I can't seem to get my cingular 8125 to get the correct time when I choose the time zone. It is an hour behind when I select central time and when I change it manually it sets itself back an hour a day or two later. It use to work fine when I was still on the east cost. Is there anyway I can set the time permantly? It is really annoying since I use it as my alarm clock. Thanks
For different areas, change the time zone and not the time.

also check to see if you have selected summer time too!!
Sounds like maybe you have a 2.24 ROM? (kinda hard to tel!) If so, remove the checkmark from Network Time in the Phone settings.
yeah I have the 2.24a rom and I can't find the network time checkbox in the phone options. Also I did change the time zone, time zone is an hour off
Anybody? is there a quick fix or do I have to flash to another rom? Thanks.

I've been meaning to ask this question as well. I just haven't gotten around to it. I'll be watching for an answer.
do u use a spare battery? cuz i do
bump
please help.
it never used to do this.
i used to change my batteries all the time, and it never screws up the time. but now it is. whats going on?
answer..
maybe this is the problem.. go to settings --> in personal: click on phone... go to the time zone tab and make sure the automatic change time zone and clock tab is not check.. that should work hopefully
Maybe you got a problem with your internal battery..when you search more in this forum, there are testimonials about that specially when you remove the battery out of you device then put it back on.. and that also happens to me..my solution?never remove the battery
But sometimes, there are instances that this occurs when you sync your phone to PC thru ActiveSync and you got the "Sync PC time to Phone" option enabled AND you have different Regional Settings on your device and on your PC, you need to uncheck that option at ActiveSync..please check.

i can not find this option. thanks in advance
heres some more info, the date always changes back to Feb 6 2006.
Since I bought my HD a couple of weeks ago each time I sync it with my PC the time goes back an hour. I'm in GMT, so I'm guessing it's to do with daylight saving time, but there's no option to change it.
For now I've just disabled autoupdate, but obviously it would be better if it would update, and even with this the time stamp on texts I recieve are an hour behind.
Only thing I've thought of is changing to GMT+1, haven't tried this yet for some reason, guess I'll do that now
Anyone had this problem/know how to fix it? Cheers
I had a similar problem. After deactivation of the time synch in the phone settings it was solved.

As I said I've done that, but the time stamps on texts are still an hour behind, and obviously it would be better if it actually would update rather then having to scrub round it.

Yes, set to GMT Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London. Kind of assumed there should be a DST setting on the phone, take it it's not meant to be there?

I had the same problem, I went to France the past 2 days and every now and then the time on my phone changed, even when the option to auto sync time is set to false. I Live in Belgium so France is still the same GMT +1.
Try upgrading to the newest stock ROM. I saw you still run 1.07.x, but there is already a version 1.36.x.
It's not the ROM. Mine has been doing it ever since we went to daylight saving in the UK. Jumping forward an hour every day or so.
tryied to upgrade but i got the error 294 invalid vender
anyway i opened a case with HTC
but i thing my problem is due to daylight saving
but not so sure because at the same time i was in Greece wich is also diferent time zone

Does anyone know if a hard reset fixes the problem?
Maybe, but also check the values of:
HKLM\\Software\Microsoft\Clock\HomeDST
and
HKLM\\Software\Microsoft\Clock\NetworkTimeSync

Is that the same as enabling/disabling the automatic time in the phone options?
BTW what value should be in those entries? Thanks
Try to set both of them to "0", soft reset, set the correct time and time zone through settings and check if the problem still exists.
Doesn't work. As soon as I activate the automatic time, it increases 1 hour
The automatic hour must be deactivated.

This is the process to de-activate auto time update.
Go to:
Settings> Menu> All Settings> Personal> Phone> (search for) GSM/UMTS Services> Time Synchronization (second last option in list)> get settings. Un-check "automatic change time zone..."> Done
now the time will not update automatically.
That's in post #6.

I knew that, that's how I solved it long time ago, but what I'm trying to do is to make the automatic time work again, since I find it quite useful
Useful of what?
When traveling for example. Thanks for the tip anyway
i followed the instructions from NitroNitrous old thread where you disable the updates.
(very well hidden settings).
Settings/Menu/All Settings\Personal\Phone\GSM/UMTS Services and then scroll down and you'll see "Time Synchronization". Tap there and then "Get Settings".
thanks NitroNitrous
I have aslo an open case with HTC as soon i will get update i willl pass over
One other guess is that the provider has incorect setting. could be that the case ?

I thought about that, since it happened when they changed the time for the daylight saving thing, but it's hard to believe that many providers in different parts of the world have made the same mistake
nah! it's clearly a bug, something like network is sending the correct hour but the phone is applying by always adding daylight time saving again...

That's why there are two choices for time zone, under "Clock & Alarms".
Since my s7 edge was updated to android nougat, the time zone is wrong.
I'm in Argentina with Telecom Personal operator, I've already called them but they don't seem to understand.
When my phone is restarted I get three hours ahead of my time zone (Buenos Aires is -3 GTM). If I make a call, the hour will automatically correct itself, but I don't want to be forced to call someone everyone I wanna restart my phone only to have the right time, its nonsense!
I'm fixing it by setting the time manually but it's not the ideal. I really can't believe this issue!
Any ideas?

My girlfriend's S7 edge had the same issue. Finally figured it out, hopefully this helps you. Go to settings -> date and time -> select time zone, then make sure it is set to your time zone. For some reason when hers updated the other day it changed the time zone.

Yes I did that, but does it stays the same when restarting? On automatic?
Because the issue is when you restart on automatic. For me it changes to 0 GTM all over again
I suggest you take a look at your csc. When updating to nougat, the csc maybe using the wrong operator and it is over riding your sim card which shows and connects to the correct time zone.

Yes, after setting the time zone, setting back to auto and rebooting it stays the correct time.
