Just noticed that my cursor has disappeared! Searching database turned up few threads but apparently there's a keyboard command that disabled the mouse when docked? The fourth function button doesn't return the pointer. The left/right click buttons function but the pointer itself is MIA.
Any clues?
Updated: Reflashed Prime 1.6/Netformer 1.5 and all is well.
Thanks for the clue, my cursor had gone walkies for about 24hrs. Little did I realise there was a button...
As a note, the USB mouse bought back the cursor, even though the trackpad one was disabled.
I've had a similar issue, however:
1. The trackpad works if I boot up the tablet WITH the dock plugged in.
2. If I plug and unplug it a few times it randomly starts working. I'm trying to figure out a correlation.
3. When the trackpad isn't working, the left and right click also do not work. I have checked this in google maps and spammed clicking.
4. I have pressed the mouse enable/disable button
5. A normal USB mouse still works.
6. I am running one of the rootable B70's but I am NOT rooted
7. I am running the latest firmware updated about a week ago.
8. I purchased this about a week ago and I had only noticed the problem today.
9. Kudos to the registration video, and I can assure you all my mummy has said I'm special. (And I've searched, etc. If someone has something else I should have searched for, I'll be grateful to find out)
Thanks in advance.
I'm either hoping someone knows a reliable way that I can get this working, or that some part of what I wrote is useful to someone else.

I have an 8125 Wizard with WM6 RC5.
The phone was working fine until about a week ago.
Now the smart keys do not work but randomly start working after I press the key on the left above the volume control...as if it activates them. The messaging and internet keys never work anymore.
On the keyboard. it works sometimes and sometimes it doesnt. When it does not all the keys work...a few letters do not respond.
When the phone screen is activated by pressing power button when phone is on "hibernating mode" the today screen opens...then after about 1 second the software configered to the Email softkey opens and then closes.
Can anyone help...I have reset the device using clear storage...would I need to Hard reset, will that help. I had battery status installed and it also overclocked to 247....could that be a reason. I have now removed battery status. PLS HELP

Two things:
First, remember this is a bulletin board. Sometimes it takes time for people to get around to reading your post. Sometimes, 50 people will read your post before someone will bother to answer, and even then, the answer may not be a solution to your particular problem.
Second, as you saw on the other threads, I recommend opening and cleaning your button contacts. People are constantly surprised by the need for this, but if you have anything resembling an active life, you probably need to do this about once every six months.
My SGS arrived in hand yesterday, and works as a charm.
Kies does not :-(
Problem is that when Kies starts it locks up my keyboard and mess up mouse clicks. It seems that the 'alt gr' or 'ctrl' buttons get stuck in some way. The only thing that works on my keyboard is the "€" sign which get typed if I press the 'e' key (should usually require the 'alt gr' simultaneously. Right clicking does not work, and left click seems to hold down like if the 'shift' is pressed. The scrollwheel does zoom as if the 'ctrl' is permanently down too. USB connection and sync works OK.
Only remedy is to shut down the PC
I am the only one which has experienced this? Any ideas what could be wrong?
Ive tried all the 'normal' procedures ( rebooting, uninstalling and reinstalling etc.) Even tried to figure out if there was processes og services causing this and killing them without luck.
I'm running Kies on a Dell D830 laptop, 8GB ram, Win7 professional.
Any help appreciated
Erlend.
Hello my fellow vibrant-lovers,
Just realized today that search button has stopped working,
I clearly recall that it worked before, as to when it stopped working, I have no idea. Since you can long press the left button to bring up search, it's probably not a big deal as far as practicality is concerned (I use the left button for search a lot of times anyways), but I was just wondering if anyone else has the same problem and whether there is a fix somewhere.
Could it be that some software or setting is involved??
I do have about 85 softwares installed, has a whole lot of widgets (they're amazingly convenient and are truly changing the way I use my cellphone).
Any help is deeply appreciated.
anyone have this problem> when i first got the dock the mouse appeared but recently it has gone away. it might have something to do with the dock update i got recently but i cant remember if it was at the exact same time.the keyboard still works tho. also the two finger scrolling doesnt work either anymore
also another problem while im here.. when im on the asus registration thing i put in my serial number located at the bottom of my tablet but it says incorrect serial number (yes i tried changing Os to Qs and fixed any clerical errors)
thanks!
sorry just figured it out.. theres a button that disables the mouse lol..
but the warranty issue still stands. any thoughts?
I'm terribly sorry if this question has been asked over and over again, but I tried to search but couldn't find a similar case. I called even ASUS's customer service and they were unable to help.
Anyway, after updating to 3.1 firmware, it seems that my touchpad has stopped working when using the dock.
- All buttons on the keyboard work perfectly
- Touchpad doesn't do anything, there is even no cursor on the screen
- I have tried factory reset and the touchpad is turned on (via fourth function button from the left)
- I tried plugging in a USB wireless mouse receiver and that works perfectly
Has anyone had the same issue and have you find a solution?
Does the dock icon appear on the bottom right?
May work if you let the battery drain but for others of us that had the issue we had to return them. Including me there are 3 people at work with one and two of us had to return for this issue. Someone else posted they knew a Fry's that had to replace the floor model 3 times. Its a very common problem and 90% of the time no fix. It appears software so eventually there may be a fix.
OK, thanks for the info. I'll try draining the battery out.
Sucks to hear that it might be unfixable because I bought the device from a different country I live in so returning it is a hassle.
However, given that the keys of the keyboard work and so does a USB mouse, I might settle with the device for a while and wait if it is fixed in the possible 3.2. update.
(Malandro: yes, the dock icon appears in the lower right corner and works otherwise perfectly OK, only the touchpad/mouse thingy is unresponsive)
Just for good measures you didn't hit the disable/enable touchpad hot key on the dock did you? Sometimes things might be simple. K.I.S.S (keep it simple stupid) method has bit me in the butt plenty of times.

No, I wish it were that simple. It's enabled, I've tried enabling and disabling tens of times but doesn't change anything.

Seems like you gave a lot of thought, and did all the tests. I think your touch pad might be bad. It is weird because the timing coincides with your 3.1 update, but it happens. There is one final thing to test. You can place your dock on another transformer, friend or display model in store.
I suggest you try warranty replacement rather than opening the dock yourself. It is almost impossible to open the dock without leaving some traces, in my opinion. Can you return your touch pad for replacement or warranty?
Good luck.
