What are people using for the lowest setting in SetCPU? I just rooted and installed the OC kernel and am using SetCPU. Is there a different program I should be using?

Hello,
I have a stock 1.7.8 MIUI ROM (Mag) using tytung r10 kernel. I've tried OCing it with setcpu but crashes all the time.
How can i overclock my phone/ROM to speed things up a bit? I've seen other roms using tytung kernel OC'd to 1190.

Setcpu should work make sure you give it root permissions.
I have the same problem ,even with r11 beta 2 i still have crash when OC, and i gave him root permission otherwise i can't OC
try to edit the vdd levels for 1190 maybe cpu dont get enought power so it crashes
i tried vdd levels still same when oc @ 1.2 it crashes, but when i tried raf 1.9 i oc @ 1.4 with no crashes, weird.
Try with another app, like pimp my cpu.
pimp cpu gave me error frequency_voltage_table does not exist
Does gingerxperia support overclock by itself?
I see in cyanogenmod setting overclock option and when i change it to (for ex. 729 mhz) i go back to home screen and the return to overclock setting i see it return to default (600 mhz). Why?!!
Also SetCPU doesn't work!
Do i have to install custom kernal??
*In MiniCM-7 overclock works fine from cyanogenmod settings.

You have to instal either the OC Module for stock kernel or any custom kernel which supports OC'ing. Are you sure it worked in MiniCM-7, except from having the ability to check the new amount of MHz?

you mean this: Modules for stock kernel.: Flash with CWM. This package contains: AnDyX's Dualtouch for Cypress, AnDyX's smartass governor, ext3/4, X8Gesture, X8MDDI, X8UV.
but what is that "smartass governor and the x8mddi"??

x8 mddi is a module that reduce the lag experienced by all custom roms. governor is the way the phone control the cpu. smartass governor operates by reducing ur cpu speed when the screen is off and increasing it when the screen is on.

Hi last i use tezet ICS
after the creation of version 12.05.2012 (tpruvot ports) i flash it (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623385)
I also flash DroidXGovernorsV2.2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1655480)
But i have problem.
Setting--->Performance--->Processor--->CPU governor
i see extra BOOSTEDassV2 & smartassV2
but when I select one of them nothing is happen.
Still the CPU governor is ondemand
What is wrong?
Install No Frills Cpu Control from the market and select your governor
Seem work fine.

Hi.
Do not work on CM9 4.0.4 version 120602.
I am using motodoido´s overclock as reference.
Thanks.
I'm on stock but rooted, wanna underclock to try to save battery... thanks!
Why not just lower the max frequency? Can be done with any of a bunch of kernel apps.

That's what I am trying to do, I thought it needs kernel support, no? I used to use Trickster Mod on N5...
Not sure how it works on Lollipop, but previously all you needed was root. Then use a kernel app that allows you to set min and max frequencies. Undervolting 'may' require a kernel that supports it.
Under clocking below stock kernel min. frequency would require a different kernel of course.
Do you guys know any good/ the best settings/profiles for SetCPU on the stock rom and kernel?
Anyone?
