[Q] GPS not recognize the location - Wildfire General

Hi all Wildire-ians,
I'm using stock ROM and Map v.4.5.0
This whole week I have a problem with GPS: the map doesn't recognize where I am as before, HTC sense weather either.
All I have try, turn off (remove battery), reset map, manage app->clear data, still not work.
Any body advise please!
Thank you in advanced.

Hopefully in location settings you have ticked GPS and wifi on?

Yes thank you, it's working now. Actually, last time, I also ticked 'Use GPS satellites', it's working fine but now need to tick both.
Anyways, thank you.

GPS not working

At first gps worked fine with tomtom and g.maps.
The problem started when the gps signal became losted and recovered every second or so. On and Off continuosly.
Other days worked everything right. And now It seems that there is no gps at all.
Tomtom alert: "no gps device" and g.maps dont get any satelite
So, Is this a hardware problem?
Could you help?
Thanks
It sounds like the Assisted GPS problem, make sure its switched off.
Settings->System->AGPS Settings
Uncheck the box and save the settings
Steve
I dont have this option
About gps, I have only "External GPS" at "settings"
Another way to swicht it off?
you can use the Advanced Config Tool or Tweak HD
Steve
I get this too, so will see if turning off AGPS helps.
Another way I found is tha if I run Google Maps, wait for that to get a lock, anything else taht uses GPS then works fine.
I tried HD Tweak, and switched A-gps off (option 18.5)
But nothing changes
There is no gps available for gmaps and tomtom
Any other ideas?
Thanks
Problem solved, I was really , so:
Backup & Hard reset, ... or better, fry it with a new ROM, now I have this one:
Dutty's HTC HD (BlackStone) ROM V2 XTREME
You can find it, of course, in this same great forum
It seems to be much better than original, faster, more complete...
gps and everything working fine...
I recommend it

How do I get the gps to work on the htc ozone (on vzw)? I have location set to on in the phone settings, but google maps will only get me within 1500m (using tower info or sthing), and Garmin XT Mobile wont work at all.
Any help is appreciated
did u update ur quick gps?
ive been able to get a steady lock within 50m three in the last 2 min. ( fastest ever ive seen on a htc device before BTW )
I just redownloaded it to see if anything would change. Nothing.
are u sure u have an active data connection?
and did u go thru ur googlemaps options to be sure that it can auto update/lock?
nevermind... I just read the whole thread..

In Google Maps, make sure that in Menu>Options>(2)GPS Settings you have the "Managed by Windows" radio button selected. Then in regular maps hit Menu>0 (or just "0" on a clear map.) It might take a few seconds to spool up some satellite connections.
Without the "Managed by Windows" selection mine has no clue where I am. Also try to use "Quick GPS" within the start menu to help with satellite location information.
I can't remember if I had to change that setting when I first installed or not. I just remember that it's there. On my Ozone GPS seems to work excellently in all programs. Bing and GCZII(geocaching) are the others that access my GPS.
Hope that helps!

Geotagging not working

Hi all..
Iam unable to geotag with my omnia 2..
When i select gps in camera settings, it just says "receving gps signal" and then nothing..
Has any one been able to geotag.. Or is there any settings i need to change..
Photo Gps
It took close to 60 seconds before the recieving gps signal loaded after this the window closes..This is what happened to me...
Hope this helps
On my it just says "receving gps signal" and nothing.. waited for around 2-3mins...
i am not on 3G connection.. does that matter.
Make sure under:MY Menu / Settings / General Settings / GPS / Connection: Scroll down and make sure the button for Manage GPS Automatically is on. Some programs will not use the gps unless this is activated..
Hope this may Help..
Bronson
Manage GPS Automatically is on.. and also my Garmin works fine..
Have you flashed your unit with a new Rom here or changed your default Gps settings in order to get your Garmin to work?
Some have stated that using certain memory cleaners have wiped certain files needed for some functions.
I got caught the first week of downloading and using pocket mechanic and lost sound files for most apps...Only recourse was to Hardboot and try again.
Hopefully this is not your issue but thought i would but it on the table..

My geotagging works fine it is obviously a gps issue so try THIS
I got the same problem. I'm still using the same Samsung ROM that comes with my B7610. I turn on GPS from the camera submenu. However, I keep on getting the error "Fail to Receiving GPS Signal".

This worked great for me, better than both the original fixes. Thanks for the heads up.
I was actually going to post the Auto Config tip on the original GPS fix thread. This fix works best for me. It's still flaky sometimes but it's much better than stock or the first fix.
I left in my initial settings from the first fix, and supplemented it with the auto setting from this fix. And though I leave use wireless networks disabled, I get an exact lock in about 5 seconds now!
now if only we could fix the compass...

NP guys
I was just playing with the settings and found that this worked great so I made a vid.
I also turned on MS Assisted so I can get a lock indoors
So this doesn't require you to have wireless networks turned on?
this one works great...
I actually never really had a problem with gps in the first place but usually it only finds 7 satellites and this fix instantly found me 11...

You do not have to
can someone put it in text instead of video?

1. Disable "Use Wireless Network" under Settings > Location and Security
2. Dial *#*#1472365#*#*
3. Go to SUPL/CP Settings
4. Change Custom Config to Auto Config
5. Restart phone
6. Reenable "Use Wireless Network"
Thanks, any mention of Accuracy (50 or 100) or Operation mode?
just tried those settings on my vibrant (exchanged my 1st one - this one just arrived today) and GPS was crap before the settings, and worse after the setting changes
just tried the settings and mine is even worse.
just joking, just joking OP, thanks for the tip. finally, after the first gps fix that was put out, this locked me on in my exact location, not 3 blocks away, from the start.
No change when using GPStest. But was not expecting it to.

On mine if I use Maps and Nav it works fine but if I try and use Google Buzz and then maps it does not work until I reboot.
I just stop using buzz and it work fine now, not great but fine. it's accurate to about 3 feet for me if I have it in standalone mode, if I enable MS assist it accurate to about 15 feet.

I did try heygrl's config settings. The results were pretty decent but not perfect driving, not good walking. See results and my analysis here.
I had pretty good success with this fix too. Not perfect either, but good enough for me.
