone off, then pull the battery. Wait for it to boot up and display a ? and battery symbol. Then place the battery back in. It should read 5%. Leave it for a few seconds, then boot the phone. Should now read 100%.

This, but I would add, that when you reboot, go to recovery first and wipe battery stats.
Mine has the same problem. Never charges past 60%. Calibrating, wiping battery stats several times does not fix it. I plan to buy a new battery to see if that solves it but I am not optimistic. Search for the thread named "atrix not charging past 88%", no fix for me yet and several others.

Same issue here, the percentage isn't always the same though. One morning it will be 94, 96 the next, and 90 the next. Always at 4207mv at those points. Tried wiping batterystats full, empty, etc.

I thought this was already part of most roms out now?
Juggernauts fix helps the battery jumping issue, but not the battery not charging to 100%, at least not for me. The problem started after flashing official 4.5.91 and it has continued after I flashed to CM7. I am now used to removing the battery and putting it back in place while charging for it to read 100%, but it is annoying no one has found a cause or solution.

now ive been using KP's GB 2.3.4 beta 4 ROM for awhile and it works well, except for the battery reporting issue. now ive used the fix posted by jug6ernut but the battery jumping issue still isnt fixed. my phone will report a full charge at 100%, then immediately go to 99% when unplugged. then it will drain to lets say 78%. i can reboot and it will pop back up to 94%. some people say its working for them, some say it wont. ive done a full proper battery calibration using CWM Recovery and using the Battery Calibration app.
i would love to post in the dev thread below, but cannot yet. has anyone else had any success with the battery reporting issue or definitive fixes??
also, how often will the phone report my battery data as incorrect? if i charge to 100% then immediately reboot, reporting will now be correct from then forth until plugged in and charged to 100 again? im under the impression as long as i reboot after unplugged, the battery drain reporting will be correct.

I don't think its as simple as that, I think a few cycles are required.
I wiped the stats and flashed the fix, been sitting at 1% battery listening to mp3s for half an hour ON ONE PERCENT lol.
well i flashed the fix days ago and it still isnt fixed after many charge/discharge cylces....not full 100-0% cycles, but normal use ones.

I have found a fix and I have posted it in the General Section.
i was told that reflashing jug's batt fix over Alien will fix it; but the download in jug's battery fix thread seems corrupted or something

I just flashed SyNthetic_aospX 1.0.0-BR7 on my HTC Glacier and started observing a little weird behavior with it. It died of battery, but when I restarted it, the phone showed 10% battery remaining.
I switched off and put it on charging, after 1.5 Hr, the charging indicator was still yellow but I switched on the phone and boom, it showed 100% charging and the led turned green. To double check I switched off the phone and plugged in, it was still showing yellow led. After around 45 mins, the battery was fully charged in off mode.
Is this some behavior known to anyone? Or it is time for my battery (my phone is still with original battery and it's almost 2 years).
Any help is highly appreciated ...
Well, first off, did you flash at 100% battery?
Second, is your battery swollen at all? It probably is after 2 years. I had to replace mine after a little over a year.
I can tell you that, even on CM7, I leave my charger off while in recovery because it might say 50%, but as soon as I reboot it might say 70%. A magical 20% increase in 45 seconds. Still, your battery behavior is off. If you decide to replace it, check out Anker.
Don't forget to flash another ROM to compare battery behavior.

Thanks estallings15, I initially flashed at < 100% but then realized my mistake so did a full wipe and then charged it to 100% (when powered off). And then flashed it again.
Seems my battery is little swollen, can't say though, I would give it a shot to replace it.
I tried another ROM but did not use it for full battery cycle, as I just love this ICS

For me, Anker is at least as good as OEM if not better, as well as cheaper. Answer your question?

I know, but this ROM is so awesome to leave ... But its good to know that I'm not alone
I need some suggestions on how to calibrate the battery on my n4. It got miscalibrated when I did the update 4.2 to 4.3 and I haven't been able to calibrate it since then, a week ago.
I tried using battery calibration from the store but it didn't work, I tried charging the phone from 0 to 100 and it didn't work.
I remember I had the same problem 2 years ago with my Atrix and I solved it by wiping the battery stats from recovery, but now twrp and Cwm removed this feature and I don't know how to solve my problem.
Maybe it would help flashing all back to stock with the toolkit?
If you have any suggestions I'd really appreciate it.

Just the answer I didn't expected, and frankly a pretty useless answer, everybody knows that battery calibration doesn't improve battery life.
But I have other problems, like I turn off my device at 80% and when I turn it on it's at 77%. Do you think that's normal?

Either faulty battery or do the following:
1.Completley discharge N4
2.Charge fully(+2 hours after hitting 100&) WITHOUT disconnecting from the charger.
3.Repeat for better results.

To be honest, I don't know.
But if I would be you I would just let it charge while it's off(So the big ass white battery icon).
Let me know if you got your battery sorted after the method I posted!

You mean off as in all the way off? If so, then that ~3% is being used when the phone boots.

I've had many phones, and none of them lost charge during the boot, at least not that many. I think that's the clear sign of battery miscalibration, I've had this problem before with another phone. Besides that, I've had a strange behaviour of the battery, for example I saw it lose 4% in 1 second, from 66 to 62 in a blink of an eye.

It's not that it's losing charge quickly, it's just the OS (or the hardware itself) doesn't always do the best job of reading it. There's not much you can do about that, and it's really not an issue unless you make it so by staring at your battery level all day.

I'm having a similar issue. Phone rebooting to weird battery levels (not the %age it shutdown at).
Phone shutting down at 31% battery and rebooting to 0%.
I tried charging only to 100% yesterday with the phone ON.
Do I have to charge it even after it's charged to 100%?

I live in India and the phone is from Canada, so replacing the phone will take some time but I can get the battery replaced for around $20
Also my nexus is also showing +ve mA values while it's not charging, and the values are absolutely crazy, +268, +168, +1171 (in batter monitor widget)
Please tell me what I should do.

Before you replace the battery try to disconnect the battery's flex cable and reconnect it [after you charge to device to 100% and turn it off of course] check if its 'reset' the battery.

Apparently wiping battery stats doesn't do anything at all, it only wipes the actual history of battery usage, the same you see when you go to the menu and click the battery.
The whole subject is really a lot of speculation that as there doesn't seem to be a definite answer to calibrating the battery.
What seems to work for me and what seems to be advised more often is to fully discharge the phone, by normal usage then leaving it charging through the night, repeat the process the next day. When doing this process don't charge it in the middle of battery, you must wait until it dies.

@Mottz is right. Wiping that file only removes the history of what app used how many percent of the battery. This has been confirmed by a Google engineer.

So what do you suggest I should do? Get the phone replaced or get the battery changed?

This does nothing for a lithium battery.
Except maybe kill it faster.

Hi all!
I've some strange problems with mt nexus 4 battery values.
Today i had 59% of battery and i plug it to the original charger. After 2 hours i saw the battery with 100% charge value. OK. Nothing wrong here. I rebooted the phone and after that i had 84% of battery.
This is happening almost every time i charge my nexus 4.
I had stock rom with franco.kernel updater. Now i have paranoid Android with The same kernel.
Any idea about this?

Have you been dirty flashing a lot?
your battery reading needs to be recalibrated.... Charge full than use until it shuts down...than charge again fully, at 100% reboot phone & connect to charge again.....
You also can try "BatteryRepair.apk" from market..most of the time it helps to recalibrate..just install, open & follow on screen instruction....

I had the same issue with my previous nexus 4. Did you ever get your screen/display changed? Or do you charge your phone overnight? Do you rely on USB charging a lot? If any of those answers is YES, its probable that your battery has gone bad (as mine had)

I had changed my display and i charge over night.
I've tried the calibration 2 days in a row (battery at 0%, then charge till 100%, reboot, charge till 100% again). Yesterday i had 90% after the reboot. Today i got 91% after the reboot.

I'm gonna try that app. I rebooted the phone around 9am and now is almost finishing the charge. The battery lasts till tomorrow with my normal use of the phone, but i tough strange that every time i rebooted the phone, i lose battery % :s
Just try avoiding the charge to 100%->reboot->charge to 100% again for a few days.
Don't let it discharge till 0%, connect the charge when you have 1%-4% left and let it charge till 100% with the phone on, and then use your phone normally.

Please go through this thread. A couple of other members (myself included) finally deduced that if you ever have your display changed you NEED to get your battery changed as well. Trust me on this, get your battery checked once. It WILL be bloated. Also, if upon restarting there is a break in the battery graph and there is a significant drop/rise in battery level, that is another indicator that your battery is going.

I've been reading that thread but for example, what happens to me it's nothing compared to the first topic of that thread. I only miss sometimes 10% after restart, sometimes 5%, sometimes nothing. From what i understand, in that thread most of users with battery problem had like 80% and after reboot they only had 2%, or 0%. Thats different i think, but i'm not expert on this subject

Try Battery Monitor Widget from the Market - you can see what current the phone is pulling, and if indeed full charge is reached. There are also calibration tools inside - the app calculates the real capacity of the battery, for example. If it's a long way from 2100mAh it would be a sign you need a new battery.
Though like everyone else, I think it´s a software problem. With previous Android phones I had to be careful calibrating, flashing etc. With the N4 I've had no such issues in the year I've had it. That app can help you sort out battery calibration though.

This looks normal, although if you see a break in the battery graph and huge drop/rise in battery then its definitely done for. However its not the case with your phone, so relax
Well this evening i left the phone with 60% of battery and at 7am the battery was death. Just ordered a new one. I've only one problem. I dont have any plastic screw to open it. I've the torx t5 screw only.
Any advise to the new battery?
