Sorry, this post turned out to be a mess :/
This is my first theme in a while..
This theme is not future-proof but you can help me by updating me on dead links and other broken things ;D
It's nowhere near finished. Still has a few bugs. If someone could help me fix these that would be great. (Im not much of a programmer) just email me at [email protected] with some edits you made.
Requirements
Miui for Droid or Milestone
My themepack
Yep that simple. First off, hope you have MIUI. cuz you'll be needing it.
Link to MIUI ROMS

Just use RomManager to flash over to MIUI
I ripped some icons off an iPhone4 systemdump and "borrowed" some code from existing miui themes.
The themes where in Chinese, so i translated most of it..
The files that are in .mtz format. they can be edited by renaming it to .zip. also files with no extension can be edited if renamed to .zip
Bugs
Lockscreen notificationbar is clear
Unlock slider slides a bit too far (unfixable, i believe)
iOS 5 style Notification center needs some fixing
Font needs to be white for notification center
Get rid of all the orange in the Notification Center
Launcher Slider Dots arent round

i wouldnt quite call them bugs now that i think about it, just imperfections. only a nandroid will undo this because you're flashing a new rom
Great Looking Theme!
When doing a nandroid backup, I would have to go to the recovery screen correct so I can flash back to what I have now? Thanks. Is there another way to do this backup besides rebooting into recovery?
That's sad
Looks like you guys just bought the wrong phone.

You´re right. MIUI looks great, but I don´t want too much iOS-Style on my Droid.

Hi everyone...
I think, "Android" should look like Android. I respect and consider your great efforts, but MIUI gives us the possibility to make what we want; and it's not cool see any Android Smartphone with the Apple's iOS appearance; that looks like we are envying to have that OS. Sincerely, I believe Android is better than iOS, not only in the kernell or fuctions or versatility, but graphic appearance is superior.
Greetings from Ecuador.

Hey guys I'm not a big MIUI fan but what MIUI Scotland is doing is messed up and if you support the real MIUI devs, THEN I think you should support their efforts in spreading the word and exposing MIUI Scotland for stealing work without proper credit!!

First off, I want to thank for this great community that XDA has created. I also want to thank El Condor for his great work on the GTX theme it inspired me to create this theme. Thanks to the themers out there in the nexus community. Big ups to manup for his great guides on nexus-nation and jmotyka for all his help. I started this theme by putting together a collection pngs' from different roms while focusing on simplicity. I then started editing all the png's from the ground up. Lastly thanks paul for his great desire port! if it wasnt for that I would have never been able to create this theme. I posting a teaser pic to gauge interest from the community. The release of this theme depends solely on the interest of the community members, so the more interest the sooner I release it. Hope you guys enjoy!

Doubt it, they look like Sense themes.
Might be wrong but.
It's definitely a sense theme, so it's unlikely to work on froyo roms.
do you have the wallpaper for the black and red theme?
Very nice work man, im downloading the black theme right now! but i have a question, im currently using the white theme, i can flash directly the black theme? or i have install the rom again? thanks in advance, and sorry for my very bad english
If you have white theme installed you will have to re flash rom because some aspects of the white theme will remain.
This is a sense theme. To install, just flash from recovery.
Thanks man, i will try it now!
that is an AWESOME wallpaper. the red n black theme is pretty coolio!
hey man in order to remove the theme i need to flash the rom again ?????
Yeah or if you created a nandroid backup you can just restore. You should be able to flash your rom without wiping anything, pretty much just restoring the original theme of sense.
does flashing the rom again without wiping just gonna change the files that the theme changed ???? or is it going to reset my settings or apps or anything ?
both themes are great but they would be even better if they have stock down taskbar(one where you press for phone apps..)
Also would be wesome if you can put battery indicator from "white" to "black" theme
I love the black theme, and the clock hidden!
I hate the boot sound though. lol

I dont like the stock launchbar too much, lol, but Ill be adding the stock launchbar as well as creating different launchbars to flash seperately just to add some variety. Also white theme will be updated with new notification icons. I will also remove the boot sound.
Excellent dark theme!
I prefer this to the light version as it uses less power not lighting up the screen all white.
If you make the reflection of the white numbers in the clock white as well, the clock will look WAY cool and sleek!
Any chance of getting a black and blue/cyan alternative?
Great job you're doing here!
doesn't work on defrost 1.4
Did u fix the bug with the powercontrol widget?
Updated Detox Theme. Sorry power widget still buggy. I will be fixing that tomorrow after work. Can you guys post any other bugs so i can fix them. Thanks

Lockscreen mod with Customizable Background
for OpenDesire and DeFrost
I've modded the framework and enabled custom lock-screen backgrounds. I've currently got it working on my custom mods for OpenDesire and DeFrost.
This is not lockbot or widgetlocker, this is a modified vanilla lock-screen.
Please don't attempt this if you don't understand all of this. I am not responsible for any damage this may cause. I recommend doing a nandroid before playing around with this.
This will make your screen look silly when answering a call from a locked screen. There is nothing I can do about this.
I've included 2 lockscreen images for the black mod and templates for both black and white. If you are using the stock sliders, you don't need to use a template, just make sure the image is the correct size.
Here is proof:

What you need to have
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
HTC Desire, S-Off'ed and running OpenDesire 4.0.34-37 or DeFrost 5.6
Ninjamorph and dependencies
My Custom framework
Photoshop/GIMP.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
What you need to do
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Flash one of my themes through recovery, ensuring signature verification is off.
Let phone restart
Bask in glory of new lockscreen for a second, then realise you can't read the status bar.
Extract the .xml files to \SDcard\CMTheme\ and apply either through the settings menu (Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > User interface > Tweaks extras > ) then restart for configuration to load.
Enjoy new theme
Make a lockscreen that is 480*800, If you want it to look best, place it under either of the layers photoshop. If using the white lock widget use the white psd file.
Place lockscreen on SDcard.
Open Ninjamorph
>New Project
Navigate to system>framework>framework-res.apk>res>drawable-hdpi>lockscreen_bg.png
Select the file you would like to have as your background
Select "finish project" select framework-res.apk, then "yes", "yes" or "no", "yes", "yes". Let phone restart to new lockscreen background.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you don't have an S-OFF'd Desire
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Download one of my themes.
Open the file in an archive program (I use 7zip) and navigate to framework\framework-res.apk\res\drawable-hdpi\. Locate "lockscreen_bg.png" and extract this file.
Edit the file, put it back in the archive, flash theme.

Alternatively you want other framework

Ok, here it is guys. My first attempt at a Metamorph and only for OpenDesire.
You can only use this on stock, or simple themes. My definition of "simple theme" is one which is only changed icons, this means no battery mods which use more than the 6 steps that is the default, ie. no *.xmls are edited. or...
you will get stuck in a boot-loop
Instructions.
Download "custom_lockscreen.zip"
Open Metamorph and point it to this file.
Select apply all - it should reboot into your new background.
Then use ninjamorph to change background as outlined above.
As this is my first attempt at a metamorph, please be sure you backup before testing it. I am not responsible for anything going pear-shaped.
Reserved, just in case

Not currently. It requires modding the xmls in the framework of the rom. As far as I know, this will require each rom to be decompiled then edited then recompiled which I don't have time to do and/or maintain.

Can't you add your code to Cyanogen or Open Desire or anything like that & maybe they can create a new option? I know nothing about developing but I know that they can merge your code within android.

Yeah I too know nothing about developing. I have no idea how to go about this. I tend to leave this to more capable people as it takes me too long to code anything. I only really post what I come up with and use, its become a bit of a hobby. I don't have time to port/merge code, as I don't require it and it's not worth my time.

Not as yet. If you use the "flat_white.xml" file you should get a white statusbar, but the icons will look inverted.
I probably won't have the white version up until late this week.

General Info
I do not have a Droid to test this on, so I would appreciate it if someone could a.) alert me, preferably on twitter, when a new build is made, and b.) let me know if the theme I post here works.
This theme is extensive with over 2000 edited .png files and more than 35 .xml files.
There are no icons included with this theme. If you would like icons, then you can use ADW.Launcher or ADW EX download Minimalist - ADW Theme.
If you would like to donate to me for my work in this theme, then you can download the Donate version of the above mentioned theme. Search for "Minimalist Donate - ADW Theme" to find it.
If you would like to port this theme to any other device or use any part of it for your own doing, then you can download my images and edited .xml files from this post.
You do not have to ask me if you can port this or use any part of it. You do not have to credit me for any of my work in this theme.
I will not be checking this page frequently, but I will try to answer any questions posted here whenever I update the links. If you want a quicker answer, then I suggest saying something to me on Twitter (@david1171_).
This theme is for the official CM7 Nightly ROMs.

While the force close pop up is on the screen, another pop up menu will appear behind the force close pop up and the buttons will say either Continue? or Stop; you must quickly press Force close on the force close pop up, then press Continue? on the other pop up menu; it will then start applying the framework-res.apk

10. Everything should be applied now

Updated to cm_sholes_full-24.zip.
New button and textfield images, not a big difference but something I have wanted to get done for a while.
Fixed DeskClock time text issue in landscape
Added Morph to OP for lockscreen icons for those that do not like completely transparent lockscreen. Please read the instructions and do exactly as they say.
Edit1: Also, I believe with the next release, I am going to restructure the way the links are set up in the OP. As it stands right now, it is an ineffective model that takes up a lot of unnecessary space. As anyone who follows me on twitter knows, when I mention my updates on there, I just link to a folder on media that contains folders of each supported device, then in that folder are the theme files for each device. If I go to just having a link to that main folder containing all the sub folders like I do on twitter, then I do not have to go about updating the links in 9 different threads with each release, and I do not have a space for old download files, since they can be gotten from the same place as the current download file. I think this method will make for a less cluttered OP, and save time overall.

I meant is there someone that makes a build from cm7 source even though there is no official build.
There is now "alpha" Cyanogen mod for MS and also couple of ROM's vased on that... so there should be ROM's to test this on.

Hi everyone, especially our Theme Creators..!
I was looking yesterday the new Nokia N9 with MeeGo 1.2 and thouht that its UI its just excellent. Is there any chance we can somehow get a Theme like that? Or at least the icons used? The look pretty nice!
I think I've read somewhere that N9's ROM is alread "on the loose" and they are trying to port what they can into Nokia N900. So probably the ROM can be found easily.
Thank you for your time!
Can you link me to a system dump.

MIUI's ROM icons look like MeeGo's then? Can we somehow use them in CM7?
BTW, I just took a look at MIUI's site and found it really nice.

Eybee's version is good. Lalit is not updating his rom frequently.
Thanks for your reply.
I will try out eybee's rom right away. After installing it (through Apply Update) I have to also install latest GApps, like with CyanogenMod, or MIUI has them pre-installed?
Where can I get these icons then and how to install them? (either in CM7, or MIUI)
Thank you again for your time.
GApps is already included. The theme is available in the rom too. It is called rounded_icons. It is only icons.
Use the Theme Manager application to install them. It is very versatile. You can mix and match parts from different themes and make your own theme, like icons/fonts/wallpapers/notification bar/lockscreen/dialer/messages etc.
I've just installed MIUI. Lets see it then.
Thanks again for your help.

If the ROM is really already available on the web, I'd also appreciate the link to it.
Is this icon pack available separately from the rom?
I have no idea, I am trying to get the icons myself somehow..!
So, I found the new icons, from a thread in maemo's forum, they are form new Symbian "Anna".
http://hotfile.com/dl/115788105/e290c96/SymAnna.rar.html
To install them, we copy them to SD card and then we do what?

And then (probably - maybe there is more simple way) you need to decompile every apk and change its icon, after that compile it again, sign and install. I don't know other way. You need to ask advanced themers from forum.
Thank you for the info, unforunately I don't have the time right now. Maybe next week. Unless someone does it until then..!
No need to decompile any app. I'll create a flashable zip in a couple of days. Busy now.
Edit: Background of icons is not transparent. It will take more time. Also there are only very few icons.
sileshn maybe I can help you if you tell me how..
You said: "No need to decompile any app". Then how can you do it??
Will be waiting for your flashable zip then!
FuFu metamorph method.
DONT TRY THIS ON MIUI. MIUI THEMING IS DIFFERENT
You can use FuFu OR which has a metamorph option to apply themes. Basically what you do is to find out what the icon for each application is called. It is different for different apps. The icon is usually inside the /res/drawable-hdpi folder. You then create the same directory structure and place the icons inside it and apply using FuFu OR. Let me give you an example.
Say you want to change the messaging application icon. The application for that is Mms.apk. So you first create the following directory structure.
Mms/res/drawable-hdpi/
Then place the icon for messaging into this folder and name it ic_launcher_smsmms.png
Follow the same procedure for all the icons you want to replace. Then create a folder, place the app folders inside this and follow this procedure to apply it.
Download one of Basians themes for Froyomod and have a look at the structure inside the zip file. You will get a better idea. But as i said before, the N9 icons don't have a transparent background, so they will not look good.
Search for Suave HD theme for Miui. Very Similar icons. I use it too

While working on making the port of MIUI for the Kindle Fire more usable for the tablet I decided to take on modifying the launcher. After a bit of smali work I was able to allow the number of rows and columns in the launcher to be adjusted.
Although I originally intended this mod to be primarily for the Kindle Fire port of MIUI.us, I have received numerous requests for the modified apk. So, without further ado, I bring to the masses the MIUI Launcher with adjustable homescreen grid size. I started this mod with MIUI 2.1.13 so make sure you download the APK that goes with your version of MIUI.
Please note this will not work with other ROMs as it relies heavily on the MIUI framework.
Instructions
--------------------------------
1) Download the appropriate APK and place it in the root of your SD card
2) Rename the file to Launcher2.apk
3) Using either Root Explorer or ES File Explorer (with root privileges) copy the file to /system/app
4) Change the file permissions to -rw-r--r--
5) At this point your Launcher probably closed so press home to bring it back up. At this point it should be the new modified version. If not, just reboot your device.
6) Go to launcher settings and adjust the # of columns and rows you would like. hint: start out with small values and increase them as you see fit
7) Once you change the # of columns and rows press Reset Launcher to get the launcher to use the new settings.
8) Enjoy getting a little more room for your favorite apps and widgets.

Congratulations to those that actually took the time to read the OP. I applaud you for being part of the minority here on XDA. For those of you who do not take a minute to read the OP, well there isn't much to say. Because you won't be reading this and you will end up asking some stupid question that could have been answered by reading this. - |0xD34D|

Nope not just tablets. It started out as a need for something better on a tablet but it should work just as well on other devices.
The request I was receiving were for people that wanted to use it on their phone and it has worked well for them.
bro,
1. do it support scrollable widget?
2. support widget resize?

#1 is probably much more of a realistic possibility, while #2 would really take some work seeing as I am working in pure smali. That's not to say it can't be done, but with the way the MIUI launcher deals with widget placement, it may take quite a bit of work to implement it.

If I had the time to dig into such an endeavor, I would. Right now I have other projects that require my attention.
Who knows, I may need a little break and decide to give it a shot.
nice work bro!
i got a request for you
can you make the edits needed for this nice hack in the launcher2.apk in THIS zip?
the launcher2.apk included in the zip above does support scrollable widgets
and when you change the density the icons will remain all the same size
and the text label will be just under the icon instead of in the icon like in your screenshots
i hope you can look at it thanks
PS. the .13 launcher just works in the .20 rom

I'm not about to go and use another person's work without permission. I'll have to make sure it is alright with the original creator of that mod before using their work. I can however, look into what it takes to enable these features and just implement them myself. The icon title is an easy one so no worries there. Scrollable widgets however, I have not used so I'll have to take a look at them.

True, the 2.1.13 launcher does work, but there are some subtle differences in them that may or may not be an issue. If it works and there are no issues then great, but if there are it may be best to use the version that corresponds to the ROM.
Will this work on the ICS test 1.11.9 build? I'm not sure what the newer updates include as far as the code, but I figure they might include some of the stuff from 1.11.9

Nope not gonna work.
Let me try this one more time. It is for MIUI v2.1.13 or v2.1.20. Those version numbers are from the official miui.com versions.
If you change the grid size, your folders look terrible once opened.

Not working for me on MIUI 2.1.13 on HTC HD2 NAND
After replace of Launcher only Bootloop!
thx
working for me, thx for that!
only thing i really miss is the possibilty to deactivate the text label of the apps under the icons, because depending on the values i choose for gridsize the names overlap each other, so it would make sense if they could be deactivated.
do you think there is a possibility to include this feature? or could/would you tell me how i can do it myself?

Can anyone make it for non miui Rom .
HTC Sense 3.5,Android 2.3.5
Great looking mod, any chance you can make a mod for MIUI 2.2.3?
you should try this one which i pulled from the switch-tweaks-pack made by prazaar, all credits go to him!
just copy it to /system/app overwriting the existing launcher in there (backup before!) and giving it rw-r--r-- permissions, then restart and that's it. if you experience any problems you could wipe cache and dalvik-cache and reboot again, but i don't think it is necessary.
i am using this one and it has customizable grid-size AND the possibilty to deactivate the text label of the apps under the icons and all the other stuff, too!
as always, i am not responsible for nothing bla...
