Does gingerxperia support overclock by itself?
I see in cyanogenmod setting overclock option and when i change it to (for ex. 729 mhz) i go back to home screen and the return to overclock setting i see it return to default (600 mhz). Why?!!
Also SetCPU doesn't work!
Do i have to install custom kernal??
*In MiniCM-7 overclock works fine from cyanogenmod settings.

You have to instal either the OC Module for stock kernel or any custom kernel which supports OC'ing. Are you sure it worked in MiniCM-7, except from having the ability to check the new amount of MHz?

you mean this: Modules for stock kernel.: Flash with CWM. This package contains: AnDyX's Dualtouch for Cypress, AnDyX's smartass governor, ext3/4, X8Gesture, X8MDDI, X8UV.
but what is that "smartass governor and the x8mddi"??

x8 mddi is a module that reduce the lag experienced by all custom roms. governor is the way the phone control the cpu. smartass governor operates by reducing ur cpu speed when the screen is off and increasing it when the screen is on.

Hi everyone,
I just have a little question.
It seems that when installing Fugumod kernel, users (including me) start to experience some lags on some (unknown to me) circumstances. These lags are easily solved by setting the min frequency to 166 MHz (I do that with pimp my cpu). My question is : Is that behaviour different than with the stock kernel ? I mean what is the min frequency on the stock kernel ? 83 MHz like the fugumod kernel ? Setting 166MHz as min frequency is a patch or is it just putting back the same value as the stock kernel ?
I known that I could easily test it by myself just by putting back a stock kernel over my fugumod kernel, but I already converted all three FS to ext2/ext4.
And btw, i like my Fugumod kernel so thanks to Sebastien and the others for their work.

yes the default freq for the CPU are 667-83 and if want to use THE DEFAULT freq than flash a non OC version of FUGUMOD

Thanks, but that was not my question ;-)
I simply want to known what is the behavior of a stock kernel regarding cpu freq. Is the min frequency on a stock kernel also 83 MHz or something else ?
Fred.
I think the main problem is the governor, or wrongly chosen governor that keeps the cpu stuck too low

My mistake, as you talked about fugumod OC, I though you were referring default freq range for FuguMod instead of the stock one.

Thanks, but it lead to other questions ;-)
What is the default governor of a stock kernel ?
As I am using FuguMod 2.4 800, and PimpMyCpu tells me that there's no governor, is it safe to assume that it's the same governor on my FuguMod version and on the stock kernel. If so, why lags on Fugumod?
And finally, on Fugumod kernel what would be the best governor. My aim is more battery conservation than pure performance, yet these lags @83MHz are extremely annoying.
Thanks,
Fred.
well on my i phone i also prefer to use the conservative governor but when it comes to play heavy games i change the governor to performance.
for saving battery make a screen off profile with max frequency 166 or just a bit more that that...
it saved a lot of my battery...
Fresh installation of GDX v17 from original 2.1.1 have no OC states (MHz) in Settings/"Cyanogen"/"Performance"/CPU. Are there any acurate method to install some mod that gives abilities to choose clock setting? MiniDX6 1.02 had about 6 choices for min and max CPU MHz...
OC
If you're using Stock SE Kernel, copy X8oc.ko to system/lib/modules, check permissions, and reboot.
if you want to use LinuxDX, DX already said it won't upload module onto the Kernel, so if you want OC that bad, look for a differente combo (Kernel/ROM)

I am very sorry to inform you that Repensis Kernel doesn't support overclocking. If you want an overclock kernel, try Merruk Technology Kernel V2.5. Else, flash Savie's Kernel and overclock it the way you did so. Merruk kernel v2.5 is already overclock to 1.2 GHz. You don't need to flash overclock zip again. But Savie kernel is not yet overclock. You need to flash the overclock zip file to overclock it to 900MHz. Only Stock kernel, merruk kernel and savie kernel supports overclocking till date of all the available kernels for Galaxy Y. Always keep in mind that overclocking drains the battery and heats up the phone which can cause damage to your handset. Just reflash Repensis Rom v3.5 via Clockwork Mode Recovery or via Stock Recovery.
Hit thanks if I helped you.

Flash repencis kernel(i use old,from repencis v3.5 rom not new) and install no frills cpu control from google play and you see frequency(312,624,832) also governors and io scheduler and set what frequency you want.I use min 312 and max 624 governor ondemand,io scheduler sio.After my opinion these settings are good because battery not drain fast and performance are good.But if i play gsmes like angry birds i set to min 832 max 832 governor performance and io scheduler vr.

My dear, do you really know what overclocking means? Our CPU is meant to run at the max frequency of 832 MHz and min frequency of 312Mhz. If you want it to run at frequencies higher than 832MHz, you have to overclock the cpu. If you can make your cpu run at frequencies higher than 832 Mhz then it means you have overclocked your cpu and your kernel supports overclocking.I have tried to overclock repensis v3.5 kernel before, and I was stuck at Samsung Galaxy Y screen and the phone didn't boot up thereby indicating that the kernel doesn't support overclocking and hence the cpu cannot be overclock. In short, overclocking a cpu means to make the cpu run at frequencies higher than its permissible max frequency as set my the manufacturer. Better do a little research before posting.

HELP ..
Help PLEASE ... I installed CREED'S ROM 3.5... and I want to overclock it to 1.2 gHz... Please help me step by step procedure!!!! Godbless You
Thanks to tegrak now we can easily overclock our note.
Lets Start...
1)First download Tegrak Overclock from playstore.
2)Open the app and in the main window press "Load Overclocking Module"
3)You are ready!!!!
You can easily go: (this are max frequencies, non recomended and stable)
CPU @ 1,6Ghz
Gpu @400Mhz
Lock your gpu @267Mhz
Change Governors an Io schedulers.
Undervolt
Undervolting and Gpu Oc is available only on paid version
Ps:Many thanks to altae for posting this in another thread

Tegrak NOT works with some kernels. For example, it doesn't works with CM kernel or any STOCK kernel. I'm using it, and I'm using HydraCore kernel. Be careful when you Overclock/Undervolt your CPU or GPU. If you reduce the voltages too much, the note will freeze.
Just to warn....
edit: i just saw the title is "on xxlsa and xxlsc". I didn't know it works with stock (or Philz) JB kernels. Could someone confirm that? Thanks
Overclocking-Undervolting is to do with care. I knew Tegrak 1 year ago... I've uninstalled it, because of easy unstability if not the correct values applied. We must read something about this before apply any value!
The best way, INMHO, to overclock, is to flash a Notecore or Hydracore OC Kernel, whose values has been adapted by developer to our Notes. And use CPU Master or SetCpu to create profiles.
To play with "volting" is an adventure...
Tegrak works on stock (philz) JB kernels. Stock vídeo player dont work if you use Tegrak. Its the only issue i have found.

I don't know the reason for your crash, but maybe you undervolted too much (or your cpu simply doesn't support the OC until 1.6).
I can give you the oc/uv values i'm using everyday (all perfect, no freezes or anything else). You can try these:
(my note has cpu group B and i'm using the hydracore 7.5 maxfu, but i guess those values are okay for almost every note with cpu group b and them don't depend from the kernel you're using)
[CPU]
1400 = 1225mV
1200 = 1150mV
1000 = 1050mV
800 = 1000mV
500 = 925mV
200 = 900mV
100 = 900mV
[GPU]
400 = 1000mV (i'm using this gpu overclock since few days, but it seems to be stable enough)
267 = 900mV
160 = 850mV
[SCHEDULER]
cfq (it was "noop", but i wanted to try this "cfq")
[GOVERNOR]
pegasusq
Everything with "set on boot" ON
Temperatures are ok, even with OC on cpu and gpu. (I remember you i'm using asylumPhoenix rom)
Maybe it will not solve your issue, but you can try
We cant download from playstore in our country

I could give you a link to download it, but you couldn't use it because you need to buy the full version. The free version is needed ony to know if your kernel is compatible with the tegrak app

I'm running Evo-x ROM with Merruk's Kernel. I have No frills CPU installed. However, there are only two frequencies from which I can choose, 832 MHZ annd 312 MHZ, I heard this kernel can overlock. It came with lots of governors but I still can't the option to adjust frequecies other than 832 and 312 and nor can I find where to overclock the phone's processor from.
