um...
well first you're in the wrong forum section. you should be in the sgs 4g section.
Secondly, make sure you're flashing a sgs 4g bali kernel instead of the vibrant 3g kernel.

You say that you flashed Bionix. Does it boot up before flashing Bali? Or do you just flash Bionix then immediately flash Bali?

flash CWM(You don't need root, just use the update.zip of CWM and do the reinstall packages on recovery)
Flash the rom. let it boot first before you flash the kernel just to be sure

You don't need root to flash the rom. Just have the CWM update.zip on your SD card and you'll be able to flash the rom from there. After you flash the rom you'll be rooted.

Oh. Well i rooted it with z4root yssterday anyway, will that mess anything up

Ah I see. You can flash an insecure kernel from the dev section then use something like S2 root or Superoneclick to root again.
First step would be to confirm Rom Manager works with SGS2 .
Second step would be to read the post you rooted from the bit where it says Rom Manager does not work .
jje
Im pretty sure sgs2 isnt compatible. Sgs2 should use cwm app.

The best bit of advice you can take from this thread is this: dont use rom manager with the sgs2, tbh it seems to cause more problems that it solves.
Its not fully compatible.
Rather Use the cwm app that installs with chainfires cfroot kernel.

[PORT] Simply Galaxy v2.7.2

I bring you a ported rom that comes from the Samsung vibrant forum. The rom is fully stable except I couldn't get GPS to work, however if anyone out there decides to try and fix it then go for it. It comes with the Jk4 modem and it is blazing fast.
NOTE: I TAKE NO RESPONISBILITY OF WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE.
The rom is 2.2.1, so just place the rom on your sd card and flash like any ordinary rom. Also the rom is in Dutch when you first flash it. Just go to language and keyboard and click on the first option from there. Then scroll down to English and change it. Well here it is http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20441294/SimplyGalaxy2.7.2SweetHoney.zip
Enjoy!!!!
If you are coming from gingerbread then I think it would be best to flash with Odin back to stock 2.2 and then root and flash this rom. Thank you
Here is a link to a video of this rom in action

He was talking about changing the languge when you flash it if I am not mistaken. As for them not wanting credit to be given you still need to link to the original work. If there is a kernel that is not posted you must post the links to the kernel and source as well.

I would suggest trying out cyanogenmod 7 (link below) first to get used to flashing a new rom. The installation steps are quite straightforward and you will have lots of fun (!!) flashing all the roms on offer.

Remember to be very carefull when unlocking the bootloader, and flashing a rom for the first time, it can brick your phone. Good luck!
I'am also and noob, but this is what I did to instal CM7 Rom. Don't forget to back up your stuff.
Go through the instruction on this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871
Download from megaupload is not available, the alternate link is
http://www.mediafire.com/?x4m1ul78tzwsdmc
Follow the instruction.
After this download superuser from market and then root manager. Open root manager and select Flash ClockworkMod recovery, it will download CWM and CWM will be flashed. Open root manager again and select back up your current ROM, it will ask confirmation and then reboot and do its thing and again reboot. After that download the rom you want to flash and copy it to your internal SD card (don't unzip it, copy the zipped file). Go to the ROM manager and select Install rom from the SD card and select the rom you just copied. It will ask confirmation and then reboot and do its magic and you will have your ROM installed

The reason why i will never flash a custom ROM on my SII

For some month's ago i had a Galaxy S Plus and i liked it, but i wanted to flash a custom ROM on it. So i updated it with Odin to the newest stock firmware, and i innstalled Clockworkmod so i could flash a custom ROM.
So i flashed the custom ROM (MoonRom) on it using AROMA innstaller and it went successfully. And i used the ROM for one day, and it was fast, and so on, and had a funny sound when u pressed on the dialer keypad, like a water drop sound
I liked the ROM, but i wanted it back to stock (warranty reasons) .So i put to phone into download mode and i used Odin + the pit file and flashed it back to stock firmware and wiped out and formatted everything on it using recovery mode.
And later i used the phone dialer, and the keypad sounds from the custom ROM was still there, after i reflashed it????
I was extremely confused i flashed a billion stock firmwares on there and that water drop sound when u tapped the dialer keypad was still there. I had formatted it and everything and it was still there after flashing back????
I know own a Galaxy S II, and i will never flash somethign custom on there i am afraid that if i do that and then reflash back. Something on the old rom will ble left.
After that i gave my mom the phone. And i was extremly confused...
Maybe the keypad sound is left on the sd card?

So do you know any way to get the keypad sounds back??? And also the keyboard sounds are also left from the custom ROM.
If you flashed back using Odin then its impossible that the sounds remain.
I can make you a flash package that should enable the stock samsung sounds if you really want it? You just have to tell me what firmware you will be running i.e. Gingerbread or ICS?

Flashing roms, tinkering, working out issues and resolving them, making device better is what XDA is about and where the enjoyments is, If you dont like that or dont have the aptitude, patience to learn why are you even here or have a Android device?
My suggestion is to get a Nokia 3310 or an iPhone, Or at least do not come here and bore us with stories about why you dont want to flash your phone.

Worked for me.
Stock rooted TMo SGS3 with the Trinity Alpha19 kernel.
Got a question I flashed probably 20-30 times this past week between stock, cm9 and cm10(no joke I become crazy like that for a few weeks) anyways my counter says one and I haven't even done anything is that fine ?

It all depends on how you're flashing bro. If you're flashing via cwm, and then that's not increasing your flash counter. The only time the counter is increased is if you're flashing none official files via Odin.
The 1 in your flash count is probably from the initial flash of cwm via Odin when you first rooted your phone.

Just wondering if there is a limit on using triangle away? if you use it each time you increase you binary count will eventually brick your phone?
Im sorry for being a noob, but what is this "triangle away" thing?

Google is your friend
It's a program that is used to reset your flash counter back to zero so Samsung won't be able to tell you flashed non official firmware on your phone at some point. Basically it comes in handy if you want to keep your warranty on your phone.
