Could someone be a God-send and go through their CM01 and post the menu items? My screen got spider-webbed and it's un-touchable and un-seeable now... if someone could give me the clicks needed to get to .tar recovery through w and the touch-scroller it would greatly be appreciated!

Hi. I'm not sure if there's someone who can build device specific CWM and I've been wondering if it's possible.
I've tried to flash several device specific CWM recovery fieles on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE, SC-01D(available in Japan).
However, it didn't work.
It freezes when the vendor's logo appear.
I know it's not easy to build CWM, especially for the device which is working on different CPU(it's not tegra2).
I would much appreciate if some of you genius build it for us, SC-01D user.
Thank you.
I'm using cwmr_touch_beta5_maguro on my sc-04d now. Working perfectly.
Oh nice! Thanks for the info!
I'll check it out and will try it when I get home today!

Ah I've missed read.
I don't think it's working on SC-01D.
Because, it's for nexus(sc-04D), not for Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE, sc-01D.
Anyway, thanks.
Does anyone know how to make / who can make a device specific CWM recovery?

Fixed mine... HTH
I had a similar experience - I tried to use the file recovery-cwm_4.0.0.4-sam-tab-10.1.tar.md5 with Odin on my Docomo Galaxy SC-01D and it wouldn't reboot properly. I was lucky enough that I could boot back into the Download mode (Power+Vol Down).
To recover my Tab, I used the CWM tar file found here:
wwwDOTteamovercomeDOTnet/p7500/?page_id=5
NOTE: I cannot post links yet, so I put DOT instead of .
After using that file, I can reboot into the OS and everything seems normal now. YMMV. I'm not brave enough to try anything further tonight, but tomorrow is another day. =)
Any one SC-01D user who already successful with custom recovery ?

EDIT: FOund out what was going wrong. OTAtool didn't like me, wanted to flash rw kernel, and when it tried to go into apx mode it just stuck at a black screen. I told it to ignore that, then it went into apx like normal, and I have recovery going just fine now.
Thanks, and mods/admins/janitors/whomever it concerns, you can file this thread in the round bin. Thanks <3
First, this is the DEV forum!
get ready for this to move...
But in the meantime get blackthund3rs AfterOta tool. That should fix it.
Derp. Figured there'd be a larger collection of people who know the ins and outs here. Just tried to dd touch recovery 1.7.3 and now I get the lovely red letters when it tries to boot into recovery.

Maybe its not allowing it since it is already updated. You could revert to ICS then start over and that should do the trick.

AP Fastboot - from powered off, hold down volume-up AND volume-down, then while holding those, press and hold the power button until you see a menu pop-up that's simply white text on a black background. Once that comes up, use volume-down to move down to AP Fastboot, and volume-up to select it. Then plug it into your computer, fire up rsdlite (6.1.4! ), open the file linked in the OP, and go!

Just edited the xml to delete the getvar line... So far so good and now I'm in ICS... GREAT... Will post the full method soon..

Remove the line with "getvar" and remove any line with OEM or var. It should be first long line and 3rd and last, if u get errors after then remove the line with "gptmain0.bin" should be line # 2

had everything to do with it..dont care if he just got it or not he was in a setup wizard boot loop like many people found them selfs in after rooting and removing something they shouldnt of only fix for that is to use kies like in that thread or get the stock image and odin it like the op did to fix it
Op. Did u try to root?
Someone probably rooted and messed it up...since 8t still got to the set up screen and appears to work he probably figures hed sell it to some sucker. Unfortunately this op probably bought it...amd there really wasnt much of a way for him to know it was messed with since setup still popped up
Just my theory...always make sure a device works when buying used...go through the setup, test all the main features. ..spend a good 10 minutes atleast with the phone before you actually give the guy money...and if your buying online like on ebay...good luck

I recently rooted my S3 i747 and then installed cyanogenmod 10. Keep in mind I am not a wiz at doing these things, however it did work. Here in lies my problems. 1. I hate this OS with a passion. Its just not what i thought it would be so I would love nothing more than to figure out how to remove it and return to stock firmware or another custom rom. 2. If i stay with this rom (for not being able to figure out how to remove it and install another) I am running out of storage internally. Its a great possibility I could have done something wrong. so with that being said, can anyone help me? I have tried more websites than I care to. thanks so much!
backup?

Well what I did was follow along a youtube video... Which in turn may not have been the best idea. I remember doing some sort of back up on clockwork or something like that. I tried to go to recovery mode and restore but that didnt help. Im not sure what all I did to be honest. :/

edit... Pull the battery on your phone and put it back in. Hold up vol, home button and Power till you see the little words in the top left corner. It should say booting recovery really small. at that point take your finger off of the power button only and it will boot into Recovery.
If you have CWM recovery or TWRP you are golden...
Or else... see below
Find your phone in it's section you should be able to find a method using Odin to flash it back to stock and then you can read up and find the way to do everything you want.
Just do your research and look through the forum for your phone type/carrier and you should be able to find all of the information that you are looking for.
Search and you shall succeed!

why do you guys make things so complicated? the guy wants his phone back to stock.
The only thing you have to do is to go to www.sammobile.com/firmwares. Then put your phone number i9100 in the search box and choose any of the roms below. They are all stock, 2.3/4.x.x etc. The rom is in a zip file, however, you have to extract the tar file inside it.
Power off your phone then, while holding vol down, press and hold power.
Open odin in your pc then connect the phone to pc while being in download mode. press the pda button in odin and insert the .tar rom whoch you have just extracted. press start and you are done.

Well returning to stock is just as easy as finding a stock ROM in his phones thread and flashing it, it'll be better in the long run that way as well because maybe he'll learn something.
