Hi everyone, especially our Theme Creators..!
I was looking yesterday the new Nokia N9 with MeeGo 1.2 and thouht that its UI its just excellent. Is there any chance we can somehow get a Theme like that? Or at least the icons used? The look pretty nice!
I think I've read somewhere that N9's ROM is alread "on the loose" and they are trying to port what they can into Nokia N900. So probably the ROM can be found easily.
Thank you for your time!
Can you link me to a system dump.
Edit: the icons look like jzrills rounded icons for miui
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
My friend sileshn unfortunately I son't know where to find the system dump, but I will try to find out..
MIUI's ROM icons look like MeeGo's then? Can we somehow use them in CM7?
BTW, I just took a look at MIUI's site and found it really nice.
I am currently downloading MIUI 1.6.17 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090899
Or should I try this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850276 ?
I am a little confused..

Eybee's version is good. Lalit is not updating his rom frequently.
Thanks for your reply.
I will try out eybee's rom right away. After installing it (through Apply Update) I have to also install latest GApps, like with CyanogenMod, or MIUI has them pre-installed?
Where can I get these icons then and how to install them? (either in CM7, or MIUI)
Thank you again for your time.
GApps is already included. The theme is available in the rom too. It is called rounded_icons. It is only icons.
Use the Theme Manager application to install them. It is very versatile. You can mix and match parts from different themes and make your own theme, like icons/fonts/wallpapers/notification bar/lockscreen/dialer/messages etc.
I've just installed MIUI. Lets see it then.
Thanks again for your help.

If the ROM is really already available on the web, I'd also appreciate the link to it.
Is this icon pack available separately from the rom?
I have no idea, I am trying to get the icons myself somehow..!
So, I found the new icons, from a thread in maemo's forum, they are form new Symbian "Anna".

To install them, we copy them to SD card and then we do what?

And then (probably - maybe there is more simple way) you need to decompile every apk and change its icon, after that compile it again, sign and install. I don't know other way. You need to ask advanced themers from forum.
Thank you for the info, unforunately I don't have the time right now. Maybe next week. Unless someone does it until then..!
No need to decompile any app. I'll create a flashable zip in a couple of days. Busy now.
Edit: Background of icons is not transparent. It will take more time. Also there are only very few icons.
sileshn maybe I can help you if you tell me how..
You said: "No need to decompile any app". Then how can you do it??
Will be waiting for your flashable zip then!
FuFu metamorph method.
DONT TRY THIS ON MIUI. MIUI THEMING IS DIFFERENT
You can use FuFu OR which has a metamorph option to apply themes. Basically what you do is to find out what the icon for each application is called. It is different for different apps. The icon is usually inside the /res/drawable-hdpi folder. You then create the same directory structure and place the icons inside it and apply using FuFu OR. Let me give you an example.
Say you want to change the messaging application icon. The application for that is Mms.apk. So you first create the following directory structure.
Mms/res/drawable-hdpi/
Then place the icon for messaging into this folder and name it ic_launcher_smsmms.png
Follow the same procedure for all the icons you want to replace. Then create a folder, place the app folders inside this and follow this procedure to apply it.
Download one of Basians themes for Froyomod and have a look at the structure inside the zip file. You will get a better idea. But as i said before, the N9 icons don't have a transparent background, so they will not look good.
Search for Suave HD theme for Miui. Very Similar icons. I use it too

Minimal Matte Grey Theme for CyanogenMod 6.0.0

**Mod edit: Link to blog removed**
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Only works on CyanogenMod 6.0.0. Don't put silly posts saying it's not working because you're using a different ROM. And it's put in the HTC Desire section because it's only supposed to work with the HTC Desire. You can try it with other phones using CyanogenMod but I take no responsibility for anything that goes wrong.
This is not a Metamorph.
If you have any questions ask around, there are always answers to everything, if you still can't find the answer only at last resort can you message me. If you ask me something silly or that has been already answered I WILL NOT REPLY.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok well with that out of the way.
This is really a port of my old Minimal Matte Grey Theme.
Everything else is Sense based because I love the colour scheme Sense uses and the buttons it uses too but I'm most probably going to change it to suit the whole matte thing.
I'm going to keep adding more and more stuff to the theme so keep up with updates.

It's definitely not the nightly's one though.
I'll be updating it every time a stable release comes out.
But I think it should work with every nightly anyway.

Lockscreen mod with Customizable Background
for OpenDesire and DeFrost
I've modded the framework and enabled custom lock-screen backgrounds. I've currently got it working on my custom mods for OpenDesire and DeFrost.
This is not lockbot or widgetlocker, this is a modified vanilla lock-screen.
Please don't attempt this if you don't understand all of this. I am not responsible for any damage this may cause. I recommend doing a nandroid before playing around with this.
This will make your screen look silly when answering a call from a locked screen. There is nothing I can do about this.
I've included 2 lockscreen images for the black mod and templates for both black and white. If you are using the stock sliders, you don't need to use a template, just make sure the image is the correct size.
Here is proof:

What you need to have
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
HTC Desire, S-Off'ed and running OpenDesire 4.0.34-37 or DeFrost 5.6
Ninjamorph and dependencies
My Custom framework
Photoshop/GIMP.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
What you need to do
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Flash one of my themes through recovery, ensuring signature verification is off.
Let phone restart
Bask in glory of new lockscreen for a second, then realise you can't read the status bar.
Extract the .xml files to \SDcard\CMTheme\ and apply either through the settings menu (Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > User interface > Tweaks extras > ) then restart for configuration to load.
Enjoy new theme
Make a lockscreen that is 480*800, If you want it to look best, place it under either of the layers photoshop. If using the white lock widget use the white psd file.
Place lockscreen on SDcard.
Open Ninjamorph
>New Project
Navigate to system>framework>framework-res.apk>res>drawable-hdpi>lockscreen_bg.png
Select the file you would like to have as your background
Select "finish project" select framework-res.apk, then "yes", "yes" or "no", "yes", "yes". Let phone restart to new lockscreen background.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you don't have an S-OFF'd Desire
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Download one of my themes.
Open the file in an archive program (I use 7zip) and navigate to framework\framework-res.apk\res\drawable-hdpi\. Locate "lockscreen_bg.png" and extract this file.
Edit the file, put it back in the archive, flash theme.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alternatively you want other framework
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, here it is guys. My first attempt at a Metamorph and only for OpenDesire.
You can only use this on stock, or simple themes. My definition of "simple theme" is one which is only changed icons, this means no battery mods which use more than the 6 steps that is the default, ie. no *.xmls are edited. or...
you will get stuck in a boot-loop
Instructions.
Download "custom_lockscreen.zip"
Open Metamorph and point it to this file.
Select apply all - it should reboot into your new background.
Then use ninjamorph to change background as outlined above.
As this is my first attempt at a metamorph, please be sure you backup before testing it. I am not responsible for anything going pear-shaped.
Reserved, just in case

Not currently. It requires modding the xmls in the framework of the rom. As far as I know, this will require each rom to be decompiled then edited then recompiled which I don't have time to do and/or maintain.

Yeah I too know nothing about developing. I have no idea how to go about this. I tend to leave this to more capable people as it takes me too long to code anything. I only really post what I come up with and use, its become a bit of a hobby. I don't have time to port/merge code, as I don't require it and it's not worth my time.

framework-res.apk
I have had good luck simply copying and pasting what I want in the framework-res.apk file, at least for MDJ FroyoHD 4.6
if you rename the file to framework-res.zip, you can open it with something like winrar. For the Desire HD framework-res.apk and the Gingerbread framework-res.apk (I assume all of them probably), there's a folder called res. (location: framework-res.apk/res) Inside that there's a folder called anim. framework-res.zip/res/anim. These are the animations for transitions, etc. I've been able to copy and paste them freely and haven't messed anything up yet. There's also a folder called drawable-hdpi. (location: framework-res.zip/res/drawable-hdpi) This is where all the icons/battery status, signal status graphics are stored. They're all .png files and I've used photoshop to alter them.
I wouldn't recommend extracting the file and then re-zipping it. It has to be signed and I guess it won't work otherwise.
UOT kitchen is an excellent and wonderful tool also. Lots of neat stuff you can do with that. It's not just for DHD builds. Reportedly works with Darkstone's SuperRAM.
Check out this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=856915
I think you could take the framework-res.apk from whatever build you have, and copy and paste whatever it is you want in there. I've been compling stuff from about 3 or 4 of them into one to get it where I want it.

New look of progress bars. Both color and shape.
New look of popup fields.
For the vote thing, LauncherPro is included in the theme.

About the poll, i vote LaucherPro. I am using it with the ICS icons on the dock.
I found 1 little bug: if i select battery percentage, it shows number but no little bar on the right like original oxygen theme.
Ladies & gentlemen,
this is for everyone, who still prefers froyo, because it is stable, mostly bug-free (exception: scroll-bug) and has a long battery-life.
I tried a few GB-roms and CM9, but they all have issues, so I reverted back to froyo.
The sad thing is: if you once tried ICS, Froyo looks very frumpy compared to it.
Froyo has not a Theme-Chooser, so I decided to pretty up some parts of the base-rom by myself.
It will not be a one-to-one ICS copy, but rather something similar.
I started with this Froyo 2.2.2 rom as base: Light-v2 by kpbotbot

In the /system/framework - folder I modified the following files:
framework-res.apk
(icons, colors, power-menu)
android.policy.jar
(power-menu)
services.jar
(white font for the date in the notification bar)
lge-res.apk
(notification toggle buttons and their background, Carrier background and font color)
In the /system/app - folder I modified this files:
Browser.apk
Calendar.apk
CameraApp.apk
com.google.android.gm.apk [gmail]
Contacts.apk
DeskClock.apk
Mms.apk
PackageInstaller.apk
Phone.apk
Settings.apk
Here are the changes mostly done for the launcher icon and the menu icons. The important ones for the look of the dialer are the Phone.apk and the Contacts.apk.
By the way, I hate *.pro files.
Other used apps:
Launcher: Holo Launcher
Keyboard: IceCream Sandwich-ICS Keyboard
Clock Widget: Minimalistic Text
Extra Notification Toggles: Notification Toggle
If you want to use a 2.2.* rom with the new baseband, you will need this files:
http://db.tt/zV3jimCM (this is not a flashable zip)
Thank you, community for the tools and tutorials and thanks to simililar projects for sharing. Excuse my grammar
----------------------------------------------
Update (27. Oct. 2012)
I've replaced the files with an All-In-One flashable Zip for your Recovery.
It's my first selfmade flashable zip, so be carefully (tested it with TWRP-Recovery)
It includes all above + the libs for the new baseband.
Edit:
If you get bootloops with this zip, try this one:

Aha, thanks for reporting! I didn't noticed this yet.
There must be something wrong with the size of some png's. Maybe I will fix this in the next days.
Some other status bar icons also appear not correct (new gmail, calendar event)
will this work on all froyo roms? like lets say p509 stock?

To be honest, I'm not sure if it will.
If you want to try, do a nandroid backup first.
I don't believe you, that is not froyo, no way!

Damn! You caught me.
Update 01.b
Some icons replaced to display correct in the status bar.
See the updated first post.
Even tho this is just a theme, and I am not a fan, and I admit I will never try this ROM (real ICS is much cooler), it is nice to know people still use 2-year old absolete ROMs

Hello. There are 2 possibilities.
You rename the *.png to *.pro. Then open the APK in an archive manager (7zip, WinZip) and drag the file in there to replace the old one. With this workaround it is possible, that you will get a certificate error. See logcat if the app force closes. But in the most cases it will work.
Decompile the APK with your favourite tool. Then replace the *.pro files with *.png files without renaming. Take care of the *.9.png files, because in the decompiled apk the "9" is not visible. You will see them if you open the apk in 7zip. In the end you have to recompile the APK.
Hopefully I could help.
